Five years ago wedding planner Madison's husband Hugo committed suicide. Now as she greets her latest clients, Madison and Theo, she is shocked to see that Theo is the exact double of her dead husband. But he can't still be alive as DNA results identified him in the wreckage of his burnt out car.
There were several moments during this book where I had to suspend belief, but all in all the plot worked well for me. I liked Ava’s character, although she took some chances in her quest to discover who Theo really was. Actions that ultimately lead her into danger. On occasions her behaviour bordered on obsessive, although the narrative showed how it connected with her own backstory, so I understood her behaviour. Having the benefit of Madison and Ava’s friend Nicole’s viewpoints gave a 360 degree view of what was going on and made the story more inrteresting .
Well written, fast paced, with a few surprises towards the end, I found My Husband’s Wife an all-round good entertaining read.
I would like to thank Bookouture, the author and Netgalley for an ARC of My Husband’s Wife in exchange for an honest review.

I was drawn to this book instantly when I read the title and saw this cover, which is why it must be a popular book title! After just a few pages I was hooked and drawn into this book, which was a huge blessing since I had been in a bit of a book funk. Sometimes a thriller is the perfect way to pull me out of a romance book slump, and this did just the trick! I was guessing how this book would go the entire time I read it and loved how unpredictable it was! I just purchased a copy for our library. I know so many others who will also devour this one. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read and review early.

This book hooked me right from the start. Imagine thinking you buried your husband five years ago, only to have him walk into your office with a new wife and baby and pretending you’re strangers. The tension was electric, the secrets ran deep, and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. If you love jaw-dropping twists like in The Housemaid, The Perfect Marriage, or Gone Girl, this one definitely delivers.

Complicated thriller, hard to follow all the threads at times. Didn't do enough to keep me engrossed tho there were plenty of twists.

Special thanks to the author, Bookouture and NetGalley for approving this ARC copy for me to read in exchange for my honest review.
Carla Kovach knows how to weave a story that keeps you on edge, and My Husband’s Wife is an excellent example of that. From the beginning, there’s a sense that nothing is quite as it seems—and the deeper you read, the more tangled things become.
The pacing is great. Short chapters, plenty of suspense, and a fair amount of red herrings (although the more, the better I think 😉). I really enjoyed how the tension builds, and then suddenly everything is unraveling, but it’s hard to figure out where the unraveling started or where it’s going to end. The twists were great! A few I saw coming, most I didn’t. I would’ve loved a bit more of a build up to the reveal at the end. Otherwise, I have no complaints.
If you’re looking for a dark and twisty domestic thriller with secrets and betrayal, My Husband’s Wife is sure to deliver.

Thank you to the author and netgalley for the arc! Omg this book was a wild ride! So many twists and thens! I never seen any of the twists coming! Hugo being a twin and not dead. All the murders. How Hugo had all these different lives with these women and how crazy he was! I loved the ending of the book and how all the women came together with all of the kids! Definitely a 5 star read!

MY HUSBANDS WIFE BY CARLA KOVACH
Release date set for the 8th of September 2025.
The cover alone made me want to read this book.
Unbelievable twists that u don't see coming.
It's told in multiple POVS and easy to follow along.
Great book and great storyline.
This is my first book by Carla and it won't be the last

This book was really good.
It was pretty predictable overall but still a great read.
Those poor women having to deal with that man who is completely psychotic.
I really think Nicole is somewhat psycho too. Playing games like that. And poor Eva. Having to go through all she did and her family, mainly mom, thinking she was losing it.
I really do like that she stayed in the end and all the kids will know each other. Hopefully she ends up with her husband and they are happy. She deserves that.
Overall a good quick read.
Thank you NetGalley for the copy

I'd never read anything by Carla Kovach before but the description of the book had me intrigued as to what Eva would do to the "dead husband" and new wife. Maybe due to recently reading a few Lisa Jackson novels, Paula Hawkin's "The Girl on the Train", Liv Constantine's "The Last Mrs. Parrish" (as well as it's sequel) and Jennifer Lynn Barnes "Glorious Rivals", My Husband's Wife felt tame. There were few moments of "oh my gosh, what's going to happen" and the story felt very linear even after switching character points of view. I was never on the edge of my seat or shocked by the "twists" and had predicted them way before they happened. Often with psychological trillers, there's a "bad" or "unhinged" character. The way the description is written with the "But only I know what I’m going to do next…", it would come across as Eva but that's not the case so felt a bit misleading as well.
It's grammatical and has a quick tie up of loose ends so I'm giving it a 3. Not a book I'd rave about or an author I'm planning to follow though. I guess more like a 2.5 but rounded up?

I read a lot of thrillers, so I was able to predict some of what was coming. However, there were still moments that completely threw me off in the best way! The premise had me hooked from the start: a woman planning a wedding for the man she believed had died five years ago.
I loved how the story unfolded through different perspectives. It added a layer of complexity that kept me engaged and second-guessing the truth. The tension between the characters was incredible; every interaction felt charged and uneasy, and I found myself feeling anxious right along with Eva. That sense of knowing something was off but not being able to logically explain why was captured perfectly.
Eva was one of my favorite characters because she just knew. Her intuition made her feel relatable and strong, and I loved following her through this twisty, suspenseful journey.
Thank you to Bookouture and the author for the ARC in exchange for my honest review! If you enjoy psychological thrillers with great tension, layered characters, and some unpredictable turns, this is worth a read.

