Another stunning edition of The Weather Almanac full of so much detail and interesting facts as well as diagrams and charts. A great resource to dip in and out of, and a great Christmas present!

This was such a fun and surprisingly useful read. I’ve always loved flipping through almanacs, and this one has that perfect mix of practical info and random weather facts you didn’t know you wanted to know. It covers seasonal forecasts, past weather events, fun trivia, and even a bit of climate science - all in short, easy-to-read sections.
I’m definitely picking up a physical copy when it’s out. It’s the kind of book I’d keep on the coffee table or by the kitchen window to check in with throughout the year. Great for anyone who loves the weather, gardening, or just learning something new each day.

Following the weather over the course of the year. The guide to using the book at the beginning is very useful. Full of facts and information, perfect for those who have an interest in this field

Packed with handy and specialised info about the weather events, this is a useful almanac.
You can track the moon phases, weather patterns and different meteorological events in the UK.
It was particularly insightful to learn about the extremes and know what to expect.

It’s hard to accurately rate this book, as an almanac is obviously designed to be dipped into and read every month over a period of an entire year. I read this all in one go over a couple of days which is not the optimal or intended reading experience!
There’s a lot of interesting info and facts here. I very much enjoyed the historical events section at the end of each month. I also enjoyed the ‘weather word’ sections and will be adding ‘thunderplump’ (‘A sudden torrential downpour that soaks you to the skin in seconds,
accompanied by thunder and lightning’) to my vocabulary! Learning in more detail about how daylight savings time was introduced was also super interesting.
I did find it a bit dense for me personally and felt the layout could have been more engaging. It probably felt more dense as I was reading it all in one go rather than looking at the almanac every month as most readers would.
Thank you very much to Collins Reference and NetGalley for the ARC!
