"Game Point" was a fairly run of the mill sports romance. Dylan is a tennis professional, who reaches finals frequently, only to completely bottle them. Oliver has enjoyed success right at the top of tennis but is ready to sidestep into something less in the limelight. Their friendship begins as just that, before rapidly plummeting into intense not quite "instalove ". It's all very sweet but just not charming enough to make me want to read it at any pace.

I absolutely inhaled this book and couldn’t put it down. It was the perfect blend between the sports aspects and relationship building, mixed with funny banter and emotional moments.
I’m so glad we got Dylan’s story after meeting her in Clean Point. She’s an amazing character and had such a great arc throughout the book. I especially loved that Game Point focused on the mental aspect of tennis and how she worked together with Oliver to build up her confidence in the finals.
The relationship between Dylan and Oliver was definitely more of a slow-burn, which I loved! They are friends first, with both in a sport that can make people feel a bit lonely on the road, though you can tell that there is always tension simmering between these two before anything happens - it was *chef’s kiss*!
This was also an amazing book 2 for a series of interconnected standalones. It was so great to see Scottie and Dylan’s friendship develop and get the glimpses of characters from Clean Point while also not giving too much away for people who may read the books in a different order.
I would recommend this to everyone who loves a good sports romance with friends-to-lovers, funny banter and well-written characters. I’m already so excited for book 3!

I flew through this book featuring a spiky heroine with a sweetheart hero - my favourite dynamic.
I loved seeing why Dylan, the antagonist in Clean Point, is the way she is. She's a talented tennis player but prone to lashing out after consistently losing every Grand Slam final she's played in. It's a satisfying journey seeing her slowly work on herself and her game with the help of dependable and supportive Oliver. He was such a sweetheart and believed in her and her talent. They had such a brilliant chemistry and all the yearning was so well conveyed. I also loved Scottie also breaking down Dylan's walls to befriend her and create a found family vibe.
I do have some minor quibbles though with regional terminology, especially considering the author correctly references Bunnings(!). Dylan is Australian, so she'd get 'take away' not 'takeout'. She'd get a 'housemate' not a 'roommate' and at the Australian Open, they make an announcement use a PA, not a 'tannoy'. Oliver is British, so I'm surprised he'd call A&E an 'emergency room'.
An engrossing slow-burn sports romance that refreshingly centres female athletes. Highly recommended.
Thanks to Michael Joseph/PRH and NetGalley for the ARC.

Oliver and Dylan you have my heart and made it all smiley and squishy. Dylan is done. she is done with tennis after her latest loss. thats it. nope. unless?...enter Oliver her supporter and friend. he gives another option. another challenge and we all know Dylan wont refuse one of them or him. Oliver says he will coach her so she can go for it one last time. and if she loses she gets to take HIS trophy. weeeeell now. game on and i was in long before this point. i was hooked. i was in. i was iiiiiiin.
the chemistry between these two was gorgeous. the interactions every time had me smiling that big goofy smile only lovely love does. the friendship but also love. the banter wit and connection. the love. the love! you could see these two went deep. you could see these two were meant for each other be it friends but oh please something more.
Dylan was brilliant. i love her sass but also her vulnerability. and Oliver was fab with capital F.
this was a beautiful read and i enjoyed every second of it. i love a book like this where i care enough to feel anxious that they will be ok in the end but also its makes me feel wonderful and better just be reading it.

I really enjoyed this book! It was such a great sports themed romance and I really enjoyed seeing the comeback of our MC and the chemistry she developed with Oliver. It shows it’s never to late if you have the right person supporting you
