The banter and humour in this book was *chefs kiss!
A meet cute then meet again a year later .... Yes please! I loved the character and relationship development and the story was well written. I enjoyed the bit of drama at the hand of the MMC's ex but mostly the romance between the swoony rock star and his PR gal.
This is the second ARC I've had the privilege of reading for Camilla Isley and I really hope I get future opportunities.

This was a very sweet second chance romance which shows that love can prevail. We watch our main characters relationship sizzle from the beginning and then come to a stunning conclusion but not without some meddling individuals. I loved this book and the author has a soothing writing style which means that you can consume this with no difficulty and this is something that I like with a romance.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!! I’ve read a few of this authors books and I’ve loved them. This was no exception. It was different with a rockstar and with a non celebrity love interest. It was everything I could have wanted in a book. The banter was top tier and enjoyed the sass of Josie. I loved how Dorian and Josie bonded so quickly and didn’t forget each other even when they had to go the their real lives after they met the first day. Great book and I can’t wait for more to come out.

I received a free review copy of this book from Boldwood Books and NetGalley. All opinions are completely my own.

You Rock My World was a quick read that felt very readable, but I didn't love it quite as much as I hoped I would. Sometimes it just felt like something was missing... maybe some depth to the characters beyond the romance? Sometimes I was a bit frustrated with the characters' actions, especially with crossing lines on this forbidden romance despite agreeing to hold back. That said, it created a lot of tension, and I liked the chemistry between Josie and Dorian. I especially enjoyed the high energy of the rock performance scenes!

One Liner: Depends on your expectations

When Josie gets trapped overnight in an elevator with Rian Phoenix, a popular rockstar, their connection is immediate. However, they weren’t meant to be, so she walks away.
A year later, Josie is reassigned as Rian’s PR manager. Neither of them has forgotten each other, but it is important to keep things professional. Can they find their HEA somehow?
The story comes in Josie and Rian’s first-person POVs.

My Thoughts:
I’m not really into rockstar romances, though I read a couple. Since I enjoy this author’s works and some GR friends enjoyed the book, I grabbed a copy for myself. It sure had some emotional scenes, even if I did expect a bit more.
Firstly, the start is good. We get the MCs’ first meeting (elevator scene) in alternate chapters in Dorian’s POV. I hoped these would be at least two or three more, given the kind of connection they were waxing lyrical about. So, it was a little disappointing to see that the interaction really wasn’t the kind of deep soul-stirring experience I had in mind.
The banter and texts were fun, something the author writes well. The side characters like the FMC’s family were good too (though I will never find it funny when old women cross boundaries with young men. If it is perv when a man does it, it is perv when a woman does it).
On a side note, I’m delighted that Lily is getting the next book. I have a feeling it will be better than this (and I have a guess on who the guy would be). Let’s see if I’m right!
While we do get enough about the MMC’s career, the FMC’s role as PR seems… useless. TBH, I haven’t seen her do a single thing about her job. Even when she should have been working on it, she doesn’t! And the resolution, though sweet, is becoming too cliché and tropey in this genre.
The romance is a strange combination of insta-love and slow burn. Not sure how they fell in love coz that was a bit too fast. At least, the slow burn balanced it out a little. It still tips heavily towards physical attraction, but there are some really wonderful moments.
Despite the issues I have (which are likely due to my high expectations), I can’t deny that I didn’t want to stop reading. I had to, of course, but I couldn’t wait to get back to it again.

To summarize, You Rock My World has all the ingredients and packs some solid emotions, but I do wish they were backed by a little more depth.
Thank you, NetGalley and Boldwood Books, for the eARC. This review is voluntary and contains my honest opinion about the book.

My sincere thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read You Rock My World by Camilla Isley. I give my unbiased opinion of this book in the following review.

