This one’s pure psychological chaos. Eva’s life flips when she’s hired to plan a wedding only to discover the groom is her supposedly dead husband.

Eva was left devastated when her husband died leaving her with their young son. After a few years she meets Zach and the three of them begin a new life in a beautiful village by the sea.

Eva is a wedding planner and you can only imagine the horror as she meets a new couple and the groom to be looks exactly like her dead husband Hugo.

I read this book in one day, what a page turner this is. I didn't know who to believe or what to believe. It's an amazing read.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. After previously reading ‘the next girl’ and rating it a 5 star I couldn’t wait to get stuck into this book.

‘5 years ago I buried my husband. Today I saw him with his new wife’

This book kept me engaged and I was constantly trying to figure out WHO and HOW and WHY. For some reason the book made you dislike every male, constantly pointing the fingers at them. I loved the plot. My only negative point was that it flicked from first person when it was Eva’s chapters but third when it was the other characters.

My Husband’s Wife had me in a chokehold from the very first page. The writing had me hooked the entire way through. There wasn’t a single slow part. I loved the multiple POVs, and the characters were written in such a way that it was easy to empathize with them. I especially enjoyed how the side stories all wove together, making the overall plot feel layered and complete.

This was suspenseful from start to finish, with twists sprinkled throughout that genuinely kept me on my toes. The only part that didn’t sit as well with me was the portrayal of PPD, though I understood how it tied into Hugo’s manipulations. Overall, this was a fantastic thriller that I’m so glad I got to read early. If you love thrillers that keep you hooked from the beginning and refuse to let go, this one is a must-read!

Thank you Bookouture and Carla Kovach for the copy of My Husband’s Wife.

This is the first book I’ve read by Carla and while the writing style was easy enough to follow, I struggled with hinting at past secrets not being revealed right away.

This was an ok book but I found it repetitive at parts and rather predictable. It centers primarily on Eva, who has moved on with her new husband Zach after the death of her previous husband Hugo. They move to a new area for a change of pace when she meets a man that she thinks is Hugo through her job as a wedding planner. We learn that she has had some issues in the past and is also going through some stuff in her current marriage so it’s unclear if she is a reliable narrator. We also get chapters told from the POV of Madison, who is scheduled to marry the man who may or may not be Hugo.

I love a story with an unreliable narrator and you get that with Eva. I wanted to like her but I do feel at times she made unwise decisions and pushed away people who were trying to help her. Madison, too, took risks that didn’t always make the most sense, and both women missed clear signs that some things were amiss in their personal lives. I thought the story was a bit repetitive because we read about what is happening from Eva’s POV first and then the book goes through the same things from Madison’s POV. While we did find out some more about Madison in the later chapters, I didn’t need the rehash of what I had already read. I figured out the major twist in the book pretty early but there were other twists that were more surprising. I thought the end of the book tied up loose ends nicely and was overall satisfied with it.

Overall, decent read but not my absolute favorite. It was a quick read for me and I think it will go over well with those who enjoy psychological thrillers. Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an early copy of My Husband’s Wife. Best Cover Ever!!!! Very obvious Zach and Nicole know each other, the question is how? Very fast and interesting story. I have to be honest though the ending was very convoluted and I was confused. Too much was explained with the three women’s stories and it was making my head spin. Otherwise a very good read.

Imagine you are a wedding planner meeting with a couple to help them plan their dream wedding, and the man who shows up looks exactly like your deceased husband.

That's right; even Eva can hardly believe it.

Years after her husband's death, Eva thinks she and her son have finally found happiness with her new husband, Zach. They are excited about starting fresh in a new house in a charming town, and she is eager to begin a new job.

Eva swears the man who shows up in her office holding a baby and planning his wedding is her dead husband. But how is it possible? She saw them drag his body from the car.

Eva tries to convince herself that she is imagining things, but deep down, she knows that she's seeing her late husband. Determined to uncover the truth, Eva embarks on a complex quest that could lead her down a rabbit hole of lies, deception and danger.

Kovach does an excellent job of transforming what could be a predictable storyline into a twisty, unpredictable, and exciting read. The story culminates in a very satisfying ending that resolves all loose ends.

I highly recommend it.

