For my girlies who read Harry styles fanfiction and dream of a sexy, tattooed, emotionally mature, rockstar boyfriend: you’re going to love this one. Our characters meet and feel an instant spark: but real life complications keep them apart.

Like his messy ex wife. Or his millions of fans. Or her boss who made it very clear that she needs to stay professional at all times.

I enjoyed that the problems keeping these two apart felt real. I typically hate ‘other woman drama’ but it felt nuanced here and is a huge part of our MMC’s character and development. I’m not sure we got a totally satisfying conclusion to that storyline but I thought the angst it added was great for the story.

This book is really insta lovey which isn’t really my thing. What’s nice is that the circumstances keeping them apart mean they have to get to know one another on an emotional level before a physical one. (And heads up, the only true spice in this book is one scene at the very end)

This book has all of the classic rockstar romance tropes. A big accidental reveal to fans, songs he wrote for her, a romantic serenade or two. It was a little cheesy for me but if your fantasy is a rockstar singing for you in front of all your neighbors you’re going to swoon.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the instalove and marriage elements at play because it made the romance less believable and was hard to justify the actions of the characters. I will say though I love the fast paced and sexy vibe of rockstar romances so I think those elements were fun. Even though it started in an insta-love way there were elements of yearning and pining that were in the story. I liked the forced proximity and the tension that insued. I think this book wasn't for me only because of the origins of their relationship. I love a second chance romance but this didn't feel like that because of the circumstances that surrounded the meet cute in the elevator! I love a dual timeline, issues can come with that and effect the pacing however I think that part of the story was written well and the overall flow and progression of the story was good.

ARC review
Publication date 11 September 2026

"You Rock My World" by Camilla Isley is a rockstar romance

I received an e-ARC from Boldwood Books (via Netgalley).
Opinions from this review are completely my own.

What you can expect:
- rockstar x PR manager
- insta-love
- forced proximity
- yearning
- forbidden romance
- slow burn with low spice
- dual POV and timeline

A year ago, Josie and the rock star Rian Phoenix got trapped overnight in an elevator.
Those 10 hours were enough for them to fall in love. The issue is that he was married.
Now she's reassigned as Rian’s PR manager, after his divorce is announced.

I liked this story very much. The first chapters alternate between the present and a year ago and we get to experience the first time they meet.
Even if I am not an instalove fan, in this book I did not mind it.
The romance is more of a slow burn, as they do not see each other for 1 year and then they need to hide from the world so that she doesn't loose her job.

From the first interactions they had great chemistry and I enjoyed their banter.
There is some drama with the ex-wife, but I liked the way it was handled.
Also, the writing is good and the pace is constant.

If you like rockstar romances I recomand this book.

I really enjoyed this book. It was an adorable ooey gooey instalove dreamy romance. The intense connection they make right away in the elevator was so emotional and perfect. Dorian is the dream guy for any girl. The songs, the comments, the actions, the descriptions.... Girls would be drooling. I loved the respect he had for his ex and his marriage and Josies family. Also, that both parties in the main couple made mistakes throughout the story. It wasn't one sided. Showing that relationships are work all around and will never be perfect. The ending was a romance lover's dream. Bringing back the 80's grand gesture in rockstar fashion! This was a very quick and easy book to blow through.

You Rock my World was a great read. I particularly liked that it wasn't the standard "will they, won't they?" as they were both clearly in love from the start. It was silly, funny and romantic and a great holiday easy read.

So the story is about Josie and Dorian, who find themselves trapped in an elevator for hours at the beginning of the book, but the actual love story starts a bit later.
I did like the overall storyline: a PR falling for a rockstar. I’ve enjoyed Camilla Isley’s stories before, so I was hopeful about this one as well. Unfortunately, it fell a little flat for me. Yes, the romance is there, but it leans more toward insta-love and feels a bit shallow at times. I would’ve loved to learn more about the characters individually, rather than focusing almost entirely on their relationship. For me, that is essential to really connect with them.
That said, it’s not a bad read, and if you don’t mind a fast-burning rockstar romance, it’s definitely worth a shot!

An unexpected slow burn for a rock star romance, but I absolutely loved it! The dual perspectives and timeline jumps make it easy to follow each person's thoughts and see how they ended up there, and there are a lot of hard realities about life in the fast lane incorporated into the plot. The meet-cute was improbable (and yet, still, true to life), and their chemistry was undeniable. I love how it was more about letting the relationship naturally build than about being a spicy romance.

This was such an easy read and I loved it. The chemistry was so strong and they didn't even kiss until almost the end of the book. I love how they took the time to get to know each other and that they still had a connection even after a year.

I received an arc through netgalley.

You Rock My World by Camilla Isley is a fun, quick read that delivers what Ms. Isley is best at - a happy ever after that makes you smile while you're reading it.

When musician Dorian holds the elevator for Josie, a PR rep at the firm he's going to a meeting at, neither of them knew that their lives were about to change. First, the elevator they're in gets stuck for 10 hours during a city-wide power outage. During those ten hours, they connect on a not normal level, that, when they are rescued stays with each of them, even though they don't see each other again.

Until....a year later Rian is getting a divorce and Josie is his chosen new PR rep. They can't deny the chemistry that's still between the two of them from that one encounter and the book is their romance.

