Josie & Dorian first meet when they’re stuck in an elevator together for 10 hours. Yikes, sounds very uncomfortable. They get to know each other very well and form an instant connection in such a short amount of time, but the problem is that he’s married so nothing can ever happen between them. They go their separate ways and then we flash forward a year and now they’re working side by side.

Even though this gives the insta~love vibe it was a super slow burn due to her working for him and it being forbidden. I can usually give or take slow burns, but I didn’t hate it for them because I felt like they really got to know each other in an organic way even with the yearning and tension. Don’t worry, he’s no longer married and thank goodness for that because they were not good together. But alas they cannot deny their attraction…

Love isn’t about guarantees or safe choices. It’s about taking a leap of faith, even when the landing is uncertain. And maybe the heart really knows best.

and you can probably guess what happens when something is deemed forbidden.

I really liked Josie's commitment to her sister, Lily, and niece, Penny, and I'm thrilled for a sequel for the happily ever after they deserve.

Overall, I thought it was adorable with top notch sassy banter. Most characters were fabulous, except for a couple. He was the sweetest rockstar I’ve ever read, and I’ve read like 2 😂, and he gave us some swoony moments. He does sing quite a bit, which is understandable, but I'm not sure I could handle someone singing to me all the time, I'd probably bust our laughing. Lastly, can I get a hallelujah for proper communicating adults?!

This was so good!! I absolutely adore Camilla Isley and this did not disappoint! Her first novel about a rock star and the "normal" girl he falls for! Just so fun and sweet and I absolutely loved both main characters! There is going to be a sequel in the same world and I really can't wait to read it!! Thank you so much to NetGalley and to the publisher for my digital ARC!!

Camilla Isley takes a classic trope—a rockstar and an ordinary woman stuck in an elevator—and transforms it into something heartfelt and unforgettable. What starts as a charming setup quickly deepens into ten hours of connection, longing, and tension that stays with you long after the doors open.

This isn’t a fling but a slow-burn romance that thrives on aching chemistry. Josie, a witty and capable heroine, works hard to keep her emotions in check, while Rian (Dorian Phoenix to the world) is thoughtful, wounded, and quietly yearning for more than fame. Their push-and-pull is both deliciously frustrating and incredibly moving.

The dual POV and dual timelines enrich the narrative, letting us see both the past spark and present complications unfold in tandem. Isley’s writing balances humor, banter, and emotional intensity beautifully, making the story equally fun and poignant.

Though I longed for a slightly longer resolution, the romance’s payoff is deeply satisfying. You Rock My World is an addictive mix of angst, tenderness, and passion—a rockstar romance that truly hits all the right notes.

What happens when your one unforgettable elevator meet-cute turns into your next client? 🎸💕

A year ago, Josie, a tech PR, got stuck in an elevator with none other than Rian “Dorian”, a world-famous rockstar. With nowhere to go, they shared hugs, quiet comfort, and even their deepest secrets. But Dorian was married, and once the elevator doors opened, they went their separate ways. Fast-forward a year—Josie is hired as Dorian’s new PR rep. Now divorced and ready to pursue the woman he never forgot, Dorian must juggle fame, privacy, and his feelings for Josie.

I adored this book. Their elevator meet-cute was the most heartfelt, honest connection I’ve read in a long time—it set the tone for a relationship built on trust. Dorian’s way of “woo-ing” Josie was genuine, respectful, and so swoony. They communicated clearly, gave each other space when needed, and faced their mistakes without letting them break them apart. And best of all—no third-act breakup! Just two adults loving each other in the healthiest, green-flaggiest way possible. I fell in love with Dorian and Josie right alongside them. Easily one of my new favorite rockstar romances.

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for a honest review. I promise my review is 100% accurate to me.

Proof that a romance novel doesn't need to be overtly smutty to be entertaining. The characters are likable and the dialogue entertaining.

i new i was going to want to read this book as soon as i read the blurb. i have been leaning towards these books for their adorable comfort recently. the world is a mess, id like some dreamy respite please. and this provided all i could have wished for.
music, sass, banter and love. yeh go on then...
i love how our pairs romance was always there but it was not the right time. then life and time moves on perhaps with them both getting wrong ideas. then bam they are forced back together and its clear all those feelings never went away. but as with life moving in it also means we grow wiser and often more cautious. and this is the case with our female lead. she wont let herself go there again with this man. definitely not with this man. she cant.wont,cant.wont. oh no she is!
our pair Josie and Rian first meet in an elevator. she has pre-views of this man. we all know what the media can do. but this quickly get re-written with how he is with her. but when the elevator opens its all over. and this hurts. so Josie walks away with a vow to protect her heart.
when they meet again its for much more serious reasons as Josie is now part of the team that need to protect his job and image at a difficult time for him. and in doing so she must protect hers too. but she will be professional and treat it as every other job. only she knows deep down she cant. and when his feelings for her are clear as day to us all we cant wait for what comes next for the two of them.
and its lovely to watch this slow build romance. its mixed with fun, banter and smiles. but its also filled with emotionally layered moments. working together, growing together and growing trust is just some of the things we get a gorgeous view of in this book.
the books layout meant i was reading this book from start to finish all too easily. its short chapters so your getting these gorgeous bite sized moments of this pairs story. and it also makes it feel like each chapter we are also moving on a level with them getting to know and connect with each other.
of course its not all plain sailing. there is inner turmoils to get over but also wondering what life with a rock star could ever work like. the world is watching and we allllll know how that usual fairs for couples.
i was smiling most of the way through this book. and i loved it made me do this. this book was honestly just what i needed this week.

Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the eARC!

This was a sweet romance, but I ended up DNF'ing it at the third-act break-up. Or what I assume is the third-act break-up. Once Josie starts blaming Rian for her place in the world... I just didn't want to continue.
I think Josie is probably a great character, but despite being in her head, I never felt like I really knew her. And Rian seemed too good to be true in most cases - the fact that he seemed to come across as totally blameless in the marriage falling apart (and everything was the wife's (and her addition's) fault) was over the top. I wanted Josie and Rian both to be more balanced characters.

Having loved Camilla's books it was a no brainer to accept this ARC Read through Boldwood Books.

Love Camilla's writing and this was no exception. Really enjoyed this book, and how she brought Josie and Dorian's story to life, showing us an insight of what it could be like to live the life of a Rockstar and the highs and lows that come with, especially with particular people, naming no names...

You could feel the chemistry between the both of them from when they first meet in the elevator, and even when certain things come between them, nothing will stop the both of them eventually taking the next step.

An absolutely fabulous read.

I wasn’t able to finish this book and I’m honestly a little bit gutted about it:( The premise sounds amazing and I was super excited, but in the first chapter it drops that Rian was (and is still) married. Entirely not anyone’s fault, but that’s one of my big no’s for books due to personal history and C-PTSD. I read through the description to double check that it hadn’t just been me not reading properly when applying, but I could see it mentioned in the description that he is/was married. As it’s mentioned in the first chapter maybe you could put it in the description (or at least allude to it). I might just be more sensitive to that compared to most people, but I know a few people who also wouldn’t read books where the MMC is married to someone else during.

I've been a BIG fan of Camilla Isley for a while & her latest story #YouRockMyWorld did not disappoint. Josie, a PR representative & Dorian, a world-famous rock star have a happenstance meeting when the elevator they're both in gets stuck for many hours. They click immediately, but the timing wasn't right. One year later Josie takes over as Dorian/Rian's PR manager. Their chemistry is still amazing, but between fame/paparazzi, family, career, & an unhealthy ex-wife these two have a lot to work through. As the readers, you're cheering on Josie & Dorian's relationship cause their characters just mesh so well together.
Thank you, #NetGalley, for allowing me to read #YouRockMyWorld by Camilla Isley. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book on #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own, but if you're a romantic at heart, and enjoy both a little drama & passion as well, then you'll enjoy this sweet story.

5 Stars! You Rock My World by Camilla Isley is a must read! If you love great banter and chemistry along with an unusual meet cute, you will love this story. The book is fast paced and has such great characters. My family thought I was nuts reading this nonstop and laughing the whole time. I was sad to see it end but am looking forward to Lily’s story.

Thank you to NetGalley, Boldwood Books and Camilla Isley for allowing me to read an advanced copy. The thoughts and opinions are my own.

Josie, a PR manager, finds herself trapped in an elevator with rockstar Rian Phoenix. Sparks fly instantly, but with him being both too famous and too married, Josie walks away once they’re freed—only to cross paths with him again a year later.

I usually love Camilla Isley’s books, but unfortunately, this one just didn’t work for me.

The time jumps between their first meeting and the present felt jarring, and I never really believed in the chemistry between Josie and Rian—either then or now. Neither character resonated with me, and the storyline felt both predictable and flat. The stakes they kept mentioning didn’t come across as genuine either, especially since they were often dismissed almost immediately in the next scene.

Another issue for me was the way Rian’s ex-wife was written. Casting her as an addict and, by extension, the “crazy villain” felt heavy-handed and lacked sensitivity. Addiction is a very real struggle, and as a recovering alcoholic myself, this element really soured the story for me. With more nuance and compassion, it could have been handled very differently.

