Thank you Boodwood books for the ARC!

This was so sweet! I liked Clara and Jack, the new characters, and was rooting for their marriage and family all the way through, but the original characters, especially Agnes & Aubrey! Chef’s kiss! I loved learning so much more about them.

Always love going back to the lovely Cotswolds with this series and I hope to actually visit the area one day.

I loved the mix of festive village vibes, ghostly fun, and heartfelt drama between the characters. The setting felt magical and the story had just the right balance of warmth and tension. A few parts wrapped up a little too neatly for me, but overall it left me smiling and ready for Christmas. Solid 4 stars from me!

Christmas Spirits at Honeywell House is book #3 in the Ghosts of Rowan Vale series by Sharon Booth.

I love the Yuletide setting in Rowan Vale. Clara and Jack and Aubrey and Agnes are the main characters in this story. This was a good book, but it wasn’t my favorite in the series. There were a couple of the main characters that I didn’t like how they handled things, but overall it was an enjoyable read, and I look forward to my next visit to Rowan Vale.

Thank you to the author, Boldwood Books, and NetGalley for the Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Christmas Spirits At Honeywell House
Sharon Booth

🌟🌟🌟🌟

So, I know we're just entering the spooky season and all things cosy, but you know how I love the festive period too - so what better than combining these two favourites in on great looking read.

As soon as I spotted this front cover (and title), I knew this would be a book for me!
The whole Christmas vibe but with the ghostly figures too, I was sold - and that wasn't even taking into account the adorable dog too!

In all the excitement, I totally missed seeing that this was actually a book 3 in the Ghosts Of Rowan Vale series...and as you can tell, I haven't read the first 2 books.

In terms of the storyline in this book, I did follow this well enough, even without reading the other books - but I do feel like I'd have benefitted by knowing the characters and their backstories better.
There were times where I could tell that there was history that I was missing out on.
That said, this was totally my own fault so understand that this hasn't been reflected in my rating.

I absolutely loved the setting which was well described and felt realistic and atmospheric.
The Christmas vibes were strong and I was totally immersed in this world with all the characters.

The writing flowed well and apart from those little moments, I was hooked and racing through the pages.

This was an enjoyable read and I definitely want to catch up with the other books - I'll be adding them to my tbr for the near future.

It’s Christmas time in Rowan Vale & the small picturesque village is decked to the halls. The Christmas market & twinkly lights make it look like something from the front of a Christmas card & for both the living & ghostly residents, the countdown to the big day is on!
However not everyone is feeling merry…
For Clara & Jack Milsom at Honeywell House & the spirits of Aubrey & Agnes at Harling Hall, long held secrets, lies & unexpected surprises have thrown Christmas into chaos & it’s going to take more than just festive cheer to get things back on track!

✅ This is a great book for anyone who enjoys -
• books/genre - CHRISTMAS🎄, cosy romance, comedy, cosy fantasy & cosy paranormal.
• themes/tropes - Christmas, winter, ghosts/paranormal (friendly!), small town/village setting, close-knit community & found family.

[If you’re a fan of BBC’s ‘Ghosts’, you will LOVE this book]

Christmas Spirits at Honeywell House is the third instalment in Sharon Booth’s ‘Ghosts of Rowan Vale’ series.
It’s a cosy, heartwarming, feel-good story with entertaining ghostly characters, festive fun & the chaos that comes with Christmas. Set in the beautiful Cotswold village of ‘Rowan Vale’, it’s full of small town charm & community spirit. It’ll make you feel like your heart has grown 2 sizes & have you heading to the loft for the Christmas decorations (who cares if it’s August!?)
If you’re looking for an uplifting, heartwarming, charming story filled with love, laughter & Christmas magic then look no further!

I really enjoyed this book & would definitely recommend! The plot was entertaining, easy to follow & the flashback chapters included all of the necessary background information. The cast of lovable characters was only small which allowed for deeper connections & a better understanding of their personalities/circumstances. However I wish there’d been more ghostly characters as a lot of the humour came from that side of the book.
Sharon included enough contention to build drama but not to overshadow the warm hearted, joyful nature. It really is merry, jolly & filled with Christmas magic✨

[For any ‘Ghosts’ fans out there, if you took the tv show & put it onto paper, this would be the result. It has the same humour & similar character types so if like me you were sad when the series ended, please read this book! I finished the last page & went straight to iPlayer to re watch it for the 100th time..,]

Honeywell House has been mentioned in the earlier books, as reference has been made to the miniature version of the village that was housed in the grounds. Although we have heard and seen references to the train driver, I feel that this was our first glimpse of Jack and the opportunity to get to know him.

