i often thought how it would look if me and my siblings told the events of our lives in the same way. infact i know and we have talked often over the years of just that. and sometimes we have been shocked. sometimes completely baffled and sometimes frustrated when one cant even remember the VERY important event, ha!
so to see this book where we get just that and done by a brilliant writer is something really beautiful. and that kicks off right from the start with that cover. we are then give the stories of two brothers whos differing personalities give them a view on things that definitely dont run parallel or the same as one another. we are given world events as well as those in the family. they talk back and forth and you can see it, you can feel this brotherly way, this sibling way of how the conversations and back and forth goes, often only with family.
as a reader you are captivated by both sides, by what they saw, even sometimes by what to believe. its push and pull for both the brother and reader and it was such a wonderful experience to feel part of. its a book unlike one ive read before and im so glad i got to read it.
i was so impressed with this book and loved every part of it. the plot was seamless, smart and so tight that it didn't falter in the telling and helping you get right there into it.
