This was the first book I’ve read by the author. A short and fun graphic novel. If you enjoy reading then this one is for you!
This is an ARC review. I appreciate receiving this copy from NetGalley and the publisher in return for an honest review.

Set in 1930s, this is a pulp comic book with wonderful art and interesting characters.
Kraken/Dale is the protagonist, who was lost for many years.
When he returns, he makes sure that monsters, Nazis, monsters and other monsters receive their punishment.
He gets a little help from others.
To be perfectly honest, considering how I rate my reads overall and with titles I have 5-stared, this is more of a 4-star read for me, however, it is very high quality, and made me wonder more about Kraken's world - I had been hearing about it, but now have reason to visit it. Hence, because of its promise, and to be fair on its most suitable target reader, I am rating it 5 stars.
Besides the 4ish stars for the plot, the art, characterisation, worldbuilding, themes and mood were great anyways.

Kraken is a fun and interesting comic that has the feel of an old pulp fiction with a touch of eldritch horror. I loved the artwork and colouring and how it worked with the storyline itself. I'll certainly be looking for more stories in this line in the future.
