Overall, I really liked this book.
Part one was absolutely infuriating with all the gaslighting and I was rage reading the entire time. I think there was a lot of repetition in Daniel saying “you just need to try harder”. I loved when I got to read from a different perspective other than Claudia’s.
Part two was great! Renee/Riley was a great character and at about 80% I was so into it I couldn’t put it down. The ending I think was phenomenal, the way everything tied together and how we really got to know each character a bit deeper and learn Daniel’s true intentions. Very happy with this read, thank you so much NetGalley, Bookouture, and Cathryn Grant.

This is the first book I read by this author and I'll definitely be reading more of her books. This book kept me intrigued from the first page. So much suspense. Definitely a must read

Daniel and Claudia are engaged after a six month romance. Claudia heads to the huge estate belonging to Daniel's mother, in order to get to know his family better and plan the wedding. But his family start acting strangely. Why does Daniel act so different around them? And who is buried in the back garden?
Sometimes I just want to reach into a book and give a character a hard shake. And that was the case here. Claudia is faced with red flags the second she meets Daniel's mother, she notices how awful she is when they're alone together, but how lovely she is when Daniel is there. My arse would have turned straight back round and left the way I came in. It was so frustrating watching each family member gaslight and manipulate Claudia, to the point she felt like she was going insane. This whole family was just one big neon red flag. There are two parts to this book. The first follows Claudia as she slowly loses her mind. I can't say too much about the second part without giving spoilers, but lets just say, I was equally as frustrated with Riley as I was with Claudia.
The writing was great, the story was great. However, the ending was a bit of a let down. It was a little confusing. I'm hoping there will be some kind of sequel to explain the ending further.

If you think your mother-in-law is bad, just wait until you meet the one in this book… 😳
I love a thriller that completely flips the script at the end, and Welcome to the Family does exactly that. It’s a fast-paced, gripping psychological thriller that keeps you hooked from the start , but it’s the final chapters that really pull you in. The suspense builds beautifully, turning into a real nail-biter of a page-turner toward the end.
If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers that make you think you know how it ends , only to completely blindside you ?this book needs to be on your TBR right now.

Listened to this on audiobooks and loved it! I’m going to uncover the secrets this perfect family home holds. And they’re going to regret ever welcoming me to the family.
Delicious!

This book had me hooked! I could not put it down. I didn't want part 1 to finish. The transition to part 2 was a bit abrupt to me, and the ending confusing/unexpected but I enjoyed the story nonetheless. I loved the fast paced storytelling, and loved to hate the family. The gaslighting was insane and I wanted to scream at all of them. I can usually guess the ending to thrillers but all the twists in this book got me and that was a great change!

What starts as a warm embrace into a wealthy family soon spirals into a web of manipulation, secrets, and shocking twists. The author delivers a razor-sharp psychological thriller that will leave you breathless until the final reveal.

I enjoyed this book so much and trying to understand what was going on / the background behind all of the different characters! I especially loved when we got to part two and another character that you didn't expect really played a key part. Despite this I felt massively let down by the last few pages! Such a shame as I feel that this book had some real potential but unfortunately the ending for me just felt really rushed.

I was really excited for this book, but it was kind of a miss. The characters are all absolutely insufferable and the beginning storyline lasted way too long. I wanted to DNF, but decided to give it a fair chance. It felt long yet very rushed, I can't stand when the plot twist and ending takes place over the last 30 pages in a 300 page novel.
Thank you to Netgalley, Cathryn Grant, and Bookouture for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest feedback.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an early copy of Welcome to the Family. Gorgeous cover!!!! This book was a crazy, gaslighting, sick read. I Loved it. Part Two starts off with a BANG!!! When I read books like this, I wonder how the authors think of these plots. All I’m going to say is, CRAZY!!!! You will NOT be able to put it down. I honestly don’t know who was the sickest character. Thank you again.

