I like Camilla’s books and this was a good storyline she had in this book. This was better than the last book she had where she had the better than fiction one. I just didn’t care for the few curse words mixed in there and the few open door scenes. I prefer the more closed or fade to black books . I would read more of her books and recommend books to people , especially this one . Rian the rocker and Josie his PR rep that fall for each other is such a good storyline line and you can’t put the book down
Thank you NetGalley and publishers for the book

Camilla Isley is one of my favourite authors who always delivers a fun, witty and entertaining story. In You Rock My World, rockstar Dorian ‘Rian’ Phoenix gets trapped in a lift with PR assistant Josie during a city wide power cut. Considered a low priority by the emergency services and not expecting to meet again, the pair spend 10 hours in the lift, sharing stories and secrets to pass the time, forming a genuine bond in the process.
The story unfolds when they meet again a year later, and is told from alternating points of view and a dual timeline, which works really well and keeps it interesting.
If you love a feel good romance with main characters you can really root for, this is a wonderful example of the genre. I can't wait for the next installment!
Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the review copy.

I really enjoyed the style of writing and the story.
Trapped in a lift for 10 hours, rock superstar Rian and Josie, pr worker, get to know eachother.
Attracted but the married Rian respects boundaries.
Reunited 12 months later and thing's have changed. No longer married but working together means Josie's job is at stake if they act on the attraction.
A slow burn with boundaries, feeling their way to work out if they can overcome obstacles of jobs, fame and logistics to be together.
I enjoyed the book and am looking forward to reading more books by Camilla

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for granting me free access to the advanced digital copy of this book. A gorgeous 4 star read book from me. What an exciting plot, vivid storytelling and relatable, rich characters. I couldn't put this book down – absolutely loved it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5.
Really enjoyed this ARC - thank you Boldwood Books and Camilla Isley!
Here we meet Dorian and Josie, a rockstar and his PR employee. This was a sweet slow burn of a romance, I read it so quickly and loved the writing style so much. I enjoyed the text messages, the dialogue and I felt like there was a great balance between description and dialogue. This was a wholesome romance, there was some cheeky bits through out and it wasn’t overly smutty which I appreciated - also makes a difference from a lot of books on the market just now.
Also, can we please discuss the Cassian reference?!?! IYKYK…
Again, I really enjoyed this and would definitely read more of Camilla Isley’s books!

Love, love, love this book! While I would not want to personally get stuck in an elevator, what a perfect meet cute for Josie and Rian! These two get stuck in an elevator together for hours and Josie can't think of anyone else until she ends up as his pr rep months later. Sparks keep flying and the swoon never ends!
Isley's books never disappoint me. There is always great banter between the FMC and the MMC. I love the celebrity romance trope and Rian is what every girl wants when she imagines meeting a rock star. He comes across as a bad boy but he is such a sweetheart. You can't help but root for Josie as she crushes on Rian from the beginning. And that is what I love most about Isley's books. She writes characters that you cheer for and connect with.
Thanks to NetGalley and BoldWood Books for this advanced copy! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

You Rock my World - Camilla Isley
Rating: 3/5
Thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood books for providing this advanced reader copy. This is a fun romcom style rockstar romance story. I find Camilla Isley's writing style addictive, easy to read, fun and absurdly easy to binge read.
It centers around our FMC Josie a PR agent who is falling in love with her client Dorian, who is a world famous rockstar. This triggers a series of events dealing with the side effects of being with a celebrity.
This is exactly what I'm looking for from a contemporary romance story. It's a ton of fun and a perfect palette cleanser after reading in depth fantasy novels.
Having read other Camilla Isley books (see the Roommate Experiment post) this one wasn't my favourite. Being a rockstar romance it's hard to sympathise with the main characters issues surrounding fame. This makes it feel less realistic and harder to connect with as a reader. Despite this I think both the MMC and FMC were enjoyable and engaging. I particularly loved the side character of Lily and Penny as they took a slightly unrealistic plot with our love interests and grounded the story.
I liked how addiction and toxic relationships was explored to add depth to the characters and add trauma and drama into the relationship. I loved the supportive relationship between Josie and Dorian. I especially adored his golden retriever style personality as it's not expected from a rockstar.

