I love a cowboy romance.. grumpy cowboys, small town charm, all the good tropes but something about this one fell a little flat for me. It had all the ingredients I usually enjoy: a brother’s best friend romance, age gap, workplace tension, and that city-girl-meets-cowboy dynamic. But I found myself wanting a bit more from the characters and storyline.

I liked Wilder and Rose for the most part and the setting was great, but I struggled to really connect with them. There’s some miscommunication (which isn’t my favourite), and to be honest I found myself more intrigued by Dallas than I was about our main couple in this book.

That said, it was still a fun and easy read, I flew through it across a day or two, and I’ll definitely be picking up book two to see what happens with Dallas and Willow!

Read if you like:
🤠 brother’s best friend
🐎 grumpy cowboy
🌾 small town charm
👩‍💼 workplace romance
🏙️ city girl x cowboy
📚 age gap romance

Rose gets a summer job at Wilder's ranch through her brother. They don't get off to the best of starts, but is she just what he needs? Looking forward to the test of this series.

🌹🐎 Book Review: Wild Rose by Roxanne Tully ☀️💋

This spicy, slow-burn, brother’s-best-friend romance absolutely sizzles! 🔥💥 From page one, Rose and Wilder’s chemistry leaps off the page and trust me, it only gets hotter. 😮‍💨💘

Rose 🌸 is everything you want in a heroine: fierce, funny, a little chaotic, and totally unapologetic. Wilder 🐂 is the ultimate grumpy cowboy with a soft heart he tries (and fails) to hide. Their tension? Delicious. The banter? Sharp. The accidental touches and stolen glances? Chef’s kiss 💋🤌

You’ll swoon over:
✨ The forced proximity tension (hello, ranch life and tight quarters)
✨ Grumpy x sunshine perfection 😤☀️
✨ Healing from past wounds with genuine emotional depth 💔➡️❤️
✨ A small-town summer romance you won’t forget 🍑🌾

I laughed, I blushed, I wanted to throw my Kindle a few times — all signs of a perfect romance read. 📱😅

This book was so entertaining! The combo of a free-spiritied fmc and a cowoy mmc needs to be studied, cause why does it hit everytime??

The miscommunication drove me insane and genuinly had me throwing my kindle and screaming into my pillow LIKE TALK PEOPLE TALK.
Rose def drove me insane at times, like girl why is you acting like this?? Anyways. The chemistry between the mc's was super cute!

Overall, this was a solid read and I am very excited to see whos book is going to be next!

Sent to a ranch to chill… but accidentally fell for a grumpy, gorgeous cowboy instead? Rose, girl, I get it 👀💥

Wilder is broody, bossy, and 100% book boyfriend material. Rose? A wild-hearted queen with a spark. Together? 🔥 off the charts.

If you’re into:
✨Brother’s best friend
✨Grumpy x sunshine
✨Cowboy tension so thick you could rope it

…then saddle up, babe. This one’s for you. 🤠💋

3.75 rounded to 4

This was a pretty cute cowboy small-town romance. Rose, needing a break from New York, joins her brother at the ranch—owned by his best friend, of course—for a summer job. Wilder needs help on the ranch after being left short-handed due to a tragedy. He reluctantly hires his best friend’s sister, even though Wesley does nothing but tell everyone how immature and unpredictable she is.

Wilder and Rose were cute together, but they cannot communicate to save their lives. They are constantly fighting due to miscommunication and misinterpretation, which was very frustrating. They need a mediator.

There was a lot of setup for the next book. Many plot points were explored and then left hanging. I wanted to know what was going on, since there was so much focus on these other subjects, and now I just have to wait for the next book. I would definitely continue reading the series!

🤠 YEE HAW, BESTIES! I AM IN LOVE WITH WILDER BLUE!

If you love:
✨ Brother’s best friend
✨ Grumpy cowboy x sunshine city girl
✨ Ranch romance with allll the tension
✨ Accidental touches that make you SCREAM

…then Wild Rose is IT.