The author uses flashbacks and dual point of view, so we know how everyone feels/felt throughout the whole book. There were some spots that seemed a bit rushed to me, but I'm not a fan of insta-love romances so that is more than likely why I feel this way. Overall, it's another winner from this author who is an automatic read for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in conseration of an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Here we meet Dorian and Josie, a rockstar and his PR employee. This was a sweet slow burn of a romance, I read it so quickly and loved the writing style so much. I enjoyed the text messages, the dialogue and I felt like there was a great balance between description and dialogue. This was a wholesome romance, there was some cheeky bits through out and it wasn’t overly smutty which I appreciated - also makes a difference from a lot of books on the market just now.

Also, can we please discuss the Cassian reference?!?! IYKYK…

Again, I really enjoyed this and would definitely read more of Camilla Isley’s books!

I am a sucker for a romance where two people meet randomly, one is assigned to fix/help something and we all know what happens next.
This was just so stinking cute!

Okay, this was absolutely adorable!! Thank you, NetGalley, for the opportunity to read this ARC. What I would give to be loved the way Dorian loves Josie 😍. This story would have my early teenage self in a fucking chokehold thinking if I could just get a job in PR then Joe Jonas or Zayn Malik would fall in love with me 😅

When Josie is called into her boss's office, she has no idea what to expect. And definitely isn't expecting to be switched from the tech team of a PR firm to be an actual PR agent...to the rockstar she's been obsessed with for years. She actually knows him, spent ten hours in an elevator with him once, and hasn't stopped thinking about him ever since.
Rian Phoenix can't stop thinking about the girl in the elevator. She's not the reason he's finally getting a divorce, but he's hoping they might still have a connection. He requests for her to be his interim PR agent and is still crazy about her.

Can their attraction survive a crazy ex, workplace red tape, and fame?

If Camilla Isley writes it, you can guarantee I'm gonna read it!

Ifyou've ever dreamt of having a rockstar boyfriend, you need to read this book!!!

Although it's fictional, I love that it touched on the realities of having a rockstar boyfriend with a corporate lifestyle and how him being on tour / travelling could make things challenging for a relationship

Not really any spice to it but it's a brilliant plot

Rockstar romance? Count me in! Camilla Isley writes fun banter, snarky sarcasm, longing, and whirlwind romance in the best way, ensuring that you’re roped into the story and falling hard for the characters as they explore their feelings for one another and how far they’re willing to go.

Josie and Dorian’s relationship was a fun read with laugh-out-loud moments, sincerity and vulnerability that gave the book a cosy and engaging feel.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the e-ARC!

A fab rockstar romance, this was filled with longing glances, will they-won't they moments and flirty banter.

I'm generally not a fan of insta-love romances, but actually, Josie and Rian didn't grate on me in that way. From their first meeting, when they get trapped together in an elevator, there is noticeable chemistry. They flirt, they connect, and there's clearly a potential for more. But I actually really enjoyed the fact that Rian took a step back and realised that he wasn't in the right place to pursue somebody new, and that when they reconnected, they didn't fall straight into a heavy relationship but agreed to get to know more about each other.

Not too spicy, this read, but the slow burn was scooooorching!

Huge thanks to Boldwood Books, NetGalley and Camilla Isley for the chance to read early, ahead of September's release. I can't wait to pick up a copy, and am looking forward to seeing Lily find her HEA too!

Can you imagine being trapped in an elevator with your favorite musician? And the chemistry between the two of you being undeniable? Josie doesn’t have to imagine it because it happened to her and she was somehow able to get back to her normal life. Until a year later when her new work assignment is none other than Rian Phoenix, superstar and the man who sang her a lullaby in an elevator. So many reasons she should keep it professional but have we forgotten the undeniable chemistry? This was a story you want to inhale, funny and sweet and full of good banter. The writing was so good that, for me, it made it harder to ignore how much I disliked the handling of the central conflict. All the charm evaporated for me during it which frustrated me and kept this from being a 5 star read.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review..

This one had me smiling from start to finish. Light, charming, and full of feel-good moments, with just enough swoon to make your heart flutter. The chemistry felt real, and the banter? Totally on point.

A perfect weekend read when you need a little joy and escape.

I binged this book. A slow burn that had me clicking through the pages like a maniac.
Josie and Dorian were both very likeable characters. Immediately I rooted for them both. The plot was just the right side of predictable.

Thank you Boldwood Books and Camilla for the opportunity to read this delight!

This is such a different take on a Rockstar romance, and I really enjoyed it. It can be all too easy to assume those living a rockstar lifestyle have it all; the trouble is, money can’t buy you happiness, but that’s not what the public want to see, so we get painted a picture. But what do you need to aid that delivery…a good PR firm.
That’s where Josie and Rian meet again. When Rian’s PR manager goes on maternity leave, Josie is reassigned; she can’t refuse, but being put into his orbit is the last thing she wants.
She’s spent the last year healing her heart from their last encounter, the one where she was stuck overnight in an elevator with him, the one where she shared her “bag snacks” and discovered he’s not the bad boy his image portrays.
The last thing she wants is to let this man in again, so professional it is, especially after being told he’s off-limits as she’d lose her job. This proves easier said than done when the man himself felt that same connection a year ago; he knows he has less to lose than she does. One of my favourite lines is during his POV; he says:
“ When the time comes, when Josie will have to choose between me and her career, between me and her anonymity - her family privacy - will she think I’m worth the price? I hope she will because I’d give it all up for her.”
I had such a fun time reading this, true slow burn but so worth it.
Thank you NetGalley, Camilla Isley and Boldwood Books for the ARC, all opinions expressed are my own.

the best perk of being in Boldwood Books auto-approved list is that i get to read all of Camilla Isley’s books earlier!!! and i love that for me because i fond everything she writes and this was no exception.
