Oh, how I loved this book! While Autumn Meadows might be exactly what Rosie needed in her life, this book is exactly what I needed in mine! I adore Anita Faulkner's books - her previous two rom-coms are in my top reads of all time, and this one firmly joins them!

A wonderful story of charming, relatable Rosie, grumpy and gorgeous Zain, and the most beautiful and quirky farm that I really wish I could visit!

Like all of Anita's characters, they aren't just characters. They are surely real-life friends who will stay with you for many years to come, and reading this book is like having a good ol' natter with a dear friend.

A book to lose yourself in as the weather cools down and the nights draw in. Laugh-out-loud funny, feel-good grumpy/sunshine romance, and the most hilarious three-legged cat called Steve! What more could anyone want? It's warm, witty, and completely wonderful! As cosy as being wrapped up in a blanket in front of a crackling fire while drinking a hot chocolate filled with marshmallows!

Rosie describes the farm as being like a hug on an autumn day, and that's exactly what this gorgeous book is! A beautiful read sprinkled with autumnal magic and pumpkin-spiced joy! My favourite read of the year so far by a pumpkiny mile!

‘Rosie and Him’ best line ever and best name for a boat ever! It made me chuckle when I first read it and I’m still chuckling now, along with a certain theme tune playing in my head. 😂 Probably not the intended take away from the book, but it certainly tickled me; oh and let’s not forget Steve, the hairless cat that wears denim jackets. I need to visit this retreat!! 😂

I loved the whole book, it was peppered with funny one liners and laugh out loud situations, I mean walking in on your boyfriend with a robotic sex bot, that an AI controlled house talks to, comedy gold!

Rosie was a great characters, down on her luck and feeling very isolated and lonely, so very relatable. I loved her determination and bravery. Zain is also lonely but doesn’t realise it, he’s built walls to protect himself and think bring alone is best but meeting Rosie really opens his eyes and his heart. It was so sweet to see him slowly opening up to Rosie and her retreat ideas.

The retreat was a wonderful slice of heaven, I started off like Rosie cringing and jumping when a spider was spotted, to taking deep cleansing breaths and only seeing beauty, friendship and cleansing freedom. The back to nature ideas were perfect, who wouldn’t want to sleep in a tree house and look out over a field of pumpkins? Some great autumn descriptions and I learnt a lot about the different types of pumpkins too, I didn’t know there were so many. I found all of Zain’s nerdy talks very informative and his geekiness made me like him more.

A fantastic autumn read that everyone should read with pumpkins glowing and hot chocolate steaming next to them.

Thank you Netgalley and Anita Faulkner for the opportunity to read this ARC!!

Pumpkins, tree houses, Demin wearing cats, and more pumpkins! The perfect cosy autumnal romance that I couldn't put down!

When life throws Rosie several cyber curve balls, she ends up on Agnes' farm surrounded by wild swimming and Pumkins. When Agnes asks her for help, Rosie somehow ends up agreeing, and the only thing in her way is Zain - the sexy but reclusive pumkin farmer.

This book was the perfect intoxicating mix of autumn, longing and and cosy log cabins. I couldn't put it down. I was transported to Agnes' farm and the cosy log cabin.

The found family trope in this book really shows the power of women supporting women and how having someone behind you can change your whole world.

The grumpy x sunshine trope has you routing for Rosie and Zain from the beginning, and you can't help falling with them.

I think this will be a perfect autumnal romance, and I challenge anyone to put it down!!

Rosie and Zain are adorable. The setting is just gorgeous and I promise this book will make you want to go and stay there. Believe me, you will dream of this being a real place. It would certainly be fully booked if it were! It's hard to put this down once you start. Anita has managed to weave the most gorgeous plot with current day issues too.

You Had Me at Pumpkin Patch will make you laugh, make you swoon and above all leave you feeling gooey, cosy and warm. The perfect autumn read!

I really enjoyed this book, it followed the standard 'romance' timeline but with a bit of added mystery through out with the orange envelopes. A cozy easy read to take us into the Pumpkin Spices Season.