Firstly, thank you to Boldwood Books for the advanced reader copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Camilla Isley did not disappoint with this book. As one of my favourite ever authors I always go in with such high expectations and this delivered. Josie & Dorian's whole back story was great and I love how out of the ordinary it was. The dual timeline at the start of the book was easy to follow and really gave the whole book context. I adored Josie's connection with her family and how her sister Lily encouraged her. I think Josie walking away from her job was iconic because she could have easily just gone back to the firm and carried on after they wanted her back but she didn't. I am also glad that the storyline with Billie was cut off and no major drama for Josie came from it. Ireally loved this whole story and how it came together, and I am so so pleased to read in the author's note that Lily's story is to follow. I do hope we see more of Josie and Dorian going forward!

This author is new to me and Im so glad that I was given the opportunity to read a advanced copy of this book.
It was a great book, with the main characters of Josie and Dorian who meet by accident and get stuck in a lift. Dorian is instantly struck by Josie and she by him, but he is married and they decide the timing is wrong.
One year later Josie is drawn back into Dorian orbit through his actions and their relationship begins again. The book is a slow burn, but still action packed with a lot of emotions and tight paced story telling.
I throughly enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Billionaire romance, celebrity romance, forbidden romance - all the tropes I love. This was such a fun read. I especially enjoyed the sassy banter and the slow burn. Loved it.
I got the ARC from Boldwood Books via Netgalley. All opinions expressed are mine

Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC!
3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 on Goodreads
I really liked this book—it was fast-paced despite the slow burn, which made it a super quick and fun read! The characters were adorable together, and Josie (the FMC) was great, but the real star of the show was Dorian (the MMC). I just love when the man is a complete simp and would do absolutely anything for the woman he loves.
There is a bit of ex drama, though—his ex-wife struggles with addiction and makes some pretty questionable choices that impact everyone. But overall, it’s a cute and swoony story!
Read if you enjoy:
• instalove
• rockstar x PR manager dynamic
• yearning
• sassy heroine
• he falls HARDER
A fun time overall!!

I was not ready for how much I could love this book but I should have known since I’ve loved everything book by this author so far but this one might take the cake! Both main characters are completely adorable and the story is just so romantic.. I don’t normally like the celebrity falls for a normal girl trope but I might it just a little more thanks to Camilla Isley.

Another great story from one of my favourite authors. Based around a rock star this time. This story was a tantalising, slow burn, with two sassy, fun main characters who were just good people who you can’t help but want them to find happiness. Highly recommend this book it builds up the heat gradually throughout.
I’m also looking forward to the next book which follows Josie’s sister Lily, I hope she finds happiness

I am a huge fan of author Camilla Isley and every book written by her is automatically on my TBR. I have loved all her books so far but this book is definitely one of my favorite ones. Both main characters are complete sweethearts and the story is just sooo romantic - who doesn‘t love the celebrity-falls-for-a-normal-girl-trope? I completely enjoyed reading this book and I especially liked that there was no real third-act-break-up.
Really one of my favorite romances this year!

3.75 🌟
This was such a fast and fun rockstar read. The chemistry and vibes between Josie and Dorian was sexy and wholesome all in the same breath. I loved their meet cute and the journey they went through to allowing themselves to fall in love. 💕

Good story about Dorian, a rock star, falling for his PR rep Josie. They had a meet cute in an elevator and more than a year later, Josie is filling in for PR while her peer is on maternity leave. Dorian is freshly divorced from his celeb wife. This is a torturous slow burn/forbidden love given the work dynamics. I don’t know if Dorian is my favorite mmc as he’s got anger issues and baggage. There are a couple of non-spicy open door scenes that are easy to skip. Solid story, but would be library rental for me.
Thank you, Boldwood Books, for providing this book for review consideration through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

I am a self-admitted book worm, and I have been the majority of my life. The genre that I can never get enough of is romance. Although my preferred genre is romantic suspense books, at my core I am still a fan of traditional romance. I also enjoy books where the setting is the music industry. Because of this, I was extremely excited to get a chance read this book.
After I read Camilla’s previous book “The Roommate Experiment,” not only did I read the first books in that series, but I also read the some of her other works. As this book is centered on completely new characters (I think), I didn’t know what to expect with this one. I have to admit that the plot description definitely is one that piqued my interest. This book definitely blew away any expectations that I had. I was hooked before I had even gotten through the first chapter due to how much I absolutely loved the backstory of the main characters.
I loved this book so much that I am super sad that I am done reading it. I typically dislike “slow burn” books; however, I think that Camilla one of those authors that does it in such a way that you don’t feel “slighted.” I cannot wait to read what is next from her!
**I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**

