I really enjoyed this story, full of snow, wonderful memories set in the beautiful Highlands of Scotland. Bella is an interior designer and been assigned a job to decorate a hotel, but when the owners son is put in charge, she’s not impressed. At least she has lovely Harris her boyfriend to rely on. A lovely Christmassy read, this is part of a series, but was easy to get into and followed along easily. A 4.5 star read. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.

This is the latest installment in the Scottish Highlands series. It works well as a standalone, but I would advise reading the previous books to get an understanding of the characters, relationships and locations.

This time, the story revisits Bella and Harris, who we see get together in an earlier book. They have moved to Skye with Harris' Mum and Bella's gran, and are settled with their lives. The book follows Bella taking on a large hotel renovation and dealing a difficult client, whilst organising the life she lives with Harris.

Lisa Hobman is a must read author for me, so I was keen to read this one. However, I didn't feel like it fit as well into the series as the other books - whether this was because the main location was different I am not sure, but the story didn't feel as strong to me. I loved Bella and Harris' first book, so had high hopes for this one, that were not quite met. I really enjoyed seeing favourite characters again however - Isla is a hoot!

Easy to read, I love Lisa Hobman's style, but this one was not one of my favourites unfortunately.

Snowy Surprises in the Highlands by Lisa Hobman is a delightful and heartwarming story full of charm, romance, and unexpected twists. Bella’s journey balancing love, work, and family made for an engaging and enjoyable read. I truly enjoyed this book and rated it five stars.

I can't, unfortunately, conect with the book. Whether it is because I'm not yet on the Holy Chirstmast-ish mood or just because it doesn't feel rigjt for me at the moment. The books isn't badly writen nor bad paced, and what little I've read, I have enjoyed, but i don't want to drag myself through it and give a bad review due to burn out. So, I've decided to DNF and just say that, from what I know of the book, and what I've read, it is not bad by any means, it's just not my moment to read it.

A wonderful Christmas romance by Lisa Hobman giving off Hallmark Christmas movie vibes. Readers will fall in love with her relatable characters and be drawn in by their real to life experiences. Hobman shows that love isn't always easy, but it is definitely worth it. Friends of Debbie Macomber and Jenny Hale will live this clean, cozy Christmas romance.

This is book five in this series and can be read as a stand alone.
This is Bella and Harris’ story. It was a quick and easy story to read. There’s a few side stories that add some conflict. It also has some sweet romance all leading up to Christmas. If you’re looking for a light breezy story, grab this one

Bella Douglas is loving life. She lives on the beautiful Isle of Skye with her partner Harris, an Inspector with the Scottish police force, her family and friends are not too far away and her work is going well.
When she is given a contract to project manage the restoration and re-design of a former hotel, Bella is excited to get started. Then she meets the new owner’s son who will be running the hotel when it’s finished. Carlton Somers is an ex-model who is used to women falling at his feet.
But Bella is happy with Harris and has no intention of falling for a conceited, misogynistic big head like Carlton.
Over at Pabay View Residential Home Bella’s beloved Granny Isla is causing mischief. What starts out as a harmless outing ends up causing alarm for Bella and her family.
If she wants to keep her happy life on track Bella will need to juggle work, family and friends. With Harris at her side she can do anything, but even the strongest of relationships can crack under pressure.
This is full of love, family and friendship. It’s the kind of book that will put a smile on your face. You can read as a standalone, there are lots of reminders of back stories so you won’t be confused.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood books for the chance to read this book . It’s the 5th in the series of the highland books and this one is set in the winter . It follows a couple from engagement to wedding and in the middle of it you get some new characters addded.
A good easy read .

A lovely, heartwarming story set against the beautiful backdrop of the Highlands. The setting felt magical and really added to the festive atmosphere. I enjoyed the characters and the sweet romance, which made it a perfect cozy winter read.

I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 only because a couple of parts felt a little predictable, but overall it was an enjoyable and charming book that left me smiling.

THE PERFECT CHRISTMAS BOOK DOESN’T EXIST. Well, that was true until I read this book. Book 5 of the Scottish highlands series and it’s the best one yet. Bella and Carlton are meant to be and yes, Harris is nice but he’s just not Carlton. Granny Isla is so cute - I want her in my family! What a book!

What an absolutely delightful addition to this series that is set in the Highlands with the focus this time round being on Bella and Harris. Bella undertakes the work of redesigning the interior of a hotel that is very much stuck in the 1970s. What she hadn’t counted on was her American clients sending their ex model son Carlton to oversee the renovation on their behalf. Although very good looking Carlton is arrogant, very sure of himself and doesn’t seem to understand the word no. Whilst all this is going on Bella starts to question how strong her relationship with Harris is when he starts to become very secretive plus Granny Isla causes plenty of drama and sends everyone into a tailspin. Beautiful settings, an engaging storyline that flows well and fabulous characters I thoroughly enjoyed this. I really like how the different parts of the story entwined with each other and how the characters interactions are written. Thanks to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the ARC

When I saw that 'Snowy Surprises in the Highlands' reprised the characters of Bella and Harris I was concerned about the outcome of their relationship. As it turns out I had cause for concern. The resolution in Lisa Hobman's wonderful world of Highland books was a delightful ride. This story was full of challenges, twists and joys that was entirely satisfying to me in the end. I only hope there are many more in this franchise and I highly recommend them all.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

A brilliant series which I am really enjoying, it could be read as a standalone but you are missing out if you do.
Bella, Harris and granny Isla are now living on Skye, but it also includes a major part of the story being set at the castle with Olivia and Brodie . Granny Island is up to her usual tricks, loved what she got up too and her malapropisms !
This book covered the run up to Islas wedding, including a nasty episode with Islas work and many twists and turns.
A packed book which I would highly recommend

