Thank you to Montlake & Netgalley for an ARC of this book!

First of all, I LOVED this, LOOOVED IT!!! It was the most fun I’ve had reading a book in a long time. All Superheroes Need PR was great (the audio was fantastic), but THIS BOOK… AAAGGHH!!! I had the biggest smile on my face the whole time.
I don’t want to spoil anything because IT. IS. JUST. THAT. GOOD.

A morally gray alien superhero who would rather be a villain, with the filthiest mouth- um, yes please!
A battle tested war photographer who isn’t phased by his attitude & loves him even though he’s kind of a murdery psycho. Absolutely!

This was a great second book. I immediately felt like I was back in the same world- It continued to world build and carried the underlying story forward from the first book, introduced new characters while also including little life updates on Vanessa & the Wyvern.

Taranis was such an asshole in the beginning- I mean, he was still one at the end, but there was growth! I really enjoyed all the back & forth between him and the Wyvern. I also really loved that you could see that both he and Monika had trust issues going in, acknowledged it and were making an effort to work on it.
Monika was such a competent bad ass and instead of being put off by that, it made him respect her more.

“You don’t have to be an asshole.”
“I’m your asshole, remember?”

But then he also learns some Korean & German words of endearment & makes his house cozy for her! Gah! I just loved it!!

And the spice! Elizabeth Stephens can write some top tier spice! That limo scene had me in a chokehold it was so good!

Tropes etc
- touch her and die, literally
- he falls first
- possessive AF
- MINE
- you belong to me now
- knotting!
- he turns blue with horns & white sparkles
- prehensile tail that “helps” iykyk
- D/s
- bondage & light BDSM
- degradation & praise

Run, don’t walk to add it to your TBR!

Will book 3 be Marduk & Lemlem?? I can’t wait to find out!!

* there’s so many exclamation marks, shouty caps & uses of the word love in this review 😂 I had to sleep on what to write because I didn’t want to just scream I LOVED IT! over and over again.

Thank you to NetGalley, Elizabeth Stephens, and Montlake for the advanced copy!
Rating: 4/5 stars

I was SO excited to see this became available! I think I went into this book thinking it'd kind of be like the first one, and I have never been so glad to be wrong. Taranis is the perfect anti-hero. Monika, our fmc, sees right through his crap and doesn't worship him the way other humans do and he is into it.

If you want to be surprised, go in blind on this book. Don't look up tropes. You will be DELIGHTFULLY excited by it, I promise!!

Elizabeth, can we get book 3 yet???

This was even better than the first book in this series! Absolutely amazing, I loved seeing Monika and Taranis interact. It’s a super spicy workplace monster romance with a contemporary setting. Incredible. Unhinged at some moments, but in the best ways! I loved this so much!

What a great follow up to All Superheroes Need PR! Monika is a total badass and I loved Taranis’s shifting priorities as he falls more in love with her. Ads in the excellent spice, the engaging good vs. evil battles, and the cameos by Roland and Vanessa and you’ve got a book I’ll be coming back to again and again. I’m hoping there’s more with this world and these stories!

This is the book 2 to the Supers in the City series. Taranis is a superhero with electric powers and Monika is a war/action photographer. He tricks her into a contract with him using her crush on him against her. But what happens when he starts to actually see her and like a human.

This book was so fun. Her little spouts of dissociation when she is about to have a panic attack are perfectly written. I loved Monika as a character. She is strong and funny. Taranis is kind of an asshole but it works. Its more of a "i hate everyone but you" kind of thing. Taranis is a bit more morally grey than Rolland was and Im not mad about that.

I used this as a palate cleanser book since the last book I read was not good at all. I needed a pick me up and this hit the spot! I read this in one sitting and didn't want to put it down! The spice in this book is phenomenal! I love a good dom/sub relationship and when there is knotting???? YES! And the knotting isn't only in the last 10% of the book??? SIGN ME UP!

Thank you Net Galley for the E-arc of this book!

This was a cute and fun palette cleanser book, I read it quickly and really enjoyed it. I hadn’t read the first in the series but downloaded it afterwards for the next time I need a cheer up read.

What I liked in particular:
- I liked the merge between superheroes and the day to day lives of everyone else. It was like getting to read what Lois Lane gets up to when she’s not hanging out with Superman.
- Monika was a really likeable character.

Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Okay, a superhero romance is not something I knew I needed. How adorable!! Love this little book. The definition of escapism.
