The forever bear is an enchantingly illustrated children’s picture book with a nostalgic plot about the importance of finding your forever bear. This book had the perfect illustrations that captured the nostalgia of childhood joy of finding your forever bear. This book is cosy and warm and everything nice.

Thank you to Bloomsbury Publishing Plc (UK & ANZ) | Bloomsbury Children's Books, the author and NetGalley for a DRC in return for an honest review
A delightful children's book written by Lu Fraser, about a little boy called Harry, who is looking for a very special kind of bear. With detailed colourful illustrations by Pippa Curnick, this is a book for little ones to treasure. This story will be nostalgic for those of you with childhood teddy bears who still hold a special place your heart. Would make a lovely present.

A beautifully illustrated rhyming book about a boy who enters The Forever Bear shop to find a bear perfect for his birthday. The owner of the shop comes to his rescue but only after listening to the boy, can he help him!
Not only are the pictures beautiful and bring the story to life, but there are lots of great opportunities to learn new vocabulary as well as stimulate great conversations.
This is definitely a book I will be buying for our school library and I can see it being used as a focus book in class to discuss emotions as well as writing for a purpose by asking children to describe their 'Forever Bear'!
Thank you, @Netgallery and Bloomsbury Publishing PLC, for this advanced copy of this magical adventure!

In summary, it's fine. A story of a child going to a bear shop to find their special bear. Bright artwork to fit the story, rhyming lines throughout. We have the child going to store, the owner showing all different kinds of bears, and the child then being asked and saying what he wants the bear to be for him. A simple bear, bear for life.
It's good, not groundbreaking but well written, drawn, and I'm sure children will enjoy.

Okay tell me why this made almost-34-year-old me fully cry????
This book is WONDERFUL. So wonderful that I literally finished my review copy and immediately pre- ordered a physical copy to gift to my niblings.
My family is a family of soft toy and teddy bear lovers. Our soft toy friends have their own personalities, their own backstories, and they’re basically extended members of the family. It was so lovely to read a book that celebrated the special relationship between a cuddly toy and their human friend!!
The book ending by showing how Harry and his bear were truly there for each other for life was so emotional for me and made me think of my special cuddly toys who have been there for me through everything!

Thank you so much to Bloomsbury Children’s Books and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
Harry wants a specific bear, so goes to the bear shop hoping to find the perfect bear. There are so many options and the shop keeper doesn’t know quite which one to give him. But he shares so many wonderful bear options to him.
What an absolutely adorable story, first off I loved the rhyming of the story, it was stunning. Secondly the story itself was incredibly precious and heartwarming. I loved that the setting was at a bear store, all these loved before bears and bears with no home lived until a forever home was found, honestly it was so adorable.
I thought it was so sweet seeing all the major varieties that were available to Harry, but that he had a specific one in mind, one that was dear to the shop keepers heart too. It was honestly so precious, you just can’t not love this story.
The illustrations were gorgeous and I loved looking at the shelves seeing so many different types of bears all around, so very creative. I liked the aspect of sustainability too, showing that a secondhand bear can be just as important and loved as a new bear.
An honestly perfect and stunning read, young children will absolutely love this book, it’s beautifully created and wonderful to look at. It shows just how important a Baer can be to a person.

Okay so yes, this is a book aimed at children, from birth to about 5. And I, at 32, am a wee bit outside that age range, but I just so wanted to read this. Just from the cover and premise it sounded like such a beautiful bedtime story that I might have read once upon a time, and sometimes you want the comfort that comes from a book like that. Sometimes you just need a book about a teddy bear to get you through the day.
And it rhymes! Which I didn't realise was something I really wanted, but it really adds to the magical feel of the story.
I loved it. I know I'm too old for it, but I don't care. It's quick and so can be read at bedtime to let the child get off to a nice cosy sleep. I might be looking too deep into it, but children really love their toys far more than adults might believe, and this story puts that love front and centre.
It is just 32 pages but it sure packs a punch in those 32 pages. It's warming and comforting and nostalgic and just lovely. I don't have children this young in my family anymore, but how I wish I could buy this for them.

I really enjoyed the book and I thought the illustrations were fab. I would definitely think about buying it for my son who loves bears., except....
The only reason I have not given 5 stars is because of the font / layout and contrast. The very first paragraph is hard to read and I have good sight. My daughter (who is losing her sight) would love to read this to her brother, but the font and contrast would be too difficult for her. Books need to be designed with all children in mind. There are other places where the contrast is not good enough. Please look at how Barrington Stoke do this, I am sure it is possible to do it within this book.

Thank you Netgalley and Bloomsbury Publising for the ARC copy. I absolutely adored this book, it's the sweetest of stories and I think it will become one of my nieces and nephews favourites. I will be buying a few copies for them for christmas this year.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you NetGalley and Bloomsbury Publishing Plc for the chance to read this wonderful book.
Myself and my 2 year old son read this book together. Such a lovely story of a boy on the hunt for a bear, with such a beautiful ending.
A really heartwarming story which I know me and my son will continue to share for years to come.

Would be great to revisit this book at Christmas times and during colder winter months.
It is a children's book which has multitudes of beauty packed in its naturally small scope.
In this atmospheric tale, a young child gets a chance to tell us what he looks for in a teddy bear by which we go on a journey with him and the ideal bear, and learn about his dreams, wishes, and what he values most.
A non-didactic, not-on-the-nose book about what matters more.
And even from the surface level reading, it is still a lovely story, and the toy shop looks magical.
Loved the teddy maker/shop owner too.
