Another delightful dog story from Esme Shapiro! Prince Ruthie is a charmingly earnest young pup with a (fabulously dressed) doting owner. His days are filled with pancakes, naps and all the attention he could ever need from his Queen, yet he yearns to experience life outside the walls of his castle. Ruthie gets a shock when he leaves his garden, realizing that the world doesn't actually revolve around him after all. But he also learns that friends are nicer to have than royal subjects.
Gorgeous illustrations as always, and a fun little cameo from Ooko! Can't wait for this to hit the shelves

Esme Shapiro is a master at spellbinding stories with whimsical pictures to match. Ruthie is a prince in want of an adventure, but when he finds one, it's all a bit too much. As with most things in life, friendship is the answer. I was charmed and enchanted by this tale and I hope everyone finds a friend like Ruthie and his queen. And owl.

Another win from Esme Shapiro !! My coworkers and I have been obsessed with Roy ever since release and this one I'm sure will be another hit. Ruthie is a pampered prince of his castle who decides to venture out into the world and see what his subjects are really up to. Are they building monuments to his silky hair, or planning parades in his honour? One way to find out!
Love the irreverent, hilarious art (even without the fantastic text/dialogue with Ruthie and his subjects), Ooko's cameo, and the classic friendship storyline that ties it all up in a bow. I'll be handselling this for sure!
