While this book follows along the journey of Tobias and Jemima there are quite a few other POV's. While I normally like multiple POV's I often questioned whos POV I was currently reading. For example, at the begining of a chapter you will not know whos POV you are currently reading and have to figure it out the more you read.
This book was a fun read for a YA. However, first it being a YA I found the writing to be a bit more advanced and descriptive.
I loved the two main characters relationship and found that they were easily relatable. The only problem I had with the characters is the monk who uses they/them gender pronouns. Im normally all for inclusion, I just wish the monk would have been introduced as such instead of bring comfuded for the first portion of the book was referring to the monk as they/them.
The used of footnotes was a unique idea and was fun, however one's I finally got to the footnotes at the end of the chapter I found myself forgetting what exactly it was referring to. With a paperback I think you could easily looked back however on the kindle it was not so easy