Ultimately, nothing about this book stood out as memorable, and I wish I’d skipped it just to keep my previously positive impression of Isley’s writing intact.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

THINGS I LIKED
1. The chemistry between the MCs, it was instant and cute.
2. I liked how the author was able to strike a balance closed door and opened door romances
3. The ending was okay too
4. It was a fast read for me.
👩🏼‍💼👩🏼‍❤️‍👨🏼👨🏼‍🎤
THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE
1. I felt like I was misinformed going into the book, I would have liked it if Rian's marriage was included in blurb.
2. The beginning of their love story felt somehow to me with Rian's marriage. Yes it was shaky with no fault of his, but he was already emotionally invested in Josie. Now, Josie who thought he had a happy marriage, yet was still carried a touch for him for a year, kinda weird
3. I didn't really get much about their individual lives
4. Josie’s attitude towards the end, she should have known the risks of dating a celebrity
5. It was quite predictable.
👨🏼‍🎤👩🏼‍❤️‍👨🏼👩🏼‍💼
For me, the book was okay, but not my favourite

Dorian ‘Rian’ and Josie meet when they’re stuck in an elevator, Dorian is off limits and married but it doesn’t stop the sparks flying. Flash forward and Josie is assigned a new client who specifically requested her and much to her surprise in walks Dorian.

I adore Camilla Isley (always and forever) and enjoyed this book a lot, I will say it wasn’t my favourite of hers but I still devoured it. I would say if you’re looking for a rockstar romance that’s a quick read and really well thought out characters, this is the book for you.

While this is a slow burn there were times where it felt very insta love and I had to keep reminding myself they had previously met and it was a love a first sight situation ( not my fav but the book really holds its own and kept me interested).

The characters go through a lot and the character development was solid and explored throughout the story via the many mishaps and roadblocks they face ( a certain ex that keeps causing trouble).

The characters read very genuine and mature (which is always something I enjoy) and the banter and character dynamics were top tier, Josie really saw Dorian for who he was and I loved they took the time to get to know each other on a much deeper level rather than just jumping the gun.

A huge thank you to NetGalley & Boldwood Books for the e-arc and as per usual I will read whatever Camilla Isley publishes and stay up until 3am until I finish it.

You Rock my World by Camilla Isley is the story of PR agent agent, Josie and rockstar, Dorian.

A chance encounter leads to being stuck in an elevator and a heart-to-heart that neither of them can forget.

Fast-forward to a year later: Dorian, now divorced, hires Josie to head up his PR team and though still smitten from the year before, Josie cannot give into her feelings for Dorian and keep her job.

I really enjoyed this romantic comedy. Josie and Dorian were intelligently written and you could not help but root for them. The story was engaging and realistic. A great piece of romantic escapism.

I actually own a couple of Isley's books but am yet to read one, so getting hold of an ARC of this one I knew was my chance to finally dive in!

The novel follows strait-laced PR assistant Josie and the lead singer of a rock band Dorian 'Rian' Phoenix. They meet when a power failure leaves them stuck in an elevator together for 10 hours. In that time, they spend talking about their lives and make an instant connection but they go their separate ways, he is married after all. 1 year later, they meet up at a party and their connection is rekindled when he chooses her to be his personal PR assistant. Her boss approves the move but is very strict on the rule of having no relationships with clients.

I enjoyed their banter, it was witty and quick and was a great positive. Told from alternating POVs, it was nice to get into both their heads. There was a lot of sexual tension and it added to the desire throughout the book. However, it was a little bit insta-love for my liking. While liking both characters and thoroughly enjoying their mature communication, I just couldn't see them ACTUALLY being together. I wish more depth in the novel had gone into their lives and back stories rather than starting in the elevator and flipping straight into their lives together.

However, this is a great rom com to dive into if you want a fast, easy to read love story. The rock band and celebrity lifestyle explored is cool and it was enjoyable, but probably not memorable. I see a sequel is due with the main character being Josie's sister, which I am very keen to read!

Thank you to Boldwood Books for providing me with this ARC through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Oh man, I don't know what to think about this.

I'm gonna rate it 5 stars just because I love Camila Isley and I'm devouring everything she writes, but... not 5-star-worthy, definitely.

Don't get me wrong, I loved You Rock My World, but at some point, I find it lacking in tension and action. And yeah, this contradicts somehow all my complaints about third-act breakups (I know!), but this is one part I loved about this book, there was none of that. Rian and Josie were extremely mature about it all, but... I thought it would be more like fake dating or forced proximity rather than.. whatever this was.

I felt like there was no real conflict involved, and the two were just in a relationship without kissing and having sex for no reason. I don't understand this type of trope. They were emotionally involved, with Josie in love with Dorian for a year since their night together. Kissing and sex don't make it complicated, EMOTIONS do. which they had. from day 1.

So it felt extremely undeserving to have the first kiss at 77% since they were in a relationship since, probably 10%? Maybe a bit further away.

Dorian was a nice character, but somehow he felt a bit too book boyfriend, because this wouldn't happen in real life. He was a rockstar, beloved worldwide, but he was nice to his ex, was nice to Josie, and all around. I liked that about him but again, no stakes. no conflict.

It also felt sort of like insta-love because, although they develop their connection in the present, both of them are in 100%... except for the PDA. It made no sense.

As always, it was an extremely fun read, their banter was amazing, although I really don't understand characters who are soooo blatantly sarcastic and fun, but then say they're so intimidated? I don't relate to that, if I'm intimidated, I have 0 brain left.

Thanks to NetGalley and the author for the opportunity to read an early arc in exchange for a free review.