Eva moves to Coombe Martin with her new husband. She is sure she sees her dead husband with his soon to be wife. We follow her as she searches to find out if it is her husband or if it is just someone who looks like him. The story is told from Eva's viewpoint and then Madisons, the soon to be wife. A compelling story, it is full of intrigue and danger as the ladies search for the truth. The characters are very human with the same neuroses as all of us have. Well written and exciting I would recommend this book to all psychological thriller lovers. With thanks to the author, Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this book.

I don't know what or how to feel with this book. I did not love it, but I did not hate it either . The reasoning behind everything was surprisingly simple, which was the opposite of what I had expected (in a good way). I thought I knew exactly how the story would unfold, only to be caught off guard by an unexpected twist. That originality worked well and left an impression. But the path to that reveal often felt needlessly complicated. Some chapters dragged with repetition, and the pacing made it difficult to stay engaged. While the concept itself was intriguing, the execution did not always deliver.

I also found it hard to connect with the characters. None of them stood out as likable or relatable, and most of the women in the story, were portrayed as weak, insecure, or detached.

In the end, the book had a unique premise and an interesting twist, but uneven pacing, underdeveloped characters, and a lack of sharp execution that make it from fully working for me.

A. Plot
⭐⭐⭐⭐: Well-constructed, with clever clues and minimal plot holes.

B. Twist
⭐⭐⭐⭐: Satisfying and mostly unpredictable.

C. Characters
⭐⭐: Present but either forced or unconvincing.

D. Pacing
⭐: Drags excessively or rushes critical moments.

E. Writing Style
⭐: Confusing, unpolished, or overly simplistic.

F. Emotional Impact
⭐⭐⭐: Holds your interest but doesn’t leave a strong impression.

Ok, I loved this one.
Although the story feels at first eerily similar to many others, it has some twists that make it stand out and be different in the end. And, yes, loved it how it sucks you in instantly – you just know you have to keep reading.
And the ending? I think that was my absolute favorite part. I love stories of found family, but found family and found sisterhood of sorts just takes it all to the next level.

Five years after the death of her husband, Eva and her son are finally moving on. Eva has remarried Zach and they have moved to her dream place.

As she is starting her new job as a wedding planner in the new city, she meets a couple Theo and Madison. Problem, Theo looks identical to her dead husband, Hugo.

This story keeps you guessing, as we find out that Eva's memories may not be as reliable as we hope. Plus, Eva has a secret she thought died with her husband.

I kept trying to guess and untwist the twists but in the end, I did not have it.

Thank you Netgalley, Carla Kovach and Bookouture Audio for the advanced copy of My Husband's Wife. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and having read the synopsis, I felt this would be right up my street, and it didn’t disappoint!

This story starts with Eva moving to the coast with her new husband Zach and her son Caiden and starting a new job as a wedding planner in a local hotel. On her first day she comes across Madison and her husband to be Theo, who looks the spit of her dead husband Hugo!

It was full of mystery surrounding who Theo really is and I loved the suspense of is he/isn’t he.

The chapters are told through Eva and Madison and I absolutely loved reading both sides of the same situation and finding out a bit more about these two very different but in some ways similar women.

I found this a very easy read, that kept me engaged throughout. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I guessed some of the twists but this didn’t take away from the enjoyment of the book. I wasn’t sure about the ending, it wasn’t the worst I’ve read, but it wasn’t the best either, which is why I’ve given it 4, rather than 5 stars. I would recommend this book to thriller readers who like mystery, short chapters and multiple points of view.

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with an advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I started reading this and then put it down and started reading something else and never really went back. That in itself I think is its own form of review. I'm sure if I would have pushed through I would have found out if she was going through a psychotic break or if everyone was lying to her but I didn't want to pick it up again enough to find out. I might skip to the end and read the results. I think she lost me when she was both convinced her ex husband was alive and well, and when her current husband seemed to be super shady and possibly cheating on her with her new friend. The possible ex husband and his new wife moved to Scotland and she's hung up on that and I found myself thinking "okay. Clearly they want to avoid you so mayyyyybbeeee you should go focus on your current marriage? Especially since your Mother seems to think he's with you for the $$???" I understand that's not how obsessive thoughts work but at that moment I found myself #TeamMom thinking "well honey, maybe you need a nice mental health stay again because for all you keep telling her you're fine, you are not, in fact, fine."

What would you do if the husband you buried five years ago walked back into your life… with a new wife and baby? From that moment, this book had me in a chokehold.

💔 The Hook:
Instant anxiety. Instant obsession. Eva’s calm surface cracks the second she sees him alive. Wedding planner mode on the outside, chaos brewing inside. My jaw? Still on the floor.

