It was interesting for first two parts. It made sense and then no sense at the same time. The agenda made sense and then the way of revenge didn't make sense.
First two parts were elaborated and then last 5 - 10% was meh! I didn't expect or like the ending. Maybe because of reading mostly thrillers and mysteries related to crime, I know it's not easy for a cover-up. I feel that giving more context on Viv's past would've been more useful. Unwrapping everything in just a chapter after keeping everything out of reach from the reader might have put me off. This is an average read for me.

I just finished “The Silent Guest” by Sally Rigby, and it was a very enjoyable read! It’s a psychological thriller told from two POV’s: Vivienne, the homeowner, wife and mother; and Amelia, the house sitter.

Vivienne needs a house sitter for the family dog and Amelia applies for the job. They meet and hit it off, but there’s one problem….Amelia isn’t really a house sitter. She has more sinister plans in mind.

This book is all about revenge, and it’s got some excellent twists. If you’re a fan of quick reads like Frieda McFadden, you’ll enjoy this thriller! This is definitely a one-sitting read! I devoured it quickly!

This book earned 4 stars from me. Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for this Advanced Reader Copy. This book publishes on August 14th. Now go read it!

Sally Rigby manages to draw the suspense in this psychological thriller out to the explosive end, it is written from two POV, Vivienne and the house sitter
Vivienne Campbell has a good job. a nice house, Lola, her bright, chatty daughter, and Miles, a handsome, loving husband, the only downside was that Miles was a civilian pilot working for the military, his destinations were secret and his time at home is very limited.
When Vivienne had a chance for her and Lola to attend a family party, Miles suggested getting a house sitter to not only look after the house but also the family's adored labradoodle, Willow.
At first sight Amelia looked perfect for the job, she was pleasant but most of all both Lola and Willow took an instant liking to her.
Vivienne was a very precise person, verging on OCD, everything had a place and everything was categorized until it wasn't. Vivienne began to notice small changes, things not quite where they should be, things disappearing and then reappearing, had she unwittingly moved them ? was she loosing her mind ? disturbingly dementia could have an early onset, on was it something much more sinister ?
This is a good well written story, I have to admit that I did guess some of the ending quite early on but not all of it. I also thought, for an intelligent, professional woman she did miss a lot of red flags but other than that an enjoyable read.
Thank you Storm Publishing and Net Gallery for this ARC, my review is totally voluntary.

Slow plot but kept me intrigued throughout. Writing style was easy to read. The build up took awhile for the climax/resolution to be so quick. Want more from the twist. Plot seemed a bit outlandish.

Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for an early copy of The Silent Guest. This book started out with Vivienne being very childish and gullible, I did not like her character at all. I did figure out the twist very early on BUT I kept on reading and found I really wanted to know how it was going to play out. I didn’t expect the plot to unravel the way it did and I was happy I stuck with it. Very fast chapters, give it a try and STAY with it, good wrap up.

I am a bit of a fan of the writing of Sally Rigby having read six of her books and accumulated another 17 purchases still to read. The psychological thriller is my favourite genre. Put these two things together and I think it is a guarantee of success and so it proved. One of the best psychological thrillers I have read and I did not spot the twist or conclusion. Brilliantly told gripping tale. Thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for the chance to ARC this book.

First of all thank you netgalley and storm publishing for this beautiful Earc 🤭♥️.

This was a verrryy good thriller that I read within one sitting.

This book follows Vivienne and Amelia. Vivienne is looking for a house sitter on a website and ends up finding Amelia.

What she doesn't know is that Amelia actually has an ulterior motive.

Amelia wants Vivienne to own up to what she did in the past and what better way than to make her think that she's slowly losing her mind.😭

Mind you Vivienne has anxiety add that with the fact that her grandmother had dementia before she died. 😬 She literally thought she was losing it until Amelia slipped up and then the tables turned. 👏🏾

Honestly I fully support women's wrongs and rights so the ending was justified. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I really enjoyed this book and the plot twist which I saw from a mile away 🤭. The writing was easy to follow and the characters were well written.🙂✨

Unpredictable.,
When Vivienne Campbell requires a house sitter, Amelia is only too keen to make herself available for the position. Amelia, however, has a sinister agenda and Vivienne has no idea who she is. Well woven, slow burn psychological suspense with plenty of twists and turns and unexpected events. Edgy and unpredictable.

Its a slow burn and it felt a bit predictable to start with so I wasn't sure if this would be a book worth writing home but omg, did that all quickly change! Yes, its character based and slow but that build so much tension and I swear my heart was in my throat for a good half of the book. There are so many plot threads perfectly woven together and all cumulative in the most perfect finale. Its all just so vividly brought to life and had me questioning everyhting, including myself! Brilliant

The Silent Guest is a fast-paced domestic thriller that kept me flipping pages, needing to know why Amelia was so angry at Vivienne and what she planned to do about it.

The story centers on two women: Vivienne, a successful woman with a seemingly perfect life, and Amelia, who’s been hired to house-sit for her… but clearly has something bigger (and more sinister) in mind. From the start, it’s clear Amelia wants revenge but we don’t know why. That mystery kept me hooked.