I am a huge fan of Camilla Isley and was very pleased when I was offered a chance to read an advanced copy of You Rock My World. Fantastic bright cover!
You Rock My World is such a fun read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Full of laugh out loud moments, great characters and just the most brilliant and clever storyline! The pacing was perfect and the ending was ... very hot!
It all starts when the two main characters Josie and Dorian (Rian Phoenix), get stuck in a lift. Josie works in PR and Dorian is a world renowned rock star. Although Josie knew exactly who Dorian was when the lift got stuck, she tried to keep her cool at first and pretend that they were just two normal people stuck in a lift (as you do!) ... which turned out to be for many hours before they were rescued! But in that time, you started to see their true authentic self and there was so many hilarious moments during this time. Just the most brilliant writing.
Josie was just the most warm and radiant character. I absolutely loved her. So very down to earth, would say exactly what she felt without thinking (some of her lines were so funny!) and does not hide away from who she is and her roots. She is very family orientated, particularly to her Mum, sister Lily and niece Penny. I loved the relationship between Josie and Penny - adorable.
In the book we alternate between now and a year later - this is when Josie is assigned Dorian in her work to be his PR manager. This was such an ingenious angle to take the story and I absolutely flew through the book as I was so invested in Josie and Dorian and where their story was going to go. The connection was so clear to see from the very start, their spark undeniable, but Josie did her very best to remain professional, as she was told by her Boss in no uncertain terms, she was not to have any sort of relationship with her clients. Up until now, this was never a problem. That is, until now! Josie was head over heels in love, (as was Dorian) but tried her very best to stay professional. Easier said than done, especially when you worship the ground he walks on!
I loved watching Josie and Dorian's relationship develop. But just like lifts and life, their relationship had its ups and downs. But I was rooting for them to push through and make it work. They were lost without each other and it showed through and through on every page, how much they were meant to be together. Just like in music, so many elements are intertwined and you cannot have Josie without Dorian! They are the perfect match!
I was laughing so much throughout the book and the moustache scene - so sweet what Dorian did to help Josie! And Dorian always remembered things, like what they ate a year ago in the lift. They learnt so much about each other during being stuck in a lift, that in normal circumstances you may not have found this out for weeks or months. At what point in your relationship, did you empty your bag all over the floor, to seek out anything edible!? I also loved how Dorian encouraged Josie to pursue her writing career, as her talent was so clear to see.
Due to Billie, the most jealous and interfering ex wife ever, their relationship did not go smoothly. However, despite everything that she did, I was very pleased that she went to get the help she needed. It was very important that the book showed that being in a relationship with a rockstar was not all plain sailing and we were shown the other side, from the invasion of the media and the adoring fans and also how he comes with an entourage, so is rarely alone - thankfully his team did go on holiday! They may have gone away for some sun, but Josie and Dorian made heat of their own!
Josie and Dorian were each other anchors, and together they rocked each other's world and I hope their future is full of love, music and marriage! It was clear to see from the start that they were made for each other.
I am very much looking forward to Camilla Isley and reading Josie's sisters story, Lily.
Thank you very much Boldwood Books for my advanced copy. This review is based on a NetGalley ARC provided in exchange for an honest and unbiased opinion.

"You rock my world" is the perfect book for the insta-love/once-in-a-lifetime romance lovers, unfortunately.. I'm not one of them.
Dorian and Josie fall in love one night while they're trapped in a malfunctioning elevator for 10 hours. He's a famous rockstar trapped in a toxic marriage, while she works for the same PR agency that manages him but in the tech division. Nothing romantic happens that night but the secrets they shared and even their moments of silence tell them that they may have found their soulmate. They were rescued and said goodbye but they couldn't stop thinking about the other one for a whole year. When they meet next, Dorian is divorced and he wants Josie to be his new PR agent.
The writing is witty, funny and easy to read. There are no dull moments and I loved reading both the passionate and cute scenes. I loved that they're truly in love with each other and they want to wait to get to know each other better because they're adults who fell in love unexpectedly.
However!! Their meeting and their love story is as romantic as it is unlikely to happen in real life. This is probably the main reason why I didn't like this book as much as the last one I read by Camilla Isley "The Roommate Experiment".
"You rock my world" is heavily focused on the romance side and not so much on the characters' dreams, family/friends relationships and life struggles. I'd love to know more about Dorian's creative process, his family and his friends both from the music industry and his everyday life. As for Josie, I'd love to read more about her work duties, her dreams and her personality. I know everything about them when it comes to romance, but way less when I want to understand them as human beings. And I get that this is expected 'cause it's a romance book but nevertheless I wanted to get a more profound understanding of these characters.
To sum it up, "You rock my world" is the perfect book for those who love a once in a lifetime, dreamy, unreachable romance, filled with tension and funny moments, perfect to read during these summer days.
Thank you Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the arc!

