Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Jumper by Debbie Johnson has been on my kindle for far too long. When I saw it had been made into a Christmas Hallmark movie I bumped it up my tbr list.

Maggie is cycling back with the precious first edition book for her daughters Christmas when CRASH!! Next minute she is home with a ruined book and an unexpected invalid house guest. This is not how she expected Christmas to go.

As unrealistic premises go this one is out there as would you really invite a stranger into your home at Christmas to take care of them especially when they caused the accident in the first place?! However if you suspend belief then this is a nice read. Maggie and Marco were both loveable characters and I liked reading about them. It was a nice change as well as rather than will they won't they it was a simple when. I enjoyed seeing the pair develop mutual feelings for each other over the festive period. For such a Christmassy title I did expect more Christmas in the story but it was more focused on the lovestruck pair rather than the time of year it was. I didn't get the Christmas feels with this book but I was completely wrapped up in the festive romance. I will definitely look out for the film when it comes to the UK.

Never Kiss A Man in a Christmas Jumper is a festive read from a few years ago. It’s written by Debbie Johnson, the author of the Comfort Food Cafe series. I loved her characters and writing style so with this one already on my kindle I thought I’d finally give it a go!

The story is all about main character and single mum Maggie. Events lead Maggie to have a house guest on the lead up to Christmas. A handsome American Italian male house guest at that. After an accident Marco is under Maggie’s care.

Maggie is a hard working single mum to 18 year old Ellen. She’s down to earth, provides everything her daughter could want and runs her own wedding dress alteration business where she takes unique care of each of her brides. The way she’s written makes her feel down to earth and just like she could be a great friend. I love this about Debbie’s other characters.

This is a quick read which you’ll enjoy within a couple of hours. If you enjoy Christmassy reads, antics from your hero and a bit of steaminess thrown in you’ll enjoy this. If you’re looking for a new series check out the Comfort Food Cafe series!