Wilder? Broody, overworked, and way too hot for his own good. Rose? A total firecracker who gets under his skin in the BEST way. Their banter? Chef’s kiss. Their slow burn tension? Had me kicking my feet like a teenager. And when Wilder finally softens for her? DEAD.

The ranch vibes, the found family, the side characters (Dallas & Wesley need their own books NOW) ... I was hooked from page one. This was the perfect mix of sweet, spicy (like 2/5 🌶️ but with all the SWOONY moments), and small town charm.

Roxanne Tully, you have my whole cowboy lovin’ heart. I’ll be first in line for the rest of the Blue River Ranch crew.

📖 4/5 ★ – If Elsie Silver or Lyla Sage are your jam, add this to your TBR IMMEDIATELY.

“Put your morals aside and kiss me, cowboy.” 🐎💋

Thank you to NetGalley, Roxanne Tully, and Embla Books for the eARC of this book.

Be still, my cowboy romance heart! I’ve been in need of a new cowboy romance and Wild Rose was absolutely perfect for me. I loved the banter between Wilder and Rose, and all their accidentally physical touches had such great tension. The tenderness that developed between them is so sweet, and such a great combination with that fiery banter.

This book was such a treat! Wilder and Rose are such a great pairing. The ranch setting really enhanced their dynamic, and I really felt like these were two people who were good for each other. Wilder standing up for Rose and supporting her finding her voice is so meaningful & made them feel even more special.

It’s an absolute given that I’m going to need to read the rest of the stories about Blue River Ranch and its employees. I’m soooo ready for Wesley’s story and to see Dallas find happiness once more. Roxanne Tully definitely has me hooked!!!

Thank you to Embla Books for the opportunity to read and review this book! I received a free advance copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Oh I had so much fun at Blue River Ranch! I absolutely loved everything about this place and the people who live there.
The basis of this story is your typical cowboy romance but the character development and additional pieces make this so much more!
I loved the dual POV, getting both perspectives on situations. Especially when we had the miscommunications. Normally I get annoyed with this trope but this story made me enjoy it and desperate to find out what was going to happen and how they’re going to come to terms with their issues.
Rose is such a spunky fire cracker, not afraid to get her hands dirty, cause mischief and do what she wants. She is so brave and strong. Her back story makes me love her so much more.
Wilder is your classic hunky cowboy and I am here for it. He runs the ranch, the crew, and helps care for his grieving brother. He has a past that puts up walls with no intention of breaking them down.
I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow and seeing them grow together.
I loved the setting and felt it was done quite well. I just want to go and see this ranch.
I tip my hat to Roxanne for writing this one!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Embla for the opportunity to view this as an ARC. The opinions are solely that of my own.

This book was exactly what I needed to read right now. Sweet, a little swoony, with just the right amount of small-town charm and cowboy vibes to melt your heart. I really liked the characters—they felt real, relatable, and easy to root for. The dynamic between them had that perfect mix of tension and warmth.

The writing was super smooth and engaging—I flew through it without even realising. It didn’t feel over the top or heavy, just that comforting kind of romance that wraps you up and gives you all the feels.

If you’re in the mood for something light, feel-good, and full of heart, this one’s a perfect pick. Sometimes, the right book finds you at the right moment—and for me, Wild Rose was just that

Wild Rose Honest ARC Review

4.5⭐️
Perfect for fans of Elsie Silver and Lyla Sage, this small town cowboy romance series will knock your boots off!

Seriously, though this was SO good!! It pulled me in right away, the banter was great and the storyline was well written. The characters were complex and developed further throughout the novel. The spice was hot!

After a devastating loss, Dallas took time to mourn rather than running the ranch with his brother Wilder. I’m a difficult position, Wilder attempted to run the ranch short staffed when his best friend Wes offered to invite his sister to help out.

One adventurous night after another and things become quite interesting. Oh, and that angst…
Wild Rose is definitely one to add to your TBR!

𝒲𝒾𝓁𝒹 ℛ𝑜𝓈𝑒 is a super cute small town, cowboy romance with some of my favorite tropes. If you are looking for some more cowboys to binge after finishing a few other (ahem VERY popular) similar series, this one will scratch that itch for sure.

