I had so much fun with this book. ๐Ÿค ๐ŸŒน

Wild Rose gave me exactly what I wanted โ€” sizzling chemistry, small-town charm, and a grumpy cowboy who falls hard (despite trying very hard not to). I devoured this in one sitting and already know Iโ€™ll be recommending it to fellow romance readers looking for their next comfort read.

Rose is a total handful in the best way โ€” chaotic, stubborn, but also deeply relatable as she tries to start over and prove sheโ€™s more than her reputation. And Wilder? Ugh, heโ€™s every grumpy romance hero done right โ€” all scowls and quiet protectiveness, the kind of guy who catches you when you fall and then pretends it meant nothing (but of course it meant everything). The slow-burn tension? Absolutely worth it.

I also really enjoyed the emotional layers tucked beneath the banter and heat โ€” Roseโ€™s self-growth, Wilderโ€™s trust issues, and the way they gradually open up to each other. The brotherโ€™s best friend trope can be tricky, but this one worked so well for me. And that ending? So satisfying.

Iโ€™ll definitely be picking up the next book in the series. If you love your romances full of heart, heat, and cowboy chaos, Wild Rose wonโ€™t disappoint.

4 stars โ€” sweet, spicy, and exactly what I was in the mood for.

I love cowboy romance books. I have read so many and have a shelf dedicated to them in my home library, so I'm pretty used to the basic tropes and general ideas for how most of them go. This book was no exception, it was pretty similar to the other ones that I've read, which is nice especially for the readers who pick up these genres with a specific outcome and plot in mind they want to read.

The characters were mostly likeable and fun, the author did a good job of illustrating the tension and build up of the romance between them. I enjoyed their banter and back and forth a great deal. Their dynamic of "brother's best friend" and "boss/employee" was really interesting to read about.

I did have some trouble getting behind the FMC in the beginning. I thought she was a little too young and childish in the way she acted, but that gets explained a bit more as you get into the story so I came around to her. I really think the book could have been longer, I think it would have been nice to have the characters a bit more fleshed out and connection to them all. I'm very curious about some of the side characters and the MMC's family, and I'm hoping this author writes more books in this world, it definitely seems setup in a way that there will be more, but I hope for a peek into their lives.

It was really nice having an FMC that was very "do it myself" and spunky, she was a spitfire and I liked that a lot. Overall I thought this was a fun read, it was quick and light, and it left me wanting more from that universe, which is always a good thing in my mind.

How many grumpy cowboy romances can I read?
The limit does not exist.

Rose & Wilder ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿค
City girl x ranch cowboy boss
Grumpy x sunshine
Boss x employee
Best friends little sister
Age gap

The banter was bantering.
Spice to plot ratio was perfect.

Rose is only 22, I remember my maturity level too at that age so her actions track, especially with her past that we come to learn about.
Little trouble maker tho

Wilder, give me all the grumpy.
I love a third act break up. And the grovel here was solid.

Colorado ranch setting

I first requested this book because of the cover (how could I not?!) but then I read the blurb and knew I needed it ASAP!

Small town? Cowboy romance? Brothers best friend? Yes, yes and YES.

I wasnโ€™t particularly fond of Rose as a character as I found her to be quite immature and irritating. Wilder was a solid character with all of the good book boyfriend vibes. The romance was good, but I did find myself getting frustrated with Rose a lot.

Wild Rose was a promising start to the Blue River Springs series and Iโ€™m looking forward to following along!

Overall, I rate this book 3.5 stars.

I loved the chemistry between Rose & Wilder.
The storyline was very heartfelt. I especially loved seeing the brothers interact (Wilder & Dallas)
This is everything you would want from a cowboy romance.
The tension , The Gruff Cowboy , The fuck it moment everything you need for a great cowboy book *wink*

Before I even began talking about this book, I want to talk about how absolutely stunning the cover is. It immediately grabbed my attention, and combined with the blurb, was the reason I requested this book on NetGalley. This is my first book by Roxanne Tully, and while there are cameos from characters in her other series, I donโ€™t think you need to have read her previous work to dive into this new series.

Overall, I did like this story. I really enjoyed the setting. I like a small town romance and I also like a cowboy romance and I think the mix of time spent on the ranch and in the town worked really well. I found the brothers and their dynamics quite interesting. There are quite different from one another.

Wilder, the MMC, is the middle brother and heโ€™s currently the one primarily responsible for the ranch as his older brother Dallas is mourning the loss of his fiancรฉ. Heโ€™s starting to become very overwhelmed by the workload and needs help on the ranch. His best friend, and ranch chef, Wes, volunteered his younger sister for the job. I liked Wilder a lot and he was good at admitting his mistakes for the most part.

Rose is an artist living in New York City. She dropped out of her degree in the final semester. Sadly, I wasnโ€™t a huge fan of her. I expected her to mature a lot more than she did over the course of the book. There wasnโ€™t enough growth for me personally and her โ€œfeistyโ€ personality came off a bratty and immature. She quite literally ran away from her mistakes. I also didnโ€™t love how everything with Wes was handled. I would have loved more of a proper heart to heart between them.

Overall, an enjoyable cowboy romance with a likable mmc and a feisty but immature FMC. The author has set up at least two more stories in this series.

Thanks to Embla Book, Roxanne Tully, NetGally for this eARC!

What a great start to a new series!!

I absolutely loved Rose. Sheโ€™s impulsive and a free spirit (HO IS YOU ME??) and overall just a relatable character! And Wilder?? Never not gonna be obsessed with a grumpy cowboy. And this combo always provides the best banter.
