Another gripping, fast paced thriller that has you questioning everything. AJ Campbell writes thrillers that are easy to read thanks to the short chapters and style of writing. This is the third book of hers I’ve read and I’ve loved all of them. Just when you think you have everything worked out, there’s always one more shocking twist.

Another gripping read by the author, I’ll be honest I disliked most of the characters, but none more so than Lucas, such a brat! 😂 although his mother wasn’t much better! I think any man would need an escape from marrying into that family and don’t even get me started on bridezilla Carrie!
This had me questioning everything and everyone, there were some really tense parts, especially in Johnny’s flat, and at the final party. - where my mouth was aghast with Hannah shenanigans!
I loved the reasonings behind the characters motives, the past timelines and the twists that will make you want to fly through this book.

AJ Campbell is a wizard. the way the writing leaps of the pages and makes us leap up with thriller excitement is just superb. i cant get enough of how this authors talent shines in each and every part i read. i want any and all work by her and she does it time and times again with some of the best of this genre.
the pacing is gripping and speeds you through it. you cant read or turn pages quick enough.
this book brings us to Hannah and its her wedding day. but her groom isn't there and has vanished.
but then she sees someone from her past. someone she definitely doesn't want to see today or any other day. has he something to do with where her husband to be is?
but when Hannah delves into just whats happening here she finds out things that people dont ant uncovered and things that shes not sure she wanted to uncover herself!
you are left questioning alongside Hannah and as the layers of lies and secrets are unpeeled you are even more needy to read on. the tension builds alongside the findings.
i was so eager to know how in the end this would play out. with whats revealed i didn't know how Campbell would finish it and once again she does it justice.

This is the third book I have read by this author, and the third I have enjoyed. I really like her style of writing. It's short sharp chapters with a fast pace, which kept me guessing until just near the end.
I would definitely recommend.

Well, what can I say? Amanda, you've done it again.
Amazing cover ✔️
Sucked in by the prologue ✔️
Storyline that delivers ✔️
Fantastically executed characters ✔️
I was instantly gripped from the very first paragraph, and it held that grip, like a vice, every single step until the very end. This is easily my favourite by this author (so far!).
Told from the POV of Hannah, who's circling the church, ready to walk down the aisle to the love of her life, when a phone call to her father in law, changes everything. Her husband to be, Johnny, isn't coming. No explanation, no reason, no reassurances. He's gone! But did she see a very unwelcome ghost from her past outside the church? Or is her mind playing tricks?
Hannah is devastated. She's not had it easy in relationships but thought she'd found her everything in Johnny. A man who loved her wholeheartedly and not only her but her young son Lucas as well.
Hannah believes her past has come back with vengeance and revenge, and with the help of her younger sister, she starts digging into why Johnny hasn't been in contact. But, the more she delves, the more questions arise, and some shocking discoveries are made.
Are the Caxton family really as close and respectful as they show themselves to be, or do they have secrets for that they'll do anything to keep hidden.
The characterisation in this plot had me hooked. Each character was so easy to visualise, from the matriarch of the family, Angela, to the childlike innocence of Lucas. Whilst there were unlikeable characters, they all felt relatable, which is a massive bonus for me.
I absolutely loved the location. Mixed with the character portrayal, it felt like I'd fallen into a mafia subplot.
It's easily one of my favourite reads this year!
Huge thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

A fast paced amazing read! Secrets buried in the past creep into the present. Being left at the altar is anyone's type of nightmare, Hannah went through so many emotions in the book and did whatever she had to do to protect herself and Lucas. Always love AJ Campbells books and this was one of the top reads

Likes and Dislikes:
Likes :-
1 High-concept hook: A bride abandoned at the altar with sinister undertones? Instantly gripping.
2 Compelling protagonist: You feel her desperation, guilt, and growing dread with each page.
Dislikes:-
1 A few side characters could’ve used more depth.
2 The final twist may feel slightly abrupt for some readers, though still satisfying.
Overall, Left at the Altar is a gripping psychological thriller that explores how the past never really stays buried—and how one moment can destroy everything you've built.
My Rating :- 4/5.

The story starts with a bang—Johnny leaves her at the altar, and she’s left reeling. She's mortified but can't shake the feeling that he still loves her. As she digs into his disappearance, she uncovers more than she bargained for… including secrets of her own that were long buried in the past.
The beginning had me completely hooked. The setup was emotional and intriguing, pulling me right in. However, the middle dragged a bit, and while the twists were decent, I found myself wishing they packed more of a punch. That said, it was still a solid, engaging read that kept me turning pages.
3.25 stars

Left at the Altar is a heart-stopping psychological thriller packed with secrets, twists, and emotional reckoning. Huge thanks to Bookouture, NetGalley, and AJ Campbell for the opportunity to read this advance copy.
From the first page, Left at the Altar immerses you in a nightmare moment: the wedding dress is pristine, the guests are watching, and the groom has vanished. What begins as a devastating personal crisis quickly spirals into something far darker—and far more dangerous.
Campbell expertly balances emotional vulnerability with mounting suspense. The central voice is raw, complex, and unflinchingly real, and the reappearance of a face from the past serves as an electric catalyst for everything that follows. The stakes climb with every chapter, as secrets buried in the past bleed into the present.
With Campbell's trademark pacing and sharp psychological insight, this story becomes not just a mystery to solve but a deeply human reckoning. How much can we risk when everything we love is on the line?
A compulsive, breathless read that will delight fans of Freida McFadden, Jeneva Rose, and Alice Feeney.