The characters are fairly well developed, and just imperfect enough to be loveable, the amount of spice was just perfect for me. I had a few minor editing qualms (men do not barrel race, thank you very much), but overall, I enjoyed this sweet read, and I loved our wild, impulsive, FMC, Rose. I will definitely be checking out the rest of this series.

I love this book and I can't wait for the rest of the series!

Wild Rose is a sweet and fun cowboy romance with all the best tropes.
I enjoyed the dynamic between the FMC and MMC as well as the side characters.
The descriptions for the ranch were perfect and I got a really genuine feel of being there.
The side characters stories are well done and definitely got me interested in reading their books.
The romance between the MC's was sweet, but maybe a bit underdeveloped for me.
Overall, I did really enjoy the story and will want to read the next books.

We’ve got:
🤠 Brother’s best friend
📋 Boss & assistant
🏡 Small town charm
😤 Grumpy cowboy (him)
🌞 Sunshine artist (her)

If Elsie Silver and Lyla Sage are your jam, I think this will hit the sweet spot! The setting—a small Colorado town full of swoony cowboys—is adorable, and the cast of characters makes the whole thing feel like the setup for a whole series (fingers crossed!).

Rose is a bit of a hot mess, but in that relatable, “oh no, I’ve made another impulsive life decision” way. She’s creative, chaotic, and absolutely not ranch-ready… but when her brother convinces his best friend Wilder (aka the grumpiest, hottest cowboy around) to hire her as his assistant for the summer, sparks definitely fly.

The romance is open-door but pretty tame—I’d say 2/5 on the spice scale. It’s more about the slow burn and emotional tension than the heat.

I enjoyed this one, but didn’t totally fall head-over-boots. Still, it’s a sweet summer escape with a whole herd of cowboy potential.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC! Releases July 23, 2025. 🐎💫

Loved this one! Wilder (MMC) is the brooding, gruff cowboy who is as protective as he is hardworking. He’s managing Blue River Ranch on his own, stressed and stretched to his limits. Rose, (FMC) his best friend’s sister who is a city girl with a free spirit, trying to heal from past trauma.
The back-and-forth banter between these was great! They challenge each other, pull each other out of their comfort zones, and support one another through their individual journeys of healing. Wilder shows his softer side, especially with the way he steps up for Rose. What I loved most was how Rose’s growth really shone through. Despite her wild side, her vulnerability made her so relatable and lovable. Wilder also had some healing and growth as he learns to accept his attraction for Rose. There’s also great side characters with sweet moments of healing, not just between Rose and Wilder but also within their community. I can’t wait to read more in this series! I am so excited for the next one!

If you love grumpy cowboys and fiery, independent women finding their way back to themselves, this book is perfect for you! 💕

This was cute and an easy palate cleanser kinda book but there were multiple times when grovelling should've happened and it didn't

Yes, Yes, Yes

The beginning. Meeting those who make Blue River Springs

I absolutely loved this story about Wilder & Rose. Wild Rose

There's cowboys, redemptions, loss, secrets, a pink cowboy hat, rival ranches and speed dating.

Everything you'd want in a small town cowboy romance with a slight twist to make it feel less like every other story with this trope.

I loved every minute and can't wait to read Dallas & Willow's story next. Four star read!!

Thank you NetGalley.
And a major thank you to Embla Books for granting my wish to read this story.

thankyou @emblabooks for the arc !

another small town cowboy romance ? yes, but this felt so refreshing and unique ?!
We’ve got brothers best friend, city girl x cowboy, grumpy x sunshine- and it’s delightful.

The characters are so well written, complex and loveable.
I adore Rose, she’s wild (get it) and impulsive, loving and kind. Our MMC Wilder is the quintessential overworked cowboy, grumpy with a filthy mouth. Their chemistry and banter is such a joy to read. I loved the gentle nods to what i can only hope will be the next books taking place at Blue River Ranch with the side characters- i’m praying for Willow to have her own book… and maybe Dusty :o

I loved this story so much

“Put your morals aside and kiss me, cowboy.”

“You’re not the kind of girl a sane man would walk away from.”
