Bullfrogs, Bingo and Little House on the Prairie was a book worth reading. A different outlook on the Great Depression as most. I thoroughly enjoy learning about history, the good and bad. I would recommend this to read.

An interesting book, definitely a refreshing take on the history of the great depression and how folks adjusted to it and inovated it against the constraints of the time. I enjoyed reading this, even if it was a tad repetitive. Overall, I give this a 3.5/5.

Such a refreshing look at the years of the Great Depression. Our families adapted better than we were told. Yes, times were hard. The people then created a new life. Fantastic read.

I've just finished Jason Voiovich's ‘Bullfrogs, Bingo, and the Little House on the Prairie: How Innovators of the Great Depression Made the Best of the Worst of Times’.
It's a bit of a mixed bag, to be honest. There were definitely parts of this book I enjoyed. Voiovich delves into the ingenious ways people adapted during the Great Depression, from new farming techniques to community initiatives and the rise of new forms of entertainment. And, as a fan of bingo myself, I particularly enjoyed finding out a bit about its emergence during that time.
He has a fast-paced voice, which you'd think would make for a quick read. However, despite that, I found it took me a surprisingly long time to get through. It felt a bit repetitive in places, and I'm not entirely convinced every chapter was essential to get the general vibe across.
It was... good-ish. It didn't exactly have me running out to grab the other books in the series, but it had its moments.
Overall, a 3-star read.
I received this book as an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) from NetGalley.
