Some people say that falling in love takes time, I say it could take only an instant . In this case, 10 hours .

This book was fun in the cheesiest way possible . I was hooked since the first chapter and I must admit I’m obsessed over the lyrics of the song that Dorian sang in Josie’s sister courtyard . Josie’s personality was a breath of fresh air and exactly what Dorian needed when he felt like he was drowning .

I loved the dynamic between the two of them and really appreciate that although they were sexy scenes, the spice didn’t take over the soul of the story. However , I kind of feel like it went downhill at the end of the book . The drama was too much, the live interview and Billie’s call were unrealistic . The accident . The grand gesture . It felt like trying too much and even though I didn’t loose interest, I had to roll my eyes a few times to get through the story .

This was a super cute, fun, mostly light read and exactly what I needed.

Josie’s a PR manager for tech clients, not celebrities, but now she’s handling PR for rock star Dorian. The same guy she was trapped in an elevator with, fell in love with, and has been trying to get over for months. When he specially requests her, she can’t say no, and the feelings come storming back. But it’s completely forbidden—if she dates a client, she’ll be fired on the spot and she’s worked too hard to let that happen.

Josie and Dorian are super cute together, the tension and chemistry are fantastic, and there’s so much sweetness. As they spend more time together, resistance is tougher and they tread into dangerous territory. Where they draw the line is a bit arbitrary—they seem to think as long as they don’t actually hook up but do other things, all is good. Still, You Rock My World is a fast, fun, and adorable read.

Loved this book! It was sweet how Josie and Dorian first met in the elevator, formed a connection that wasn’t meant to be at the time, then reconnected a year later. The switching between time periods (1yr ago during the elevator situation vs present-day) was well done and really drew me into their stories.

I liked the time they took to get to know one another better, because it made their story seem realistic. I also appreciated having the story told from both Josie and Dorian’s viewpoints, and found myself rooting for them both throughout the book!

Overall, the book has great banter, relatable characters, and an interesting plot. I would highly recommended it! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this free advanced copy - this is my honest and voluntary review.

Thank you Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the ARC!

You Rock My World follows Josie, who found herself stuck in an elevator with rock musician Rian Phoenix. Neither of them expected the connection they would build, but once those elevator doors opened they became strangers again. A year later Josie has moved on, until she suddenly finds herself the new PR Manager for Rian, and he hasn’t forgotten her.

This book has mixed tropes in such an endearing way. The chemistry between Josie and Rian is instant, their banter is endearing, yet their relationship is a perfect slow burn yearning. The book almost feels like a second chance romance - Josie and Rian’s elevator encounter establishes such strong chemistry between them - you really understand their connection within the first few chapters.

“And see, this is the problem. Because since I got stuck in an elevator with this man a year ago, I’ve been madly, irrationally, hopelessly in love with him. And not the mega star, Ryan Phoenix, who women all over the world fantasize about. No, much worse, because I’m in love with Dorian. The sarcastic, unapologetic, goofy, and still sexy-as-hell man behind the fame. The real him.”

I enjoyed both of these characters together, but Rian stood out so much for me. I loved how honest and thoughtful he was, and the fact he was so head over heels for Josie had me swooning.

I was expecting an easy summer read, oh boy, how wrong I was. It's intense, it sucks you right in the story, is beautiful.
I've adored the start, with Josie pov in present and Dorian's in the past.
Josie and Dorian are refreshing characters, with Josie being direct and Dorian communicative. So it is possible to find a story without misscommunication...
Their story makes you FEEL and it's unputdownable.

“You Rock My World” is a second-chance (kinda) romance book by Camilla Isley. This book’s second chapter starts with a flashback that, as the book continues, gets expanded upon and gives backstory to the “meet cute” a year before the rest of the story occurs. I found this book a really fast and engaging read. While the book focuses on the relationship between the two (though there is some side-story given to the main female character regarding her family), I felt that knowing a bit more about the people individually would’ve rounded the book out better - but that’s really my only criticism. This book, once the flashback is over, moves along at a good clip - and that, at least for me, made this book enjoyable. The main female character has sass - which I enjoyed. I can see this being a Hallmark movie - though Hallmark might have to clean things up a little bit. Enjoyable fast read.

