This book was really interesting! I enjoyed the plot and the characters, and I would absolutely recommend it to others!

Do I love a cowboy romance? Yes!
Was Wild Rose any exception?
No!

I absolutely loved this book. I love the fresh start that Rose needed and the calm and gentle understanding that Wilder gave her without being too over protective (despite him wanting to be).

The spice levels were a good mix with the story being told and the dual POV worked really well with the characters.
While I do feel that some of the book was rushed the communication between the main characters was just exactly like what would happen if life got in the way in real life.

Quick summary: Rose moves from New York to a Colorado ranch after a breakup and ends up working for Wilder, a grumpy and emotionally guarded cowboy. At first, they clash, but over time they open up to each other and form a connection. Both of them are dealing with past trauma, and the story follows their emotional growth, their relationship, and what it means to feel at home.

Review: This was a fun and cheesy romance with a cowboy setting and a small-town feel. I liked the setup and thought the chemistry between Rose and Wilder felt believable. Rose has some emotional layers and has clearly been hurt in the past, and I liked that complexity. It’s mostly a character-driven story, and the pacing felt consistent throughout. The writing is modern and casual, and I thought the dialogue was mostly charming.

There is a third act breakup that didn’t totally work for me. It felt predictable and a little cheesy. The story is moderately spicy, and while both characters have trauma, the focus is more on Rose.

It definitely felt like I was reading a cowboy romance. I would recommend it to anyone who likes cowboy or small-town romances, and I would definitely read the next one if it’s about Dallas and Willow.

This one was tough for me to review… On paper, this book is perfect for me:

✅ Grumpy/Sunshine
✅ Cowboy/Rancher
✅ Brother’s Best Friend
✅ Age Gap

But there was just something about it that didn’t fully connect with me… I think it might have been the writing itself? It wasn’t bad per say, and I’m really struggling to pinpoint exactly what I didn’t love, but I found myself really pushing to finish this.

The story was fine, the characters were fine, the chemistry was kind of meh.

That said - I’m very intrigued to read a future story about Wilder’s brother, Dallas, and I will give this author another shot.

Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC.

The first visit to blue river springs … and what a visit it was! A must read for fans of Elise Silver and Lyla Sage, this brother best-friend, wild girl, romance was a fun read and exactly why you want from a cowboy romance.

It felt like this book did a lot of ground work (as the first in the series) introducing lots of characters and setting that picturesque scene for the ranch, small town vibes of the story. Had me hooked on the up and coming stories in the series in the best way … but without feeling too out of place, it worked quite well into this book too.

The romance between our FMC and MMC, was hot and feisty, in the way cowboy romance does best! There is a fair bit of miscommunication I’d say from both characters, that for me someone’s felt frustrating but it did keep in interested and keen to turn the page, which I suppose is the point! That’s more personal preference than anything, and I also found myself a little annoyed at the choices our FMC was making but as you learn more about her story, and what she’s processing as the book progresses it becomes more understandable, but occasionally had my wanting to throw my kindle at the wall 🤣.

Overall a great, fun read, if you love a cowboy romance this is a no brainer … I already know this will series will be an automatic read for me, and this opening book did a great job at inviting us in! Can’t wait for the next one!

Thanks to NetGalley and Embla books for access to this arc!

I really like ranch romances and love a grumpy sunshine story so this sounded right up my street.

Rose goes to work at the Ranch where her brother is the chef and owner’s best friend. She hasn’t had an easy time of it that last few years and hasn’t found her place yet.

Wilder had to have his arm twisted to bring on his friends little sister. He doesn’t have time for a flighty young woman on his ranch, but would do anything for his friend.

Rose is light hearted, artistic and free spirited. Wilder is grumpy, hard working, dedicated, loyal and a bit closed off. They shouldn’t hit it off, but they do.

She brings some sunshine to his life and he gives her some peace.

I must admit I wasn’t a huge Rose fan. She just felt a bit immature for me. She did grow on me but I was definitely more of a Wilder fan than a Rose one.

I liked the other characters and can see a few new relationships coming in the rest of the series and liked the hint of conflict with another ranch which added a nice touch to the story.

3.5 stars

Thank you to Netgalley and Roxanne Tully for the ARC.

A cowboy romance that I enjoyed reading. The characters I absolutely loved; Rose was such a brilliantly written character that I loved her relatablility and that she was determined to move on from her past and restart her life. Wilder was such a brilliant, grumpy character who determined not to get into a relationship following the breakdown of his previous relationship.