The story begins with Clara meeting Jack and progressing beyond what was intended as a one-night stand. However, their chemistry was too strong, and now they have three sons, a dog, and a hectic life. I could completely understand Clara’s stress and wanted to offer her a giant hug. At least with their youngest now heading to school, Clara would have the opportunity to catch up on her life and regain her control.

Meanwhile, at Harling Hall, not everyone is enjoying a happy-ever-afterlife as tensions mount between Agnes and Aubrey. Agnes had been colluding with Lawrie to ensure that Aubrey was saved from an encounter with his great-granddaughter, who had moved into Rowan Vale. Keeping them apart had proved to be a challenge and had impacted their daily ‘afterlives’.

What I had learned from the earlier books is that despite her interference, Agnes mainly had Aubrey’s happiness at heart. She also needed to be in control, but was able to justify her actions and decisions based on that need.

There are mentions of practically the entire line-up of Rowan Vale, including cameos from some delightful ghostly characters, such as Quintus Severus, the ghostly centurion who patrolled the village ensuring everyone’s safety.

This is a gorgeous instalment in what is proving to be a delightful series, which has certainly captured my imagination. I am aware that Sharon is starting another new series that will run alongside this one, and I look forward to seeing where she takes us next.

Heart-warming and festive, Christmas Spirits at Honeywell House by Sharon Booth captured my attention and heart from the first page. I adored the new Rowan Vale instalment to a series that has me eagerly waiting to read the next adventure. This unique and memorable story line with endearing characters who are both ghosts and living town dwellers, make me feel as though I know, empathise and respect each of them with their traumas and dramas. The dialogue between the characters is perfect, mature and engaging. The backdrop of this special village is exceptionally described and I can see clearly every image that surrounds and graces the setting. The plot is believable (even with the events surrounding the ghosts!) as it easily parallels the real world making it relatable. Emotions and reactions are universal in that the characters exhibit what one would expect in various circumstances. Yet there are surprises to keep a hungry reader wondering what might happen next!

The Christmas season is a special time of year with falling snow and twinkling lights that add more sparkle to the Cotswold historical village. The novel set during this period, adds a nice flavour to the drama. Christmas Spirits at Honeywell House focuses on two main relationships: Clara and Jack in the temporal world and Aubrey and Agnes in the spirit realm. Fear is a common negative emotion that flows back and forth between the two domains and couples. Fear that can foster the need to control. In Agnes’s case, it causes some serious relationship damage with her beloved Aubrey. Agnes keeps a tight rein on Aubrey’s activities for fear of losing him. She eventually sees the consequences of her actions and it is heart shattering. As for Clara, she hangs on tightly to a devastating secret that, if known, could seriously affect her marriage and bring into question her trust and motives. But behind this negative motivator is love: the positive force that pulls these four back together. For both Clara and Agnes feel great love for their special men. Once forgiveness is administered, happy resolutions come.

I loved this novel from start to finish with its wonderful surprises and turns of events. I felt the dialogue between Clara and Jack was very well written and the heated words shared between them were appropriate and relatable. It was easy to see each one’s point of view (though I favoured Clara’s the most!) and Jack’s injury of pride was, you might say, typical.

Callie, the caretaker of the village, was a wonderful equaliser of the characters’ conflicts. Her caring yet modern views injected some much needed wisdom into an archaic system that needed updating so her words and actions were a breath of fresh air in a stagnant and once unmovable code of rules!

I enjoyed getting to know Aubrey on a deeper level. He has a sweet personality but showed some fire when he felt betrayed. His actions and reactions were understandable and once we get Agnes’s backstory, we can understand her motives and what led her to do what she did. The main thing is that lessons are learned and joy comes out of the trials, once fears are addressed and dismantled, so that love can reign supreme!

Yes, I totally recommend the delightful Christmas Spirits at Honeywell House. It is a great addition to the series. Reading these books is like getting comfy in your favourite chair, wearing your cosy pjs and relaxing with your favourite cup of tea or hot chocolate. Warm and winsome, uplifting and memorable. It does the heart good to read these beautiful stories! 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Rowan Vale.

When Clara first arrived in Rowan Vale, she became aware of something that only some residents sense too. But, a few others became aware of her secret and she was advised to keep it to herself and to not even inform Jack.