I was hooked from the very beginning of this story and read this book in one day. I liked that it was told from both Josie and Dorian's points of view, with chapters at the beginning of the book alternating between their past when they first met and the present where they see each other again. I can't wait to read Lily's story and hope it comes out soon. I was given an advance reader copy from NetGalley and am leaving an honest review.

The premise of You Rock My World immediately caught my attention—a celebrity/musician x fan romance with a charming “stuck in an elevator” meet-cute. The opening was engaging, with witty banter and a lighthearted dynamic that made me excited to see where the story would go.

However, as the book progressed, I found myself struggling to stay engaged. While the characters were sweet, much of the middle section leaned heavily on physical tension that felt repetitive. The “rule” they set for themselves created prolonged restraint, but instead of building anticipation, it became predictable, as the narrative circled around the same will-they-won’t-they moments.

Additionally, the reliance on text message exchanges as full chapters disrupted the flow for me. While texting can be a fun way to showcase modern relationships, the frequency here began to feel more like reading transcripts than developing a novel’s depth.

Unfortunately, I was unable to finish the book. That said, readers who enjoy lighter celebrity romances, playful banter, and a modern communication style may still find this story enjoyable. While this one wasn’t for me, I appreciate the opportunity to read and review an advance copy.

📖 ARC REVIEW 📖

Thank you @theboldbookclub for an early copy of You Rock My World by Camilla Isley. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. 🤍

Rating: ⭐⭐/5
Release date: September 11th, 2025

Blurb: Josie never expected being stuck in an elevator with rock legend Rian Phoenix would spark a real connection, but their night of shared secrets and chemistry leaves a lasting mark. A year later, she’s stunned to find herself as his new PR manager, forced to balance professionalism with the undeniable pull between them. With her career on the line and the world watching, Josie must choose between guarding her heart or risking everything for love.

🛑Read on with caution; review may contain spoilers🛑

You Rock My World by Camilla Isley had an overall storyline that was interesting, though quite predictable. The main characters were undeniably charming, and their chemistry was heavily emphasized, filling the book with romance at every turn. However, I found myself wishing for more depth beyond the love story. I wanted to know who these characters were as individuals, their ambitions, their pasts, and what truly shaped them so I could connect with them on a deeper level. Unfortunately, the focus on romance overshadowed their personal development.

That said, I did enjoy how beautifully Rian describes Josie. It’s clear she completely captivated him, and those moments of admiration were sweet and well-written. Still, without more balance between romance and character depth, the story didn’t leave a lasting impact for me. While I truly love Camilla Isley as an author and have enjoyed her previous releases, this one just didn’t sit right with me.

You Rock My World was a lust and tension filled, second chance (ish), workplace forbidden romance between Rian Phoenix, world famous Rockstar, and Josie, his newly assigned PR manager. Almost a year after a chance encounter of being stuck in an elevator together, Josie and Rian reencounter one another when she is assigned to be his PR manger, but what happens in the elevator, doesn’t always stay in the elevator.

WOW I absolutely devoured this book. Right from that start I was hooked into Jose and Dorian’s story. If there’s one thing that will get me EVERY TIME it’s a man that yearns for a woman, and I was fed with this one. From that start we understood how they both felt for each other and it made the moments of lust and tension so good. So many will they or won’t they scenes had me swooning on the edge of my seat. With moments of vulnerability and open communication this story brought all the right vibes for me and I had such a good time reading it!

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books and Camilla Isley for this ARC this review will be my honest opinon about this book. This is my first book by Camilla Isley and I enjoyed it.
This is my second Rockstar book after I read Daisy Jones and the Six.
Josie works for a PR team that Rain Phoenix a.k.a Dorian has hired to represent him in his divorce case the only problem is the two have a past they met one year ago when they got stuck in an elevator a year previously.
I like the forbidden aspects of their romance since Josie is part of the PR team and Dorian is her client and the fact Billie Rae is ex-wife is always showing up. I did feel bad for her as she clearly has some issues she has to work though.
Overall, I did like this book I would definitely read another one of Camilla Isley's books.