My husband’s wife is the new book from Carla Kovach. I have read all the authors books. So, I was looking forward to reading this one.
Five years ago, Eva’s husband Hugo committed suicide leaving her to bring up their son Caiden. Years later Eva is a wedding planner and has remarried to Zach. Zach as brought up Caiden as his own.
So, when Eva get new clients, she first meets Madison, and she introduces her to her husband to be Theo. Who has a very strong resemblance to her dead husband Hugo. Is it truly him or her mind playing tricks with her. She investigates to find out the truth and if it is him, why did her leave her and their son.
Thank you Netgalley and Bookoutre for a copy of My husband’s wife. I really enjoy the author’s work. And I enjoyed the premise of this story. But I felt a bit overwhelmed with so much going on and going back and forth between Eva and Madison that I struggled to keep track with everything. 3 stars from me.

I was really excited to read this book based on the description. It definitely had me guessing but I did feel some parts dragged on.
Thanks to NetGallery for this Arc

Wow this was an amazing read. This is 1000% what a psychological thriller should be and was one of my favorite reads this year. It was such a page turner that I was avoiding sleep just to read more and more. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Most times you can figure out the endings in psychological thrillers but definitely not in this one. There was so many twists that were shocking. The plot was great and it was well written. I really enjoyed the characters and I liked how the narrators in the book changed and you got the different point of views. I kept thinking throughout that maybe I knew but was clearly wrong and kept thinking other possibilities. I thought I was going crazy with Eva and Madison trying to figure things out 😂 I absolutely loved this book and it is a must read for those who enjoy psychological thrillers.

HELLO??? I just finished this and my brain is SCREAMING. Like. Imagine burying your husband and then five years later he walks in… with a baby… and a new wife… and acts like he doesn’t know you?? The DRAMA. The BETRAYAL. The absolute chaos of it all.
I read this in one sitting because I had to know what Eva would do next and every chapter just got wilder. Secrets, lies, messy emotions—it’s exactly the kind of unhinged thriller energy I love.
Was it realistic? Probably not. Did I care? Absolutely not. I devoured it and I regret NOTHING.

This ARC was provided as an early read by Net Galley so thank you to them and Carla Kovach!
Unpredictable was truly an understatement for this read and my pages couldn’t turn fast enough! Although thrillers are not my typical read, I tend to find them a bit predictable, this one really had me guessing from start to finish how it was going to end. However, nothing could have led me to the outcome we received and I was pleasantly surprised.
Some parts of the book did feel a bit choppy and I had to reread just to make sure I was keeping my characters and storylines accurate but after completing it, everything came together and made perfect sense. This was a great read and gave Frieda McFadden vibes with a little less suspense and scare factor that hers can tend to have. Would absolutely recommend and will be reading more by the author.

This took me until about 20% to be able to get into the story; the dialogue between the characters seemed forced and awkward. Once I adjusted to the writing style my reading experience improved.
Unfortunately, Eva and Madison’s personalities seemed interchangeable by the time we got Madison’s of view.
While all stories with a subject like this require some degree of suspension of belief; the choices certain characters made (especially regarding where they chose to live) made absolutely no sense. (It’s hard to elaborate further on these “choices” without providing spoilers.)
It was a quick enough, easy read that kept me engrossed enough to want to finish it; however, I did find it to be predictable.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Title is a bit misleading considering the fact the “wife” part is more like fiancé but I digress…
This book pacing was a chore and made me feel frustrated at the characters seeing all the clues and red flags then straight up ignoring and disregard them? Seriously, the man kept taking off his glasses and nobody bat an eyelash?!? Or notice that the man is wearing color contacts. Then we get to the end and it’s just plot twist after plot twist as the knots get undone one by one and we randomly get oh btw all the kids are half siblings fyi lol like what-. I was not entirely a fan of this book, did some moments get me yes but I was not entirely hooked to the story.
Thanks again to the publishers and Netgalley for the opportunity for to give a honest review of this book.

Another great book from Carla Kovach! Definitely becoming a must read author for me! This was a great book and the storyline was very interesting. I enjoyed the characters and the multiple points of view made it even more engrossing. I do enjoy books with short chapters so this was perfect. I felt bad for Eva throughout the book- and the ending - not what I was expecting AT ALL. At times it seemed a little far fetched- still a very enjoyable book. It held my interest from beginning until the very end! Thank you to NetGalley, Carla Kovach and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this ARC. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5
My Husband’s Wife by Carla Kovach was a good story overall, but it leaned a little too far into the unbelievable at times. While the premise kept me interested, the ending felt more like a quick attempt to tie up loose ends rather than a satisfying conclusion. Even the supposed cliffhanger came across as forced rather than impactful. It wasn’t a bad read, just nothing that particularly stands out in such a crowded genre.

This mystery pulled me in with its layered storytelling and unpredictable twists. I found it gripping as I followed Helgi uncovering the strange secrets of the past.