When she married Jack and moved into his cottage, she didn’t let on about her secret. Now, after a long time and with three children later, Clara has plans that could, finally see her doing more than look after the children and the cottage, but, something happens that causes those plans to be put on hold.

Christmas is just around the corner and everyone is looking forward to the Christmas Market as well as the Dickensian weekend, more so the ghosts. Aubrey would like to attend the market, Agnes, doesn’t want them to. Is Agnes also hiding a secret just like Clara?

The story was about friendship, family and romance, friendship and family. I loved the Christmas setting. It will have you turning the pages, and you’ll find it hard to put down.

I highly recommend this book.

I'm so pleased to be able to review another book set in Rowan Vale where ghosts are a very important part of the town. This book follows Clara and Jack, who we're introduced to in the previous book. I really enjoyed knowing more about these characters and especially learning about their back stories, which the author did really well, and I loved how they met and how they ended up in Rowan Vale. Clara experiences a massive shock and change during the course of the book, and she faces a lot of challenges as she struggles when her dream is shattered by something unexpected. We also follow the relationship between Aubrey and Agnes as Aubrey battles with his conscience as he wants to attend something in the village, but Agnes doesn't want them to go. It's always a joy reading these books, and the setting of Rowan Vale is so familiar and comforting to return to. I don't even like villages, I prefer cities but Rowan Vale is a village I can't wait to visit again! I definitely recommend this book for people who like fantasy/ghosts or historical fiction... this book and the previous really is suited for lots of different tastes!

I received an advanced reader's edition from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I loved it. I've been following the series for three books now, and where I loved each one this one ticked all the boxes for me. I think it's the ghost of Silas Alexander that got me. The premise of the little village being a living history museum, with the some of the ghosts of the original inhabitants is perfect. I love the connection between the then and now. And I like that each story has solved a ghost's backstory, and finding place and found families. (This one was no different for me, I loved Aubrey's connection to the now part and in a way reconciling a bit of his past to pave the way for what he has now). But it's Silas that put me over the edge- first, give that man something to do- someone to argue with! The point he makes about what if they've been abandoned by God and everything they believed to be true isn't quite- hit the nail on the head for me. I hope he gets a story some time also. The back and forth between him and Aubrey is so perfect- the what if what we thought as punishment is a bit of reward a small do over if you will? This one is my favorite of the three

Whilst I haven’t read her previous books I thought I would give it a go. Not for me with the paranormal aspect of the book. I read some but didn’t finish it. Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity and to Sharon and her publisher.

Yes! Another Rowan Vale adventure!!! This series has been my new delight this year and I love each one of them!

Rowan Vale is a town like no other, there are ghosts aplenty and it is a little piece of living history [literally!] in the Cotswolds. This time we get a story with the Milsoms, Clara and Jack. Clara is dealing with perimenopause [😭] and it feels like their marriage is on the rocks. However, what Jack doesn't know is Clara is keeping a secret that could be the final nail in their marriage.

The first two books in this series centred around new romance, and I like that this one delved into a deeper relationship. In many ways I could relate to Clara - definitely with the perimenopause and how it feels like such a terrible time in your life. Every step of this story I was rooting for Clara to find her true self and over come her past, and I was rewarded with the best story ever!

This series is beautifully written and combines small town with cozy ghostly adventures and every single one has become my new favourite. I don't want this series to ever end!!! I absolutely can't wait for the next one.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this third book. I have really enjoyed this series and the cast of characters. I just felt this was a little slower for me, but I know people will be interested in Agnes and Aubrey's stories. I just didn't love Clara and Jack's side story (which was also a main plot), but I didn't think it picked up until 60% through.

Still will be a big fan and sharing the love I have with friends/followers for Rowan Vale.

One Liner: A bit too goody goody

More than fifteen years ago, Clara arrived at Rowan Vale to meet her boyfriend Jack. Now, she’s a SAHM dealing with three naughty sons. Clara is excited when she gets a chance to start a new business and find herself again. However, the opportunity seems to slip from her fingers while putting her marriage in a precarious position.
Meanwhile, at Harling Hall, the resident ghosts, Agnes and Aubrey, seem to have disagreements about the Dickensian-themed weekend for Christmas celebrations in the village. Aubrey wants to attend them, while Agnes is adamant they shouldn’t.
Can Christmas magic help the couple set things right?
The story comes in Clara’s first-person POV and the third-person POVs of Agnes and Aubrey.