What would you do if you got trapped in an elevator for 10 hours with a world-famous rock star? Well, that is exactly what happened to Josie when she was leaving work. She ended up trapped in an elevator with Rian Phoenix. Rian, whose real name is Dorian, was having a bad day that day, but sometimes getting stuck in an elevator when you are constantly being hounded by the press and crazy fans is not such a bad thing and if he had to get stuck with someone, he hit the jackpot with Josie whose witty sense of humor and "vending machine" purse made the hours pass quickly. They became friends quickly and shared more with each other than they normally would. Nothing was going to happen with Dorian being married and clearly living in another world compared to Josie, but it was an experience neither would forget for a while. About a year later their paths cross again. Circumstances are different now, but what does that mean for them? He may not be married anymore, but because Josie works for his PR company and has been added to his team, she would lose her job if they decide to explore the connection they feel towards one another. Can they hold back from the chemistry they feel? How hard is it really going to be to stick to the rules?

What can I say? I really loved this one. It was such a good slow burn with so much longing and pining going on interspersed with fun banter between Dorian and Josie. I am not one for insta love stories, but I think this one worked for me because there was a year between the time they first met and when they reconnect and then they spend time getting to know one another before they are able to be together. Josie also gets to experience some of what being with someone famous is going to be like as a member of his PR team. I liked that Dorian is not the typical bad boy rock star character even though he acts out in a few frustrating moments. I thought I had read a Camilla Isley book before, but apparently, I have not. Now I want to dig into some of her back list. I am also invested in the book she is going to write about Josie's widowed sister Lily. I can hardly wait for that. If you haven't tried a book by her, I definitely recommend You Rock My World.

FYI - Open door scene near the end with mild details. Some swear words that probably could have been left out without hurting the story.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC! If you’re ready to swoon for a rockstar/normal person romance, this has to be on your TBR. Josie and Dorian have their once in a lifetime meeting in an elevator, and part to never see each again - or will they? Loved every minute of their story!

Ohh how I fell for Josie and Dorian !!!

Their chemistry is obvious from the very first second in the elevator.
I really love a good slow burn and this is it ! You feel the tension during the whole book.

Dorian is such a nice guy, even if he looks untouchable as a rock star. Josie is so cute, down to earth and lovely. The subplot about her job could have been deeper but overall I loved everything about her and Dorian.

Billie Rae is a complex and despicable character who brings depth to Dorian's. What can you accept from someone you loved but who tries to destroy themself and bring you down with them ? What is left when love is gone ?

I can t wait for Lily's story ! She really needs her happy ever after after losing the love of her life.

Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for providing and eARC in exchange for an honest review.

An amazing story . Josie and Dorian get trapped on the elevator for 10 hours and between them there is a connection that they can't deny . One year later they meet at a party and the sparks are still there . Josie is assigned to be his PR until his is back , Dorian is a very famous singer and actor and has finalized his divorce but his ex is still making his life very difficult . Josie is trying very hard to resist her feelings but when everything he does for her makes it makes her love him even more .
I received this book from netgalley , the author and the publisher as an ARC . Thank you . All thoughts and opinions are my own .

This story offers a fun take on the rockstar romance trope. I especially enjoyed the way Josie and Dorian’s paths crossed, setting the stage for a connection that felt natural despite how different their lives are.

That said, the relationship pacing was a mixed experience for me. While I liked the gradual build, at times the chemistry between Josie and Dorian didn’t fully land, coming across a little too much like insta-love. Because of that, I found myself not as invested in their romance as I’d hoped.

Even so, it was an enjoyable read with some engaging moments. Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood for the ARC.

Rockstar romance, yes please!

Camilla Isley has done a great job with our Golden Retriever MMC Dorian and Sunshine FMC Josie, there was yearning & banter, and the flashbacks to the elevator was PERFECT! 💕

The only thing I struggled with was the pacing, I found it to be quite slow and our characters inner monologues felt like they dragged on at times for me.

Overall though I enjoyed this one! 💕

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the gifted copy!

Whenever I read a book by Camilla Isley, I want to kick myself for not reading more of her books! She always delivers and with You Rock My World, she rocked my joy of reading her romance books! I always fall for her characters, their banter, the plot and the journey they go on to be together!