As Amelia starts playing mind games and trying to make Vivienne question her own sanity, the tension ramps up. There’s a smaller twist partway through that I won’t spoil, and then a major twist later on. Funny enough, I guessed it but totally by accident! I had a random thought like, “Wouldn’t it be wild if this happened?”… and that’s exactly what did. 😂

Even though I guessed it, I still thought the twist was clever, and there were definitely clues sprinkled throughout. If you’re someone who likes to piece things together as you go, this book gives you the breadcrumbs. It’s smartly written and well-paced, with enough suspense to keep things moving quickly.

Overall, this was a solid, entertaining read. I’d definitely recommend it to fans of domestic thrillers or psychological suspense.

Big thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

📚ARC REVIEW 📚

The Silent Guest ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When Vivienne Campbell needs a house/dog sitter, Amelia makes sure she is the perfect candidate. She’s friendly and comes highly recommended. Amelia will become Vivienne’s friend, gain her trust and then start her plan. After all, she has been waiting years to get revenge for what Vivienne has done.

This book had me hooked within the first chapter. The writing style and fast-paced, short chapters made it easy to binge. Each chapter left you wanting more. I kinda figured out the twist but didn’t expect that ending. I also liked the dual POV. Overall, this was really good. Perfect for fans of Freida McFadden!

This book will publish on August 14, 2025. Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for my advanced readers copy. This is my honest and voluntary opinion.

Loved it! A one day read for me because I was so invested in how Vivienne and Amelia were going to duel it out. The twist came totally out of left field! The short, POV characters moved quickly; the intrigue intensifying with every turn of the page. I liked how it was written. This was my first read by Sally Rigby. I’m anxious to checkout other titles by her. I highly recommend The Silent Guest.
Thank You to NetGalley, Storm Publishing, and Sally Rigby for the pre-approved access to devour and thoroughly enjoy this ARC.

Pet sitter psychologocial thrillers always seem more tense to me and this one was no exception. I was on edge and couldn't stop turning the pages and the ending was just so fitting and made me smile suprisingly

Silent Guest immediately hooked me — the writing, the pacing, and the way the story unfolds had me flying through the pages. I thought I had the twists figured out early on, and while I definitely caught onto a few things, I never had the full picture, which made the reveals still feel satisfying and a little shocking.

The tension builds slowly but effectively, and I really enjoyed how the characters stuck together once the truth started to come out. It gave the thriller some emotional depth I didn’t expect, which I appreciated.

This is a well-executed, layered psychological thriller perfect for readers who love a little revenge, a touch of gaslighting, and a protagonist who isn’t quite what they seem. A solid, gripping read I definitely recommend to fans of Shari Lapena and Claire Douglas.

Wowzers! I didn’t see that coming!

Vivienne hires a dog sitter, Amelia, and the two women become friends, or so Vivienne thinks, because Amelia isn’t who she says she is and she’s hellbent on revenge.

This was fast paced, super tense and twisty - I loved it! The characters were brilliantly written, whether I loved them or loathed them and I definitely didn’t predict the big twist!

5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Sally Rigby and Storm for an ARC of this book

The moment I got my hands on this ARC, it jumped straight to the top of my TBR pile. That title? That cover? Totally irresistible. And I’m glad I gave in.

The Silent Guest is a fast-paced, addictive read, perfect for devouring in one sitting, preferably poolside with a cold drink in hand. The tension builds slowly but steadily, keeping you hooked until the last page. And just when I thought I'd figured it out....boom! A twist I did not see coming.

It’s a sharp, binge-worthy thriller that explores trust, identity, and how far someone will go for revenge. While the ending felt a touch rushed, it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the ride.

Highly recommend this one to fans of Freida McFadden and Shari Lapena. This was my first dive into Sally Rigby’s world, and I can confidently say that it won’t be my last.

Many thanks to @stormbooks_co for gifting me this ARC via @netgalley in exchange for my honest review. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to read this one early. The Silent Guest is available for preorder now and is expected to be released on August 14, 2025.

Sally Rigby delivers another gripping, twist-filled page-turner that kept me reading late into the night. The pacing is tight, the tension builds masterfully, and just when I thought I had it figured out—boom, another twist!

The characters were complex and compelling, and the storyline was perfectly layered with just the right amount of psychological suspense. A fantastic addition to the series and an absolute must-read for crime thriller fans.

Thank you to the author and publisher for the ARC—I devoured it in one sitting!

A fast paced thriller that has all the right moments, The Silent Guest was finished in one sitting (while I was getting tattooed)! Rigby paints a great picture of fear and questioning. A short little read that can get you out of a slump. I like the use of multi-POV to show the way emotions change throughout the novel. Ending definitely was a surprise!

Thank you NetGalley and Storm for the opportunity to review this eARC in exchange for an honest review!

This book was very intriguing, and it kept me hooked from the first page. We follow two POV's and both are very VERY interesting. I don't want to go into a lot of details because I always feel it's better to go blind into thrillers, and this one is no exception.

I wouldn't really say that this book is fast paced, cause there are a lot of slow moments, but it definitely makes you come back for more. The only issue I had is with the ending, which, unlike the rest of the book, was very rushed.

Thank you to Netgalley and Storm Publishing for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion! Needless to say, as always, all thoughts are my own and I have not been influenced in any way.