This series just holds a special place in my heart. I like the setting and the cast of characters a lot. Scotland is such a great backdrop for this plot and I like how all the characters care for each other and are kind to each other.
Bella is a lovely main character and I liked her already in the first book she starred as the main character. She is kind and caring and loves Harris with her whole heart. She is also a strong character and deals with whatever life throws at her. Harris is a lovely male main character. I like how he is there for Bella when she needs it but trust her to stand her ground as well. He loves her and wants her to have the best wedding possible. Carlton is not a nice person most of the time. So much so, Carlton does not treat Bella with respect. He is her client for her interior design business and doesn’t behave like a client. He is the reason for me recommending to read the content warnings of this book.
In addition, this time round I found the plot slightly jumping a bit, as the book covers a whole year on under 300 pages. That is the reason for my rating to come in at a great 4.5 stars, otherwise this would have been a full 5 star read again! If you love lighthearted fiction/romance you should read this series. I love them as palate cleansers between more heavy books. Hopefully there will be a book 6!

A new Lisa Hobman book, and it's a Christmas one - that is automatically a winner for me.

Yes it is part of the Highlands series, and so I think you'd probably get more out of it if you read it in order, but it's equally as enjoyable as a standalone.

I love the sense of family and love and friendship and community and togetherness that is visible on every page.

I loved the characters - even the "baddies". They were so well written, so layered, and just leapt off the page. They felt recognisable and so real, like you could know them in real life.

It is a sweet book, sometimes quite sickly sweet, but for a rom-com book that is very heavily geared towards the love, there wasn't much romance. It seemed just a bit surface-level.

It wasn't my favourite of her books, which surprised me, because I love Christmas and I love love but it was just missing something. Don't get me wrong, I still really enjoyed it and I loved what was there, but it kept feeling like something was missing. Even though it does touch on some difficult topics, they were only really touched on, and never had much depth. Even the Christmas elements, there's a bit at the start and a bit at the end, but for a book that highlights it being a Christmas book, I wanted her to make more of that.

There's a few twists and turns, but not too many as it's not a thriller, but overall it's a pleasant, cosy, warming way to spend a few hours, but it didn't hit the heights of her previous ones.

This book circles back to prominent secondary characters from an earlier book in Hobman's The Scottish Highland series, taking them through a series of ups and downs from committed couple to marriage. In addition to Bella and Harris, we also see a lot of Bella's Granny Isla and Harris's mother, two senior citizens who are still living life to the fullest and getting into mischief at every opportunity. The book also spotlights several characters from Hobman's earlier books, including both her Scottish Highland and her The Skye Collection series.

I enjoy Hobman's writing and I enjoy her characters (it was fun to catch up with everyone) but I had trouble staying engaged with the main couple in this book. It was much too easy to set the book aside. I think I would have been more invested had this been a shorter story - a novella, perhaps - with fewer (or at least more condensed) side journeys (such as the hotel renovation and the accompanying issues) along the way.

i cannot tell you how happy it made me to see Lisa's name cross my scanning of new books. i was too happy. her books and this series has given me a too emotional joy to be frank. im far too in love with this world she has created and im not happy at all about it. i mean i am, but im not because it means i have to read an then they will one day finish!yes, yes i know books mean far too much to me, deal with it. and deal yourself some Lisa writing. because once again she brings a new part to the series and one that you fall in love with just as much as the others.
Lisa has a way of writing that draws you into the story just as much as you come to be drawn into the people you meet in them.
we are back to the series with Bella. she and her boyfriend are now sharing their lives and planning their future. shes an interior designer and living her dream. and of course we have Granny Isla back to make us laugh and giggle. so its all good...she keeps telling herself this anyway.
then she gets given the dream client, an American who seems to be a bit cheeky towards Bella and it surprises her somewhat. then the cheekiness turns into something that Bella's just wants to stop. like now mate.
can Bella get her dream wedding, can she even get her man at this point? and is it all what she actually wants because is it just her who thinks there is something off between her and her fiance?cold feet? or running feet?
there is a lot to deal with for Bella and lots of questions and all sorts more spiralling in her mind.
another brilliant addition to the series and works just as well together with the others or on its own. but please if you haven't already then go and read the others. your life with these books are always brighter.
i feel so lucky to get to read these authors and the books they bring to us.

Even though I hadn't read any of the other books in the series I soon understood what was going on and I enjoyed the story. It's the perfect book to curl up with over the festive season. I loved the characters and the place settings in the book and I found the pacing just right. I highly recommend it and I look forward to reading more by the author.

This is a cute and easy-to-read romance set on the Isle of Skye. It is the 5th book in the Scottish Highlands series. I have read a few of the books, although not in order. While they are part of a series, they can be read as standalone novels.

Bella and her boyfriend, Harris, have moved to Skye. She is an interior designer who works with her Granny Isla; she is living her dream. When they get a job to renovate a Victoria hotel for an American client. The said client takes a shine to Bella and won't seem to take no as an answer.

I like the way Lisa Hoban writes; her characters are always likeable and have some great banter. I enjoyed this book, and it was nice to catch up with the characters.

A cute romance read that does exactly what you would expect it to do. I really enjoyed the relationship between Bella and Harris but found the grandmother, Isla, just a tad irritating with all of her mispronunciations; I know it was meant to be endearing, but there were too many. I did enjoy this book but not as much as the previous book in the series. If you like gentle romance stories, then this is the book for you.
