What a beautiful read. I absolutely loved Rachel and Josh's story ,they met when they were eighteen and were happily married until a decision by Josh when he was twenty nine changed their relationship forever. Although they parted they seemed to be always part of one another's lives and the beautiful writing and storytelling was very emotional and pulled at your heartstrings and at the end I was in tears. A story that will stay with me for a long time and I highly recommend it 5 🌟 from me

I'm not sure how I can review this without spoilers. The synopsis doesn't give anything away about the story lines, and so I won't either.
It's essentially a love story. A married couple who love each other deeply, but one makes a decision, and the other walks away as a result. I will say this has an element where you need to suspend disbelief in order to enjoy the story. I found this was easily done.
I've read all of Holly Miller's books and loved them all. This was no exception. A lovely easy to read story that is funny in places but also very sad. I especially loved it because, like the main characters, I was also born in 1970.

Gorgeous gorgeous book! I absolutely love Holly Miller and all of her beautiful work! I loved the concept of what life looks like when your greatest love isn’t by your side. It was so poignant and beautiful and I was so intrigued to find out! I was the least bit disappointed and I didn’t have a dry eye.

Holly Miller’s Still Falling For You is a heart-wrenching and exquisitely crafted romance that explores the fragile, precious nature of love when faced with the inevitability of loss. From the very first pages, the novel establishes an intense, electric connection between Josh and Rachel, two young students whose immediate bond feels destined and profound. Miller captures the intoxicating exhilaration of first love with remarkable sensitivity, making the reader believe in the kind of soulmate connection that feels rare and extraordinary.

What sets this novel apart from a conventional romance is its deeply unique and high-concept premise. The story spans over a decade, confronting the characters with a cruel genetic curse that threatens Josh’s life before he can reach thirty—a fact that casts a long, poignant shadow over their dreams of a shared future. The narrative balances tender, romantic moments with an undercurrent of suspense and anxiety, creating a tension that is both emotional and gripping. Josh’s moral and emotional dilemmas regarding a radical treatment offered by a brilliant scientist are rendered with nuance, highlighting the ethical and personal stakes involved in the pursuit of love and survival.

Miller’s writing is at once lyrical and intimate, conveying the depth of the characters’ emotions with clarity and resonance. Rachel and Josh are vividly drawn, their joys, fears, and heartbreaks portrayed in a way that makes their struggles immediately relatable, despite the extraordinary circumstances. The book’s exploration of mortality, love, and the choices we make in pursuit of happiness gives it a philosophical weight that elevates it above the typical romance genre.

The pacing is deliberate, allowing readers to fully absorb the complexities of the characters’ relationship and the implications of Josh’s predicament. Emotional peaks are carefully crafted, and the novel delivers moments of heartbreak and hope in equal measure. The story’s structure, following the couple at key ages—18, 29, and beyond—underscores the passage of time and the evolution of love, making their journey all the more poignant.

While the premise is unconventional, Miller handles it with such sensitivity that the narrative never feels forced or gimmicky. Instead, it becomes a meditation on the fragility of life, the resilience of love, and the courage it takes to choose hope in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.

Overall, Still Falling For You is a beautifully written, emotionally immersive novel that will leave readers both teary-eyed and deeply moved. It’s a story that lingers long after the final page, a testament to Miller’s ability to craft romance that is both heart-stopping and profoundly human.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A heartbreaking, unforgettable love story that masterfully blends high-concept stakes with deep emotional resonance.

What I loved most about this book was the internal logic - Miller went for an unconventional story line and completely committed to it, didn't try to explain it, just let the story lead the way and it really worked. The ending was gorgeous, touching without being over the top and I thought she captured the male voice really well too. Great read.
