This is another excellent classroom resource from Comprehension Ninja. Well pitched texts for upper KS2 and an excellent range of questions to explore as a class or in intervention groups. This will be a welcome addition to a teacher’s toolkit.

As a Year 6 teacher, I'm always looking for new ideas for teaching the all important skill of inference. This book is perfect and I can easily see how I am going to use this both with whole class teaching and more intensive intervention work. I really like how the book is organised with different types of questions for each text and also that the texts included cover fiction, non-fiction and poetry.
I've already pre-ordered my copy and will be recommending my Year 3 colleagues look at the lower KS2 version.

This book is packed with a wide range of literature designed to help children develop and refine their inference skills. The comprehension questions not only target different aspects of inference, but also encourage pupils to find evidence to support their answers – a skill that is often lacking. The carefully structured progression ensures that children are exposed to a variety of genres, enabling them to strengthen their skills in a rich and engaging way.
It is highly versatile, making it suitable for whole-class teaching as well as targeted interventions – and it will be something I will be considering investing in for the next academic year to support my intervention groups.
The book is user-friendly and easily adaptable, allowing for extension activities when needed. I was also fortunate enough to receive an ARC of the Lower KS2 version, and it was inspiring to see the progression of inference skills laid out so clearly, in ways I hadn’t previously considered when teaching. It has given me valuable ideas for scaffolding comprehension and developing specific inference skills in my classroom practice.

An excellent addition to all class resources for new and experienced teachers alike. Easy to weave into weekly teaching and engaging to maintain interest. Another high-quality resource from Comprehension Ninja.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read an early copy in exchange for an honest review.

Came to this book from the book for lower K2, and the difference in the levels is evident.
This book contains various types of texts on different topics and in different forms such as short fiction and newspaper items and there are corresponding questions to answer about for examples sequencing, inference, and evidencing.
The layout and the images make for an easier read, and help with learning by creating a break between the testing/learning moments.