This book was perfectly written, and I loved how the story developed and the ending was perfect.

If that cover doesn't suck you in I don't know what will?!

Maybe the fact it has a grumpy cowboy? A brother's best friend and a workplace romance? What is not to love!

Initially I wasn't too sure if I was going to like Rose because she is very impulsive, worried about the consequences later type of person. Of course in every book I imagine I am the FMC and this is the opposite of my character so was harder to resonate. However, once you get to know her reasons behind her actions you warm up to her, she also grows a lot during the book.

On the other hand, Wilder I instantly loved! He is possessive and protective. Despite his own broken heart and stresses he is still trying to heal Rose. He tames her and she brings out his wild side. Together they just work really well.

Book 2 already is screaming my name, I reckon Dallas is going to make one hell of a MMC.

Roxanne has created such a wonderful world and characters, if you're looking for a cowboy romance don't hesitate to pick this one up.

Thank you so much to the author and NetGalley for a chance to read this an an e-arc!

What a great grumpy cowboy book, good storyline written well, funny moments and the book had me hooked from the start.
Would recommend this book for anyone who loves a good cowboy and small town romance.

This book was good, but very intense. Anything bad that could happen did, it felt constant with the heaviness. It was a good book, but not a good book if you just want to escape. The setting was cute, the plot was nice, the steam was excellent!

I really, really loved this book 🩷🩷🩷

It gives off Elsie Silver, Lyla Sage and even a bit of Laura Pavlov’s small town vibes. If you’ve read them and are looking for something similar…this might be it!

Welcome to Blue River Ranch home to the Thorne brothers and their dad. Wilder Thorne is having to run the ranch while his brother Dallas is unable to. Luckily his best friend and ranch chef, Wesley has a little sister who needs a summer job 😉

Enter Rose Evans. Rose and Wilder had met briefly when she was younger and from the moment she returns to the ranch….slow burn and angst abound.

I just loved their dynamic. They weren’t necessarily enemies to lovers, but the back and forth was really fun while the slow started burning. Watching them discover each other’s hidden secrets was beautiful and Wilder’s protective side was super swoony. It was fun to watch them fall in love 🩷🩷

Looking forward to Dallas and his book. I can’t wait to go back to Blue River Ranch.

This book was everything! It was so sweaty, and the banter was perfect. What a great cowboy romance to read this summer! I’ve never read anything like this that gripped me so much. This author will be an auto buy from here forward for me!

Brother’s best friend, troublemaker FMC grumpy/sunshine? SOLD!
We meet the grumpy cowboy, Wilder, trying to balance ranch life and keeping afloat while also helping his brother who is grieving.

Finally, caving in Wilder decided he needed help. His best friend suggest his sister Rose could be the person to help.

Rose, she was “reckless” and needed to get away from her NY city life.
She came to the ranch not expecting to like it. The banter with Wilder was thickkkk! These two loved to go back and fourth. But the miss communication was a little annoying but I mean they figured it out.

Thank you Embla Books and Netgalley for the advance copy of Wild Rose.

Firstly thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the arc of this book for an honest review.

Ah i LOVED this book. It was a cute, little read. It's a small town, cowboy, age gap, brothers best friend romance and i ate it up. It was so so easy to read, the pace was quick and easy and the characters were all so loveable.

Grumpy x sunshine vibes. Wilder the grumpy brooding cowboy hires his best friends little sister for the summer. She's chaotic to say the least, but she's also extremley misunderstood. Wilder starts peeling her layers off to try to understand her more whilst falling for her in the meantime.

I loved Rose (the fmc) in this. She was crazy, chaotic, but really lovable. She was vunrable and just simply misunderstood. I love her character development in this too.

Overall i would highly recommend this. It's an easy small town romance with spice but it has a good story too. I like the balance and the tension between the two main characters. I also love how invovled the side characters are, it makes me love them already and super excited for their books. Loved it!

The miscommunication made me want to pull my hair out. But I also couldn't put the book down.
I love me a good cowboy romance, and this checked all the boxes.
Rose and Wilder are both adorable together and the banter was definitely my favorite part throughout this book!

I’ve never met a cowboy romance I didn’t love, and this was no exception.

The banter was incredible, and I loved seeing their relationship grow. I thought this was the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. And the groveling at the end??? So freaking good. Can’t wait for Dallas and Willow’s story.

The story of Rose and Wilder. An opposites attract romance. I liked how it was told from both points of view.