⭐️⭐️⭐️
Having read and enjoyed much of Camilla Isley’s back catalogue, I was excited to receive this ARC. The story had a fun premise — a rock star with baggage paired with a determined PR rep — and I really enjoyed their dynamic. However, I did feel the ex-wife drama was a little overdone at times, and I wasn’t entirely convinced Dorian was fully over her, which came across as a bit of a red flag for me.

That said, it’s still a sweet romance with a satisfying happy ending. I was also glad to see hints that Lily will be getting her own book — I’m definitely looking forward to her story.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read this ARC.

You Rock My World by Camilla Isley is a fun, romantic, and engaging story that had me hooked from the very first page. Josie and Rian’s chemistry was both sweet and irresistible, making their journey full of charm and emotion. I loved every moment of this feel-good romance. I truly enjoyed it and give it five stars.

Rian and Josie meet in an elevator and end up spending hours together talking ( so cute). They both feel a click and chemistry but of course they can't do anything about it because well, Rockstar.. and also.. married. What Josie doesn't know is that Rian's marriage is on the Rocks.

They part ways but Josie meets him a year later as his PR rep to help as he goes through his split

Once again .. "chemistry" but they can't act on it because of Rian's split with his wife and Josie needs to protect her job. They keep their feelings and "friendship" on the low and when the time comes.... oh boy!!

I'll just say I was smiling like an idiot .

Recommend as a fun, quick Rockstar romance that will leave you smiling at the end!

Many thanks to Netgalley, Boldwood books and author for the opportunity to read in advance and share my thoughts.

I really loved this book. From the start, it caught me and didn’t let go. Josie and Dorian were just amazing. I laughed a lot and also felt so much tension because their connection was so strong. I liked Josie because she was smart, and warm, and Dorian was perfect, not just hot rockstar but also kind and thoughtful. I loved how they had to wait, how they could not be together at first, and how everything made their moments more intense. The slow build of feelings was really good. The author made every scene feel real, funny, and romantic at the same time. The pacing was perfect, I never got bored. This was exactly the kind of romance I love. Thank you so much to the author and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read the book in advance, I received this for free and I'm leaving a honest review

This was such a fun mix of insta-chemistry meets slow-burn yearning—and I really enjoyed it!

Josie, our FMC, is sharp, sassy, and dedicated to her career, but it’s Dorian (aka Rian Phoenix, rockstar extraordinaire) who completely stole the show for me. I’m a sucker for a MMC who wears his heart on his sleeve, and Dorian is absolutely that guy. He’s thoughtful, protective, and clearly head-over-heels from the start—the kind of hero who makes you swoon because he cares so deeply.

The setup—a PR manager thrown together with a rockstar in need of saving his image—feels familiar, but the way their connection unfolds makes it addictive. Their time together in the elevator was such a strong start, and I loved how that carried into the rest of the story with so much longing and tension. It had me smiling, sighing, and at times wanting to shake them both for not just saying what they were feeling.

There is a touch of drama woven in (including his ex and her struggles), which sometimes slowed things down, but overall the emotional depth worked for me. I also really liked the balance between humor, heartfelt moments, and swoony romance—the banter sparkled, but the vulnerability between Josie and Dorian gave the book its heart.

📚 Tropes you’ll find:
✨ Rockstar x PR Manager
✨ He falls first (and hard)
✨ Instalove that still feels like a slow burn
✨ Ex drama + emotional baggage
✨ Yearning + delicious tension

This isn’t just a fluffy rockstar romance—it’s got layers of vulnerability, heartache, and second chances. If you love a hero who’s 100% smitten and a heroine who makes him work for it, this is one you’ll want to pick up.

Thank you to NetGalley, Camilla Isley and Boldwood Books for this ARC

Not your usual Camilla Isley read. This slow simmering burn romance has a rock star and his PR in a secret and forbidden relationship. There's a crazy ex, and that's where the excitement ends. While it is well developed, it did not catch my attention as I have come to expect from this author's work. There's next to nothing spice and at times the writing is perversely verbose.
That said, this work would appeal to close-door, slow-to-develop, celebrity crush romance readers.