Book Review: Camilla Isley’s You Rock My World
Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for my gifted ARC.
You Rock My World is the kind of romance that sneaks up on you. It starts with a classic setup—a woman and a rockstar trapped in an elevator—and you think, “Okay, I’ve seen this before.” But then Camilla Isley does what she does best: she digs deeper. What could’ve been a cute meet-cute turns into ten hours of real connection, real tension, and real longing. I was completely invested by the time those elevator doors opened… and completely wrecked when Josie walked away.
This is not a hookup story. This is a slow burn—agonizingly slow at times—and it works because the chemistry between Josie and Rian (stage name Dorian Phoenix) is so undeniable, so charged, it actually hurts. That ache of wanting, the impossibility of timing, the weight of responsibilities and past wounds—it’s all there, layered into every glance, every misstep, every almost-kiss. It’s the kind of book that keeps your stomach in knots and your heart in your throat.
Josie is a strong, smart heroine. She’s sharp with her humor, good at her job, and constantly trying to stay in control of her emotions while the world spins faster around her. She’s not perfect—sometimes she avoids hard conversations or buries her feelings—but that just makes her more relatable. And Rian? He’s not the stereotypical bad-boy rockstar. He’s thoughtful, wounded, and trying his best to protect both his heart and his reputation. I loved that he wasn’t just hot and charming—though he’s definitely that too. He’s also kind. Steady. Even a little lonely. You feel his yearning for something more.
The structure of the book flips between dual POV and dual timelines, and I’ll admit I was skeptical at first. But it absolutely works. Seeing the story unfold from both Josie’s and Rian’s perspectives, both in the past (elevator) and present (PR nightmare), adds so much emotional depth. It’s like watching two versions of the same heartbreak unfold, knowing the stakes and screaming at them to just be honest with each other already. It also keeps the pacing tight—even with a slow-burn romance, there’s always forward momentum.
Isley’s writing is clean, witty, and packed with emotional nuance. She knows how to land a joke and how to twist the knife—often in the same paragraph. And while this story is heavy on emotional tension, it’s still fun. The banter sparkles. Josie’s inner monologue is hilarious. And their physical tension? Off the charts. The best part? None of it feels rushed or forced. It builds, slowly, painfully, beautifully, until the payoff finally comes—and when it does, it’s earned.
“I didn’t forget you.”
That line just destroyed me. So simple, but it says everything. All that yearning, all that waiting, all that hope—it’s in those four words. And that’s what You Rock My World does best: it captures the ache of falling for someone when it’s the wrong time, the wrong place, the wrong everything… except the feelings.
If I could nitpick, I would say I wanted a bit more from the ending. After everything Josie and Rian go through, I would’ve loved an extended resolution or epilogue—just something to savor their happy ending a bit more. But even without that, their final scenes still land.
I also appreciated how the book didn’t shy away from the messier parts of fame, like public perception, invasive media, and how PR plays a role in personal relationships. It added realism and stakes without bogging down the romance. Plus, the side characters—especially Lily and Penny—were well-drawn and memorable. I’m genuinely excited to read Lily’s story next (and yes, I’m hoping it’s Nick).
Bottom line? This book gave me exactly what I was craving: angst, tension, emotional payoff, and characters I didn’t want to let go of. It reminded me why I love romance. Not just for the swoon or the steam (though there’s plenty of both), but for the deep, slow unfolding of love between two people who truly see each other. You Rock My World is about timing, trust, and taking the leap—even when it might cost you everything.
If you love slow-burn, forbidden workplace romances with a rockstar twist and a ton of emotional payoff, don’t miss this one.