i was smiling out loud, i was laughing out loud. i was loving inside. this book was everything i needed today. i got totally lost in it. and its one of those books that you come out feeling better and that can not be underestimated in its brilliance. for an author to lift us, create a safe and cosy place for us is something i will forever be thankful to the authors and books they hand over to us.
this book has all the feels you wish for going in. and i was there for every second of it. and also some really relevant themes surrounding AI. i know this is an especially difficult issue for creatives and authors right now. i think Anita handled this part really well as it would be forgivable to totally use a book to rage against AI lol. Anita didn't, which is why she is the professional author and i am not haha.
this book brings us Rosie. shes not been having the best time and is heading home. Ai has done a dirty on her life and basically taken it from her.
but on the way home she breaks down and finds herself searching for help. and this somehow, as is wonderful in these books, leads her to staying and not asking for help with her car but given help to them.
getting stuck in she soon finds this little place is sparking all sorts in her. from her writing to the not wanted(yeh right) stirrings for her very handsome neighbour Zain. but this man is a grumpy stubborn man stuck in his ways so hes clearly not going to be worth her time. right, Rosie?
Rosie time here is going to give her more than she ever could imagine. its brings the light back into her life and heart. it shows her peace, it show her inspiration and it gets her to thinking and maybe finding what she really wants.
and along the way she forges new ways, new friendships and now wants more than just for herself. because she wants to help this place and her new found friend Agnes to keep on her land and not have to sell to people who wants to tear her life down and with it get rid of the animals she loves.
oh did we mention the cat yet? haha main character energy right there and deserves that title.
well, if Agnes needs someone to come stay then im in. ill come! because this place felt lovely and the description soaked right into my skin. the place, the people, the colours it was all so immersive and i was really impressed with the writing.
Anita has given us a gorgeous book in every way you want it to be.

I absolutely love Autumnal books, there never seems to be many though. Most romance books seem to be either summer or festive reads, which I also like, but I was thrilled to receive a copy of this Autumnal book to read. It was a very welcome change, to welcome in PSL season. A lovely, cosy, feel-good read to curl up with.
I have read and enjoyed Anita Faulkner's previous books and was pleased to see that she had written a new book. This book is funny and romantic with fantastic characters and an idyllic setting. I really enjoyed reading this book.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my arc.

You know, sometimes, you just want to read something that will make you feel good, and this is exactly what Anita Faulkner's books do to me. It's been a while since her last one, so I was thrilled to be able to read it.
Rosie is on her way back home after finding out that AI had taken over her life in far too many ways, from her job, to elements of her relationship. But her car breaks down, and she finds herself at a farm, intending to ask for help. The help manifests differently from what she expected; not a phone call to the local recovery company, but as a job. And not one she is qualified for!
The farm has a ramshackle farmhouse filled with a menagerie of strays, and the owner thinks she is there to work.
Rosie finds herself in a small, gorgeous, cut-off wooden lodge-like house, where all sorts of inspiration begins to hit, and her neighbour happens to be a rather handsome pumpkin farmer. Zain. But he's a bit gruff.
So we have some Grumpy: Sunshine, Enemies to Lovers-like vibes going on.
What ensues is a personal adventure, where we see Rosie grow in confidence, and reach for what she really wants, cold water swimming, sizzling slow burn romance, and lots and lots of pumpkins! And I cannot forget Steve the three-legged cat. Another real character!
I also loved the mention of some of the author's previous book characters in this story as little cameos.
Many thanks to NetGalley and HQ Digital for an ARC.

This was a book that I just didn’t want to put down.

Rosie has recently lost her job and her relationship is over too. Not feeling too good or happy about how things have turned out, her car breaks down and all around her, there’s not a single person in sight.

Then she’s surprised when a face pops up and Agnes assumes she’s been sent by her friend to start working for her. So, Rosie decides to go with it, and in the process learn about living in a place that’s got no contact with the outside world.

Zain, he’s the farmer who loves growing vegetables, especially pumpkins and he is not open to changing his way of doing things.

Agnes needs help to stay where she is, and stop all the beautiful land from being lost to white buildings. Rosie with the help of her new friends plans to try and help her to stay in her home along with her pets.

But, she’s still not being truthful of who she is, and it looks like Zain is hiding something too. Will Rosie be successful in helping Agnes, and what will happen when secrets are revealed?

I loved both characters, Rosie and Zain. The setting was gorgeous with its descriptions of the surroundings. It almost seems real and you want to go and stay there. The food that Zain and Rosie’s friends ate made my mouth water.

A book that makes you fall in love with Autumn even more.

I highly recommend this book.

This was the yummiest book I've read this year absolutely beautiful.

Zain is a grumpy farmer set in his ways and very protective of his crops.
Rosie has lost her job and boyfriend and ends up in the middle of nowhere.
Mistaken for the new employee Agnes was waiting for Rosie goes along with it learning all about the farm life she wants to be hi eat but does she really have to?

Aah I loved this book zain might be my new favorite fictional character and Rosie is so sweet. The descriptions of the farm are amazing it's very vivid and it makes me want to go and stay there with zain and Rosie. I love the ideas of how to. Make. Money so Agnes doesn't have to sell up.