👭 Characters & Vibes:
Eva is messy, raw, and so easy to root for—you feel her paranoia, her suspicion, her quiet fury simmering under the surface. Theo? Manipulative, charming, dangerous. The kind of character that makes you love hating him. And Madison’s POV keeps you second-guessing everything you thought you knew.

🌀 The Ride:
Every chapter is a mind game. Lies pile up, paranoia creeps in, and just when you think you’ve solved it—bam, another twist. The writing is sharp, the tension relentless, and the atmosphere absolutely chilling.

🔥 Final Scoop:
Dark, twisty, and addictive—this thriller makes you question everything and trust no one. I devoured it in one sitting, and the ending still has me reeling.

Thanks NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

I really hoped to enjoy this but didn't. The one good thing about it was that it kept me turning the page.

Character backstories, motives, and major twists and turns barely got a paragraph. Instead, there were pages and pages of a character leaving one place to go to another, specifics of how they drove the car and how they parked, whether they let the dog out, and details about each time the baby was breastfed - I suppose it was to keep the readers in a tensed, uneasy state, but the writing was too simplistic to pull it off.

In the first part of this story, Eva moves to Devon with her son and husband. She’s looking forward to moving on following the death of her first husband, Hugo. With a job ready for her at a hotel as a wedding organiser, she needs this move, to escape the past.

Eva gets the shock of her life when she meets Madison and Theo to arrange their wedding … Theo is her husband Hugo!

Is Eva losing her mind, seeing things that aren’t really there? After all, it wouldn’t be the first time that she’s struggled with her life.

The second part of the story follows Madison’s story. We learn when she met Theo and her life since being with him.

What an exciting and thrilling psychological thriller this is, the twists and turns came so thick and fast, I didn’t know if I was coming or going at times!

My heart went out to Eva, she was a troubled soul and quite easily led. Both Eva and her son have been through so much.

I found it hard to put this book down, but at the same time, I wanted to put it down to think about what I had read, as well as savouring the story.

If you enjoy a tale of manipulation, secrets and lies, the. I can highly recommend this book.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

I read My Husband's Wife and this is my honest, unbiased review.

I thought the premise of the storyline was great, with plenty of suspense and a few twists I didn’t see coming. However, I had a hard time getting into the story, and it took me much longer than usual to finish. I didn’t find myself rooting for either woman, and overall, I didn’t feel much connection to any of the characters in general. While there was enough suspense to keep me reading to the end, it didn’t have that “can’t-put-it-down” feeling that keeps me up past bedtime because I didn't really care either way for any of the characters.

Overall, I would rate this one 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Fast paced read. So fast paced, that I couldn't put it down until I finished it! Filled with manipulation, mind-twists, and tension...it's everything I love in a thriller read! The ending was well thought out and not one that I figured out before hand. I am calling this one the read of the Summer. Do not sleep on this one!

Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture, and Carla Kovach for the eArc.

My Husband‘s Wife by Carla Kovach, after the death of Eva‘s husband Hugo Eva struggled and just like in her past almost had a breakdown. When she started going to group for those in mourning she met Zach who lost his brother and they soon fall in love he’s even gotten really close to Eva son Kayden. this is why when the book starts they’re packing up to move to Combe Martin. this is where Eva will become the wedding planner at the Seahorse hotel and where to her knowledge the nightmare will begin. When a woman named Madison comes in with her fiancé Eva is shocked to see it is her husband Hugo although Madison calls him Theo. and except for a slight widening of his eyes shows no proof that he knows Eva. She’s also become friends with a woman name Nicole who Zach wants Eva to stop hanging around with. since moving to their new beachfront property Hugo’s appearance although thought dead isn’t the only thing she learns about one of her husbands that is shocking. She was supposed to have a second chance with Zack but does he have ulterior motives for being with her and why won’t anyone believe Theo is really Hugo? with most books I find really really good it is always hard to write a review and I have found that to be the case with this book. This book was so good and although yes we do have people coming back from the dead possibly and people who presumably are strangers seem to all be connected in one way or another this was still an awesome read I love thrillers with great twist and this book has twist on top of twist I think the author did a great job and this is a book I definitely recommend. if you love a good thriller then you shouldn’t miss my husband‘s wife it is so good. #NetGalley, #TheBlindReviewer, #MyHonestReview, #CarlaKovach, #MyHusband‘sWife,