Thank you NetGalley! I believe this was a first for me by this author but it definitely won’t be the last. I was drawn in from the beginning. This book was extremely twisty and made me shocked several times. I was unable to stop until I finished

I got this book as an ARC from netgally and what attracted me towards it was the cover. It's very intriguing and mysterious. Just by a cursory glance I could tell that this was a book that I can get along with.
The story starts really normal like a girl visiting her fiancé's family, to spend some time, get to know them etc, etc. Her fiancé's family is a really tight knit group of people, but this family gave me the heebie jeebies.
But the minute she steps into the house, it's just a haunted manor sort of vibes. Like every time she takes a turn, she unfolds something drastic almost murderous. The family , the house didn't have good vibes. In my mind when the FMC enters the mansion, it's bright and sunny and then it slowly progresses into a dark thunderous cloud storm. The psychological game play here is so authentic. The main character questioned her sanity a few times and I questioned her's 😂
I kept screaming at her in my head: " Run away from them. You are going to die! Run gir!!l Run!!"
The book is divided into two parts. Sort of Act -1 /2.
All of this happens in the first part. It lays the foundation of the story. The first part made me question the family's sanity for sure. They were outrageously disturbing.
The real story unfolds in part two. It has its own disturbing details. Part two really made me wonder WTF I was reading. The truth that was revealed at the end, did blow my mind. Like the whole family was creepy but I didn't anticipate the amount of creepiness it had.
This is a good psychological thriller. Maybe not made for one sitting read but it's definitely worth the time.

I was given a free copy of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I have read many books published by this publisher and I believe this is the best one yet. You’ll be unable to put the book down while also screaming at the characters! I can’t wait to see what else is published from this author.

This was a great fast read. It was suspenseful and I really enjoyed the diabolical mother. It was definitely an interesting story line but I was a little underwhelmed with the ending. With the build up of the book throughout I would have expected a jaw dropping ending but I didn’t get that. However, it was a very good psychological thriller and recommend it.

A page turner domestic psych thriller, with twist after twist and some intense moments! mainly told from one POV but the occasional alternative POVs were perfectly placed to keep you thinking and in suspense. I was skeptical of everyone and felt mixed emotions throughout. Sometimes the mc was saying/doing things that would obviously cause drama which infuriated me due to knowing they were supposedly hiding their intentions.
Thank you to NetGalley & Bookouture for the ARC.

First, thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC!
I could be wrong of course, but I think this is actually the first book by Cathryn Grant I have been reading. The cover did catch my interest first, and then also the blurb did sound pretty promising.
So, what can I say now - this was surely a pretty insane ride! She surely knew what she got herself into when agreeing to meet Daniel's family for the first time after it was clear the two of them would get married. She also knew that Daniel and his brother Elliott have brought other girlfriends to family dinner before. And she knew none of them ever came back. And now she wants to reveal what is actually going on in this house...
I surely have not been able to see where the story did go, it really blew me off my chair, and I had to keep reading until the last page was turned! And it makes me think I should be thankful about the few family members I have left myself. At least they are not toxic and insane and our family dinners are not developing an uneasy atmosphere usually...

Talk about a toxic family! Camille is engaged to Daniel but his family, well that might just be a problem. HIs mother is. a controlling and oppressive person and all sorts of weird things have happened to outsiders. But Camille has something up her sleeve the others don'.t. No spoilers from me. This goes a bit over the top but the short chapters will keep you reading even as you might be rolling your eyes. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. Would make a good airplane read.

This book was insane in the best way!! I did NOT see part 2 coming! The way the people in this book just absolutely gaslights the FMC makes you want to SCREAM, it felt like you were personally being gaslit. This is a book well done, absolutely phenomenal!!

Blurb;
They invited me in. They shouldn’t have…
I knew the moment I met Daniel that I would marry him. As I meet his family for the first time, I say a silent prayer. It’s important that I make a good impression… and that they don’t discover why I’m really there.
Over a lavish family dinner, I take in their tight-lipped smiles. His mother watches my every move, his brother flirts dangerously with me and his sister maintains her thunderous expression as she carefully avoids any questions about the family. I can tell they’re all hiding something from me. And little do they know, I already know what it is.
You see, I’m not the only girl Daniel and his brother Elliott have brought back to meet their mother. Those other girls all disappeared. But I intend to make it out alive.
I’m going to uncover the secrets this perfect family home holds. And they’re going to regret ever welcoming me to the family.
My Review;
Overall I really enjoyed reading this book, - it drew me in from the very beginning, & had me on the edge of my seat throughout; not knowing which direction it was going to go in! - I also really liked how exactly half way through, the main character changed over, & as to 'why', & then the twists at the end I did not see coming!
Based on a rating on 1-10, where 10 is the highest, I would give this book a rating of 7.
Deffo a book worth reading, & I would deffo recommend.

Wow! So many twist and turns, just when I thought I had it figured out ,it proved me wrong. So much gaslighting and manipulation I couldn’t keep up sometimes, which I loved. From the beginning I was hooked read it in one day ! Highly recommend !