Everything about this book was great and delicious and I devoured it in 2days

Another great read by Anita Faulkner. An easy read ‘cosy up’ seasonal story which kept me turning the pages from start to finish with great characters and many humorous moments.

Obsessed, that's the only way I can describe my relationship with this book.

If you've been keeping an eye on my reading list, you'll notice I've been in a run of autumn themed romances - all pumpkins and cinnamon spice - and honestly, this one has been my favourite.

Everything has gone wrong in Rosie's life - she's lost her job to AI and her boyfriend to, um, AI (read it to find out!). While fleeing, her car breaks down and she stumbles across a farm hoping to call for help, but through a case of mistaken identity, she finds herself with a new job planning pumpkin retreats with on site accommodation in a cabin on the edge of a wild swimming pond; the only other inhabitant of the site is grumpy and mysterious pumpkin farmer Zain, who is strangely protective of his pumpkins.

Rather than small town America, this autumnal romance was set in the countryside of the Cotswolds, which made for a nice change - though I do admit that I'm a little bit in love with those anyway! It definitely gave Laurie Gilmore vibes but in the UK.

The grumpy sunshine romance was done very well, and there was a gorgeous found family element to it too which had a group of female wild swimmers across generations coming together to help save the pumpkin farm. I saw another reviewer compare Rosie to Bridget Jones, and that was exactly what it felt like to me too - it was very lovely and funny too!

The AI elements to the story were very of the times but felt quite well done. I was writing an article about Google's new AI mode while reading the book, and my job is at times immersed in playing with AI and fighting the battle against AI, so it felt very on the nose. I worried it might stray into being a crusade against AI, but fortunately didn't go quite that far.

Overall, it was a brilliant autumnal read, perfect for cosy fall days. I'd definitely recommend it!

Unfortunately this one didn’t really work for me. It started well and the premise was good so I had high hopes, but there were a few plot holes and times where the story just jumped forward and we were told things happened, but never showed them. For me it needed more depth.

Zain- the MMC- seems to do a complete 180 half way through the book and suddenly starts trying to woo Rosie but until that point he’d been avoiding her and we barely saw any build up to their relationship. The spicy parts were very cringey and I didn’t feel any chemistry between them. The book might have been better without this forced relationship, with more focus on Rosie finding herself and working on the pumpkin retreats.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC.

You Had Me At Pumpkin Patch is a light and easy read that suits the cosy season perfectly. With its autumnal setting and feel-good tone, it offers a comforting escape ideal for curling up with on a quiet afternoon.

The characters are generally likeable and there’s a warmth to the story that makes it appealing, particularly for readers who enjoy gentle romance with a touch of whimsy. The seasonal charm is undeniable and there are moments that feel genuinely sweet and heartwarming.

That said, the writing can feel underdeveloped at times. The prose is quite simplistic, which may suit some readers but left me wanting a bit more depth. Certain plot points veer into the overly outlandish, such as the robot cats and the exaggerated drama with ex-boyfriends. These elements risk taking the reader out of the story and may not work for everyone.

Overall, it’s a pleasant enough read with cosy vibes and a likeable cast, though it may be a better fit for readers looking for something very light and not too grounded in reality.

"A Perfect Cosy Season Read"

If you like light and fluffy romance, with not much depth then this is the perfect cosy read for Pumpkin Season.

I have to caveat this review with an acknowledgement that this is not my usual type of read, and perhaps this is why I didn't enjoy it as much as I'd have liked.
I found the world building lacking and for the most part, it felt like the characters were also missing something. At times, I questioned whether the book was written by AI, which is funny, because one of the plot lines was the MC losing her writing job to an AI chat bot. An AI, writing a book about losing a writing job to AI? It would probably sound exactly like this book.
The female AI, sorry, I mean the MC Rosie, often said things I've never heard an actual woman say and this is why I'm suspicious. It gave me many 'icks'. The book almost ALMOST failed the Bechdel Test, which is disappointing in modern fiction, but I guess if you're looking for a fluffy, pumpkin scented, effortless read - then this is your best bet.

I give it a generous 3 stars, because there was a cat who wore denim jackets and he was honestly the star of the entire book.

I found myself laughing out loud a number of times, always a good sign for a romantic comedy. I've been a fan of Anita's for a while now and was so happy to be given the chance to read this latest. Full of those 'moments' that make you want to reach for a warming cup of cocoa!
My thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for the reading copy.

Urgh, I don’t know if it was just me or the mood I was in when reading it, but this book was not for me. I found it to be just a bit cringey. I wasn’t a fan of the style of writing and to be honest I wasn’t a fan of the story either. It all felt a bit juvenile to me.