I was 3.5 star reading for me.Good and fast pace thriller with some twist.
Hannah is shocked to learn her fiancé Johnny has left her at the altar.Determined to uncover the truth behind his disappearance, she needs to take a look at her past and see if secrets she's hiding are the reason Johnny is gone.
What exactly happened? Will she find Johnny and get explanation?
Fast thriller full of secrets, betrayal, drama and intrigue.
Thank you to Netgalley, the publishers and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I would give this book a 3.5⭐️ rating. I enjoyed it enough to keep reading. I wanted to know what happened to Johnny. I did not see the few twist that were coming. I just felt like it was missing some thing. Maybe some character depth or a little more detail of certain things. I’d recommend it to my fellow thriller friends for a filler. It wasn’t the best I’ve ever read but it was no where near a bad book.
Thanks to AJ and NetGalley for the chance to read this ARC! I appreciate yall!

Holy Moses! AJ Campbell knocks another one right out of the park. I loved everything about this book. Brilliantly written and executed, big 5 stars from me. This was a roller coaster ride from beginning to end and had me holding on for the duration. I read this in one sitting, I could not put it down. The perfect storm of tension, emotion and fantastic reveals. Run don’t walk to put this at the top of your TBR.
Thank you NetGalley, AJ Campbell and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this cracker of a book.

A bride is left without her groom on her wedding day. She is unable to contact him but his family let her know that he's changed his mind. Heartbroken, she leans on her two sisters for support and throws herself back into work (not easy when her ex-future-mother-in-law is the boss). As she tries to come to terms with the end of her relationship, she starts to uncover some family secrets and we slowly learn about her own dark past.
I sped through this one! It's not heavy and the short chapters make it easy to read in bursts. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and their histories, even if they were all particularly highly strung!
I found pace of the book slowed down a bit too much in the middle for me but the ending was a cracker. All in all, a quick, easy and entertaining thriller to read. Set in a snowy winter, I can definitely imagine reading this under a blanket on a cold, dark evening.

What an incredible fast-paced psychological thriller.
Left At The Altar is a fast-paced suspense thriller that gripped me from the beginning and kept me guessing until the end, AJ Campbell's attention to detail with the plot, characters and settings are spectacular with a story of many twists and turns.
It's Hannah's wedding day and as she reaches the church she learns her husband to be Johnny won't be there and has disappeared.
Outside the church Hannah sees someone from her past, Dean a man she thought she would never see again and nor wanted to, is he the reason for Johnny's disappearance?
Hannah is determined to find the truth and what's happened to and the whereabouts of Johnny, she has so many questions to ask and the more she delves the more questions are raised and the suspicions of something sinister is going on, and his family have something to hide, and she makes some shocking discoveries.
Left At The Altar is an incredibly addictive read, that drew me in and held me with bated breath not wanting to put this book down.
Intense and exciting reading with amazing twists and a surprising ending.

Another book from AJ Campbell that I just could not put down and had me hooked from the first page. I need to read all of this author's books because the ones I have read so far have been fantastic and this one is no exception. Hannah's story is a wild ride from the moment she's left at the alter to the end of the story. Absolutely loved every moment of this book and read it in one sitting!

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. This was a tense, engaging read. I was invested in Hannah's story throughout, and while the novel was more of a family drama than a thriller in some respects, I still found it gripping and was keen to see the story progress. I did feel the ending was resolved too quickly, and the story was left hanging in a way which didn't feel entirely satisfying, but this did not lessen my overall enjoyment of the book. I would be interested to read more by this author.

Left At The Altar is a dark and twisty psychological thriller that will have you turning the pages as fast as you can. AJ Campbell has written another intensely satisfying suspense story with all the elements of a great domestic thriller.
The day of Hannah and Johnny's wedding is finally here and she is on her way to the church with Johnny's father, who is giving her away, by her side. When they drive passed the church, Hannah becomes alarmed. Johnny's father said Johnny changed his mind and there will not be a wedding. She is sure something is not right with the story she's being fed and vows to find the truth. Uncovering the layers of lies and deception, she and her two sisters forge ahead to discover how far someone will go to hide their secrets.
This is a fast paced, tension filled read full of twists you won't see coming. This is AL'S best suspense yet and I highly recommend it.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the advanced copy.

OMG! This book seriously blew me away. I stayed up all night tearing through it and I’m still sitting here in shock trying to process that ending. My jaw hit the floor so many times I lost count! It’s such a wild ride and keeps you on your toes the whole way through.

A great author and a fast paced thriller read with lies and shocks along the way in this psychological thriller book.
The characters had their secrets and what an ending, thoroughly brilliant.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.

I really enjoyed this book. Can you imagine a worse scenario? Being told the groom isn't coming when you've arrived to be married. Instantly you feel for Hannah but the author quickly makes you aware of her dark past too. Essentially there are two stories to be tied up here. And who is the mysterious Dean who is chasing her who happens to be her sister's new boyfriend? There are plenty of twists and turns but you do get a sense that something has happened to her beloved Groom Johnny. Oh he's in Wales on business.
But she's getting texts? It's a pacy read and I'm delighted the ending was ultimately satisfying. Hannah is a likeable lead character. Carrie was pretty annoying as a bridezilla and untrustworthy sister. Thank you to author AJ and the publishers Bookouture for my eARC in return for an honest review. Denise x
