how much joy did i get from the fact there was more Steel girls. there are some series you just fall for and what more and more of forever. Michelle has given us just that for me in this series. we know these girl now. we know there dynamics, seen their highs and lows, and now want to know more.
these girls during the war kept things going. quite literally sometimes. they even kept some of the lads overseas going with what they made and kept fires burning for. they also had to suddenly step up where they werent allowed to before. they were suddenly "needed" to do the work. and they did, they just did it, whilst also doing all the things they did before and kept those communities together.
these books show all of that and more.
Hattie is going through it within this book and we see what some woman must have faced everyday when there loved ones were posted abroad. she has her little clan round her that are there to help.
Diane too has things or people that might make life tricky.
poor Josie is grappling such sadness and loss but determined if she can to keep going for her family still here.
Daisy has had such a view on what this war has done and taken from her and so many. this time there might be hope in the hand of some love? but can she, will she accept or believe in it.
more time with these girls is all you need in your day to make you feel better. it was so good to be back.

It was lovely to be back with the Steel Girls. What a time Diane and Hattie are having at the hands of Vinny, who can help them? Josie is still trying to get her life back on track after the family loss, the kindness of Ivy and her fellow workmates helps the family. Frank is great at keeping the younger girls Annie & Polly busy assisting in the garden. Daisy receives friendship from an unexpected source, will she be willing to accept?

I really enjoyed this instalment of the Steel Girls, my favourite character was Ivy who was so kind. Least favourite was Vinny even although he had issues. The question is, what to do now?

How happy was I to see there was another book in this series?! Not ashamed to admit I did a little whoop at the thought of catching up with these characters again.

The famous Steelworks in Sheffield during the war is well known but the women behind the war is something I always enjoy reading about. They worked, they kept their families together, started new relationships and kept their communities together.

This book had such a lovely feel of camaraderie and I root for these girls so hard - especially no more than Hattie. Her husband has been posted away, her home life is in turmoil with a drunk father and she’s expecting a baby. But with the help of her friends and her mum, she can overcome everything thrown her way.

Honestly, picking this book up was my favourite part of my day! Every morning, with a cup of coffee and a few chapters = bliss.

Such a joy to read another book about these hard-working brave women . They were so strong for their families during these difficult times. It's so hard to imagine what they went through but, they came through it cheerfully and determined to carry on. More please. My thanks to netgalley and the publisher's for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