Josie first meets rock star hottie, Rian Phoenix, when they get trapped overnight in an elevator together. They share snacks, witty banter, and secrets. There might have been a little attraction between them as well. Once saved from the elevator they go their separate ways but will their 'trapped-in-an-elevator meet-cute' stay with them????

A year later, Josie is asked to take over as Rian’s PR manager. The attraction is still there. But Josie can't fraternize with clients let alone have a relationship with them. What's a girl to do????

As I always say, it is all about the journey with romance books. Both characters were likeable and fully fleshed out. I liked Josie's relationship with her sister and niece. Rian has issues with his ex-wife and her struggles. I enjoyed both characters individually and as a couple. I enjoyed their chemistry, banter, and vulnerability with each other.

If you have read Camilla Isley before, you will swoon over this book. If you have not read a book by Camilla Isley, give this one a read, it will be music to your ears. Camilla Isley excels at witty and sexy banter, drama, and creating characters readers care about.

Gripping, hard to put down, charming and swoon worthy!

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

When the lift that Josie and Dorian breaks down, they are forced to spend the time together. They reveal things others don’t know, share what little food they have and instantly bond.

But, nothing can happen between them he’s a rockstar that everyone knows and is married, Josie works for the PR firm that he is a client of.

After a year has passed of no connection between them both, Josie has been given the job of doing his PR, his divorce is currently going through.

I loved the story and the characters.

I recommend this book.

Ten hours in an elevator and both Josie and Dorian’s lives are changed. They definitely rocked each other’s worlds in the best way—platonically. That night, those deep discussions they shared truly made their connection a memorable one.

Every subsequent interaction between them was also amazing, from the flirty texts to their regular phone calls to their banter in person. As they work closely with each other, they get more and more opportunities to further deepen their relationship.

This was an amazing rockstar romance and you can’t help but fall in love with Dorian, a superstar who is definitely not perfect, but who is just the person whom Josie needs in her life.

Ps. I can’t wait for Lily’s book next.

Camilla Isley has carved out a reputation for crafting sweet, sparkling romantic comedies that pair witty banter with swoon-worthy chemistry, and You Rock My World is no exception. This time, she takes on one of the most beloved tropes in rom-com fiction: the rockstar romance—but with her signature charm and a fresh, modern twist.

You Rock My World is the kind of romance that leaves you smiling long after you’ve turned the last page. It’s a perfect blend of fantasy (who wouldn’t want to be stuck in an elevator with a rock god?) and heartfelt romance, grounded in two characters who feel genuine and real.

✨ Verdict: A witty, swoony, feel-good romance that blends celebrity glam with real emotional depth. Perfect for fans of Sophie Kinsella, Ali Hazelwood, and anyone who loves a rockstar love story with heart.

Thanks so much NetGalley for the ARC!

𝗔𝗥𝗖 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪:

This book is an absolute treasure, a romance that captured my heart from the moment I started reading.

The starting point for Josie and Rian’s connection is utterly delightful, and honestly, it’s one of my favorite meet cutes ever. Imagine finding yourself confined, unexpectedly, with a global superstar in an elevator. The way their initial hours together unfolded, filled with humor, vulnerability, and an unexpected intimacy, simply enchanted me. That unique, close quarters beginning set such a wonderful, intriguing tone for everything that was to come, and I was completely charmed by it.

What truly swept me away, beyond that fantastic first encounter, was the way their relationship blossomed. This isn't a whirlwind romance that rushes headfirst into things, it's a journey that takes its time, allowing every feeling, every shared glance, and every quiet moment to simmer and grow beautifully. There's an incredible, building warmth between them, a delicious undercurrent of desire that makes every interaction sizzle with anticipation.

