Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts.
My Husband’s Wife is a twisty psychological thriller told through multiple POVs, and it wastes no time pulling you in. We meet Eva, newly married and starting fresh in a new town with her son, when she stumbles across a groom-to-be who looks exactly like her late husband. From there, the secrets and lies begin to unravel, and it’s impossible to look away.
The writing is descriptive and emotional, and the short chapters kept me flying through the pages. I especially appreciated how the author wove in themes of postpartum psychosis and depression, something I haven’t seen handled in many thrillers. While some of the connections between characters felt a little too neat, I was still gripped until the very last page.
A fast, dramatic read for anyone who loves messy characters, big secrets, and plenty of tension.

This book has what I thought were 2 parallel storylines, intertwined, actually turns out to be 3. It is told from 3 POV which made it interesting.
I spent many chapters trying to second guess how the characters were linked. The author kinds of drip feeds titbits along the way but even then, you’re wondering if this really happened or is the character’s imagination running wild? You don’t truly know the truth until very late on in the book.
I really enjoyed the start and middle and I was desperate to know how it unfolded, more so than the ending which is a shame.
Still, an enjoyable read. Difficult to rate but I’ve settled on 3.5 ⭐️ because I didn’t love the ending.
Many thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley UK for the ARC.

I love books that have a shocking death but they're not actually dead but this book just did not deliever with that. I was left feeling more confused, and saw all the twists coming.

The main character Eva had just started her life over, with a fresh move, new husband, and cute son in tow. Her world gets turned upside down when she is at her job as a wedding planner, and the husband of the couple that comes in is her ex-husband - who she swore was dead and buried. I enjoyed the POV switch from Eva to Madison, her ex-husband's soon to be new wife. I figured out one of the plot twists early on, but I still enjoyed getting to the reveal and there were a few other plot twists that surprised me. I felt for Eva, as she begins to question her sanity as does everyone around her. At some point, you don't even know which characters to trust, and suspicion was constantly cast around. If you are a fan of domestic thrillers, this is a must read.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publishers for providing me with an eARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.
'My Husband's Wife' is a psychological thriller which is structured as a multi POV story that unravels the storyline from the perspectives of different characters. It initially follows our main character, Eva, as she is about to move to a new town with her new husband, Zach, and her son, Caiden.
We are immediately made aware of tragic events that have occurred in her past which have led Eva to her current position in life.
In her new town, she is employed as a wedding planner and one of the first couples she is due to plan a wedding for is a woman called Madison and her husband to be Theo- who is the spitting image of Eva's late husband Hugo. What ensues is Eva doing everything she can to uncover the mystery around who Theo is and the secrets that all our characters have been keeping from each other.
Without giving away any spoilers, the story was definitely a gripping read- the descriptive and emotive writing paired with short chapters made it really easy to get through the book as you are really eager to find out what happens next.
The downfall to this novel for me however, is that while it was an intriguing storyline, everything worked out slightly too conveniently- as we discover that many of our characters are interconnected- but we are still left with questions and mysteries by the end of it all.
I did really enjoy the author's use of postpartum psychosis/depression, and pregnancy in general, as a focal theme in the novel- I have definitely not seen that in any other books I've read.
I would definitely recommend this to people who love a quick read, with manipulative characters, many mysteries and secrets, that is mostly concluded by the end!

The premise for this book was brilliant and hooked me in straight away. It’s a fast paced thriller that kept me guessing, although I did feel the ending was a little predictable as the story progressed. On the whole an easy, quick read that I’m sure fans of Frieda McFadden will love!

If you love Frieda McFadden, Jeneva Rose, Greer Hendricks, Liz Constantine, you will LOVE this! I tore through this. It took me maybe 5 hours to finish. Something about domestic psychological thrillers all seem the same, and that is not a knock on this author or book, it’s just a fact. It does not make them actually the same, or any less good. This book actually took several unique turns once you get beyond the crazy husband crazy wife plot. There was a point where I actually considered the big twist but I was so engrossed in the story I wasn’t even trying to guess, I was just trying to get to the end so the author could tell me wtf was going on. This really did keep me guessing the actual entire time. Some books take forever to get to the meat of the plot, this did not. We hit the ground running and did not let up. I really enjoyed this, it’s a twisty quick read!

Will be published on Goodreads the week of publication. Will be posted on my website on September 1st

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.
Eva has had a traumatic time. After having a breakdown, she then lost her husband. Now remarried she moves to a new town. In her new job as a wedding planner, her first couple Madison and Theo are familiar. She is convinced that the groom to be is her dead husband. She also has the fear that her new friend is after her new husband!
This was one hell of a suspense thriller. Told from the point of view of Eva initially then switching to Madison’s story then back to Eva, we get a clear picture of the back story and relationships of both woman. The clues were revealed slowly with plenty twists and turns to keep us guessing throughout. I looked forward to reading this after work as it was an addictive story. Highly recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
From the very first chapter, My Husband’s Wife had me completely hooked – I devoured this book in one sitting because I simply couldn’t put it down.
We meet Eva, a wedding planner rebuilding her life after the devastating loss of her husband. She’s finally moving forward when a new client walks in … and Eva recognises the groom-to-be as the husband she buried years ago. From that moment, I couldn’t tear my eyes from the page.
The dual perspectives of Eva and Maddison were brilliantly executed. Seeing each situation through their eyes kept the story tense and unpredictable, and I found myself constantly questioning who was hiding the truth and who could actually be trusted. The shifting dynamics made me doubt almost every character at some point, which I loved.
Carla Kovach has crafted a thriller full of sharp twists, simmering tension, and emotional pull. I especially enjoyed how seamlessly the suspense was balanced with the character depth – it made the reveals hit even harder.
Compelling, addictive, and utterly engaging – I devoured this book in one sitting and loved every page. A standout psychological thriller that will keep readers on edge until the very last twist.
Huge thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the early access.

First, thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC!
This is surely not the first story I've read with a husband suddenly reappearing from the dead. But as always, I don't care much as long as i enjoy reading it.
In this particular story, we do have Eva, who works as a wedding planner for Madison She meets and Theo - and is on the spot convinced he's the man she buried 5 years ago. Who is soon will be a husband again. And is already apparently a father, as well...
That was surely a wild Rollercoaster ride with many twists and turns. The author is new to me, as far as I'm aware, but she'll surely be on my radar from now on! Very well done!

I really wanted to enjoy this but.. I did not. The idea seemed interesting but it was drawn out and anticlimactic. Sadly, there were multiple times I looked down to see if I was almost done but no, the book went on and on. It was just too over descriptive but on odd things. Like background sounds or scenery so the actual plot was lacking.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! Carla Kovach has done a tremendous job with this book! It is chilling, suspenseful, and twisty.

Lots of suspense in this intriguing story where a husband who died a few years earlier seems to reappear from the dead. Eva's husband Hugo died in an apparent suicide, and she has moved on and is remarried to Zach and moved to a new area. While there she meets Theo who is a dead ringer for Hugo and begins to think it is her dead husband. She comes up against lots of doubts and suggestions that she is mentally unwell. she is also faced with the assumption that her new husband has been lying to her while they have been apart and has all that to unravel to. I felt a lot of sympathy for Eva throughout the book. Although there are many clues spread throughout, some of the reveals are still surprising.
I was slightly disappointed by the ending which I found quite twee.

A lot of books usually either have a super good beginning or an amazing end. It's pretty rare for me to find one that has both but this defiantly had such a great beginning and all the way through pace that kept me wanting to keep reading like crazy and it also had an unforgettable ending.

A masterfully woven psychological thriller that will draw you in to discover how everything connects.
A massive fan of Carla Kovach’s Detective Gina Harte series, I was very interested to try this stand-alone book which is a genre I don’t read often. She delivered a story that held my attention to discover the truth.
The story centers around Eva who lost her husband to suicide and has finally picked up the pieces and managed to move on with her life, finding love. She her new husband and her son Caiden move to a small town to start this new chapter, but this is just the beginning of her world unravelling a second time.
As a wedding planner nothing could have prepared her for one of her early appointments in the new job when the groom to be is eerily similar looking to the husband she lost. This book is full of lies, secrets, deception, infidelity, stalking, and gas lighting leaving several of the characters unsure of their own mental health a sense that no one around them can be trusted.

Carla Kovach is a brilliant writer, both in the Gina Harte series and her standalone novels.
This one had me hooked from the start and I was intrigued to see how it would all link together. I was not disappointed!
Eva lost her husband, Hugo, in the most tragic of circumstances and has a found a new life with her son Caiden and new husband, Zach. They move to a seaside resort in Devon which Eva loves.
Madison lives there already and is about to marry Theo and they have a baby, Emily.
The two women find themselves linked in very mysterious circumstances and the build-up and storyline is fantastic.
The twists and turns throughout are real page-turners and it’s a definite 5⭐️ recommendation from me.

This book had me in a chokehold from the very first page! I was scared, my heart was racing, I felt empathy towards all the characters—and I absolutely could not put it down. The suspense was intense, the emotions were real, and every twist had me holding my breath. And THE ENDING!!! I was fully invested and constantly on edge (in a good way). The writing was so well done, and I’m definitely reading more from this author. If you love thrillers that make you feel everything, this one’s a must-read!!!!

This was a really good book. It was very different plot than usual, which was great!
I really was caught off guard as to how the ending unfolded. It took me a bit to get the full vibe of the three main characters. But I really was worried for them, once I got deeper into the story. I recently went to Scotland, so reading those book was a real treat! I highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this book, specifically the way the author did the point of views. We got to see the same event from two different perspectives which gave it that detail to make it feel like I was watching a movie!
This book kept me guessing, I had no idea what to believe. I love when a thriller keeps me on my toes like that. The ending did a good job of wrapping up all the loose ends, let us know where everyone landed in their lives but also left a little air of mystery. I didn't especially love any characters in particular; I didn't feel connected to them, but I liked watching their lives as if I had been a fly on the wall. The book is a mixture of building the characters and the plot, neither one felt more prevalent than the other I don't think. I'd call this book medium paced, I was able to put it down, but I did take space in my head until I picked it back up again! If you're a fan of a suspenseful story with lots of detail this one is for you!

Really good read, had ne hooked from the start. Definitely worth a read if you enjoy twists and turns xx