My Thoughts:
This is the third book in the series and might work as a standalone. I read the first book, which helped me have a clear idea of the setting and the characters. You can do that too.
The setting is cozy and beautiful. Christmas makes it even better with the cold, decorations, and lots of celebrations planned.
We meet a lot of kids this time. They all have different personalities and are easy enough to track. Apart from Immi and Florrie, who are little crackers and delightful, Freddie (a 6yo) makes his presence felt with his antics. There’s a fluffy big dog too (Toby).
Halfway through, the story feels like a repetition of book one. It’s the same thing in a different subplot. Needless to say, I didn’t like the same character in both books, nor do I like how easily it’s all forgiven, especially when another character also made me angry. While I can see the FMC’s situation, the other two responsible for it had no right to be forgiven so easily.
Honestly, as much as Christmas is about good things, it doesn’t mean a being can get away with lies, manipulation, blackmail, and whatnot, especially when it affects many others and their relationships for years. Also, it is not healthy to accept and forgive someone who projects their trauma onto others and uses it to play god.
I love happy endings, but this one somehow didn’t make me that happy. The main couple, yes, to an extent.
To summarize, Christmas Spirits at Honeywell House is a cozy Christmas read where ghosts and humans do things that have long-lasting consequences. The book certainly has its strengths, but somehow the message didn’t work for me.
Do check other reviews before you decide.
Thank you, NetGalley and Boldwood Books, for the eARC. This review is voluntary and contains my honest opinion about the book.

Will their Christmas be too eventful?!🎁

4.5 🌟 stars
Yes, I like a good novel set at Christmas time with all the shiny trappings, carols, festivals and community goodwill. This story has that but it's more focused on family drama and finding a way to mesh blood and found family, be they ghost or human (or a mix!). Clara and Jack, the caretakers of Rowan Vale's model village, have been secondary characters previously in the series and take center stage here, along with ghosts Aubrey and Agnes, in this engaging third book set in the month of December.

Clara's malaise and lack of Christmas spirit at the start turn into a major shakeup for her family. This and the secret she's been holding in ever since she met Jack fifteen years earlier threaten to totally derail Clara's world. I found the plot a good one and the way love, friendship and the importance of family dominate the characters and action make this a sweet, inspirational choice for a holiday read. Clara and Jack's youngest son Freddie with his constant demands was especially appealing.

Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Sharron Booth writes books that burrow in, snuggle in and take a lovely place in your heart. from her covers to her characters she does it all so well.
now im not one for the fantastical a magical books we've been seeing storming through every single book these days. but when i see a book or author doing something and it catches my eyes im might just be tempted to take a peak. and if i peak onwards that means something very special indeed. and this book was special and felt special. and somehow the ghostly parts of it, like the other wonderful books in this series, felt completely believable. i would happily say the characters that are ghosts make up some of the best in the case we meet in these books!
in these books we have humans going through their own stories but also the ghosts! The world Sharon has created here for us is so unique and done so well. its almost like "yeh, its a village that lives amongst ghosts...and?"
this story also doesn't create a pair meeting and falling in love. for this book we have two people who are already full involved with children, but they now face their own part in the story with what is going on for them in this book. and maybe actually they both do need to find love, but how to find it in each other again. especially when we learn that Clara is keeping something secret.
the ghosts we settle on this time is Aubrey and Agnes who are definitely going through it. can you pick sides between ghosts? well, i did a little, and i don't want to spoil it so im struggling to know what to say but i was a bit angry at certain ghosts behaving and projecting in certain ways. and if i could and wouldn't slip through her i might have given her a little shake or two.
Aubrey has me heart in this book. such a gooden. you root for him all the way through and i was keeping everything crossed he would get his ending.
i love reading Christmas books that come our way this time of year. its the only time i dont mind Christmas coming to our shelves early! they are so snuggly and warming but somehow even manage to do so in these muggy warm months.
this series is a real treat. a true gem of a selection and i urge anyone to read them.
this is a charming book, and i feel charmed to be able to read it. definitely becoming a true fave and go-to.

This was the next instalment of the ghosts of Rowan Vale. Clara has arrived with there three boisterous children to visit her long distance boyfriend, Jack. They are exploring the option of starting a business that would allow Clara to re-invent herself and breakaway from just being a mum. However unexpected news puts a spanner in the works.
Meanwhile, the tensions between Agnus and Aubrey are coming to a head.
Like the rest of the series, this is a cozy read, easy pacing and perfect for the winter season.
