I really wanted to end this series but I ended up DNFing this book about 10% in as I just could not remember anything that happened from the last book which was released 4 years ago… there’s just been too big a gap. There is recaps on the authors website but seriously think one should be included at the start of this book.

Thank you to Net Galley and Pan Macmillan/Tor for an opportunity to read and review this book. All views are my own.
As this is not due for release until November, I will keep the review very brief and spoiler free.
Firstly, I adore this cover. I hadn't read any of this series before doing this review and the cover drew me in. I have read some previous work from Susan Dennard, The Luminaries, which I did enjoy. So naturally, i read the previous 4 before starting this book.
I think this book beautifully tied up all the loose ends from the previous book, but also enough there to have more adventures.
For a YA epic fantasy, Susan hits the mark repeatedly. I have enjoyed my journey through the Witchlands and my time with our characters. If any more books come out within this universe then I will be be throwing myself wholeheartedly at them.