You can practically feel the sparks flying between Josie and Rian, even when they're simply having a conversation across a room. It’s the kind of developing affection that keeps you utterly glued to the pages, eager for every little step forward, every stolen look, and every whispered secret. The tension is real, the chemistry undeniable, and it’s layered onto a foundation of genuine connection that makes it all so incredibly rewarding. It just gets hotter and hotter as they navigate their tricky situation.

My adoration for Josie and Rian knows no bounds. Josie is such a relatable heroine, full of heart, smarts, and determination, trying her best in a demanding world. You can’t help but root for her. And Rian? He's everything you could wish for in a rockstar hero, and so much more. He’s charming and undeniably swoon worthy, but also wonderfully complex and surprisingly vulnerable beneath all the fame and headlines. Seeing the real Rian through Josie’s eyes was such a gift. Their individual journeys, blended so seamlessly with their entwined story, made for an incredibly absorbing read.

Honestly, from their deepest thoughts and struggles to the exciting twists and turns of their professional and personal worlds, I found myself completely invested in them, feeling everything alongside them.

The entire package of this book, the characters, the story, the emotional depth, the delightful humor, came together in a way that left me utterly satisfied and grinning.

Huge thanks go to NetGalley, Boldwood Books, and the wonderful Camilla Isley for the ARC that allowed me to get into this fantastic story. It was an absolute pleasure.

You can't help but root for Josie and Dorian every step of the way! I really enjoyed the dual POV, the banter and the tension throughout this book. You simply never want to put it down! “ Love isn’t about guarantees or safe choices. It’s about taking a leap of faith, even when the landing is uncertain. And maybe the heart really knows best.” Dorian and Josie’s love story is impossible for so many reasons but, surprisingly, they click together. His a gorgeous and famous rock star and she is a plain girl, but they see each other, the real ones. Can they fight their circumstances and finally have their HEA? Swoony, sweet, funny,p with deep feelings and tough moments. Loved it.

Thank you netgalley for the chance to read this!
I LOVE Camilla's books and this is no exception. The pitch is just fantastic: a PR associate and a rockstar share a random night locked in an elevator and can never get past their insta-chemistry. When given the chance to date they figure out balancing, chemistry, and tension with fame and professional goals.
This was just SO well done. The dual PoV really works: Dorian is smart, purposeful, and knows what he wants. He knows and values Josie in a way that's just unmatched. Josie is also so well done: she's loyal to her family, emotional, and truthful. They work together despite the slow burn of their relationship (and ohhhh is it slow burn) and the lack of a third act breakup is brilliant.
I cannot WAIT for the next books in this series. I loved the rockstar lifestyle, the focus on music, the PR angle, Josie's family (who are amazing!)...just a perfectly wonderful read from start to finish.

Josie & Dorian first meet when they’re stuck in an elevator together for 10 hours. Yikes, sounds very uncomfortable. They get to know each other very well and form an instant connection in such a short amount of time, but the problem is that he’s married so nothing can ever happen between them. They go their separate ways and then we flash forward a year and now they’re working side by side.

Even though this gives the insta~love vibe it was a super slow burn due to her working for him and it being forbidden. I can usually give or take slow burns, but I didn’t hate it for them because I felt like they really got to know each other in an organic way even with the yearning and tension. Don’t worry, he’s no longer married and thank goodness for that because they were not good together. But alas they cannot deny their attraction…

Love isn’t about guarantees or safe choices. It’s about taking a leap of faith, even when the landing is uncertain. And maybe the heart really knows best.

and you can probably guess what happens when something is deemed forbidden.

I really liked Josie's commitment to her sister, Lily, and niece, Penny, and I'm thrilled for a sequel for the happily ever after they deserve.

Overall, I thought it was adorable with top notch sassy banter. Most characters were fabulous, except for a couple. He was the sweetest rockstar I’ve ever read, and I’ve read like 2 😂, and he gave us some swoony moments. He does sing quite a bit, which is understandable, but I'm not sure I could handle someone singing to me all the time, I'd probably bust our laughing. Lastly, can I get a hallelujah for proper communicating adults?!
