A compelling tale linking past events with the present. A carefully woven book full of challenges and emotions.
I was addicted to reading this unforgettable story from the first page.

So this was my first review for NetGalley and I wasn’t expecting much; maybe a frothy romance book but WOW was I wrong.
This is about a young woman who wins a house lottery on an island in Greece and how she uncovers the history of the house and its occupants.
I am avid reader of Victoria Hislop and this really gave me vibes of those who are loved or the island. The descriptions were so vivid and clear, it was exceptional. Both the modern and the historical stories were at times tough reads, but so worth while.
Absolutely belting book,

As always I was gripped by the writing style and could very easily picture the described landscape as well as the characters.
The setting on the Greek island of Folegandros is gorgeous and absolute escapism.
Both timelines are very interesting while the one during occupation in WWII was enthralling and I flew through the pages.
Can’t wait for the next book in the series!

An easy to read dual timeline story set on a Greek island. An enjoyable holiday read. Would download if part of a kindle unlimited or prime deal. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the review copy.

This is a story of hope, found family and mystery-solving told in a dual storyline between past and present. The writing style was excellent and the excerpts from the letters were well-placed and gave the story an alternative perspective, which I really valued as a reader, without repeating anything. I really enjoyed solving the mystery with the characters as I read, and I found the pace engaging throughout, though slightly faster paced towards the end, but it never felt too slow or rushed. I would've loved a fully resolved mystery by the end, as I'm on tenterhooks for more and am sad to leave this lovely island with so much interesting history and character. I would recommend this as a great escapism read, but beware of the content warnings for violence, abusive relationships and war that come up towards the end of the book.
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the eARC, I am incredibly pleased to have had the chance to read and review this fabulous book!

A beautiful yet moving read about love and loss. Set in a small Greek island where we meet Skye and follow her journey whilst also learning secrets of the past. A dual timeline with stories of the past from the 1940 and the war.
I loved how the author was able to bring the island to life with beautiful descriptions. The minor characters certainly added to the story too.
I’d love to learn more about the characters as I felt there was more story to tell.

I received a free copy of, The House of Hidden Letters, by Izzy Broom, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Skye decides to enter a competition to buy a Greek cottage, she decides to try for it. The cottage is not what it looked like at all. This book has all the emotions, so much going on, past and present.

I adored this book and the story it told of skye and Katerina and I really enjoyed the 2 different time lines of the books and I love all the characters with Andreas and reading this book had my craving delicious Greek food especially honey cake and a visit to Greece
I recommend this book and wish the author all the best with this book
Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the opportunity to read this book

Thank you so much for the ARC!
This book features a few of my favorite things. It is a romance book that features a dual narrative and is set against the history of the Greek island Folegandros, and has a twinge of mystery as the main characters try to unfold the back story of the place they live in.
While the beginning of the book develops slowly (and therefore took me a little while to get into it), it is a beautiful read that gets you hooked until the end. A story of personal development, a reminder that history is always amongst us, and the summery vibe of a Greek island.
I especially loved that two powerful female characters were the main focus of the book, that both got the chance to develop themselves, and were not just whisked away by romance. Empowering!
Thank you NetGalley & Random House for the ARC!

This is a great debut from Izzy Brown. I thoroughly enjoyed going through this journey with these well developed characters.
Skye wins the lottery to buy a house for one euro on a Greek island and takes it. There are other houses that have been won, and a small community comes together.
Whilst moving into her new house she finds hidden letters in her house, which sends Skye into the past to find out what happened during the war on this little island.
Whilst Skye is burrowing herself with the past, she has been neglectful of the present and it soon catches up with her.
There are a variety of themes that feature in this book, I particularly love how Izzy Brown has written and presented each of her characters and I was fully invested in this story.
I felt the ending could have meatier but on the whole this was a thoroughly enjoyable read. I hope to read more from this author. Thank you

I was gripped by the two timelines and rooting for both Katerina and Skye. I can’t wait to find out more about this wonderful cast of characters (and the community) in the next novel. This heartfelt tale of love and loss, set against the idyllic Greek backdrop, packs a gut-punch of emotion. Compelling and captivating, this is the perfect holiday read!

I was really pleased to review this from NetGalley
The story which is- dual time lines, and set in Greece. Skye has won a lottery to an abandoned Grrek house with some others. The house is in need of renevation and are helped by Andreas. As I said there are two timelines, one in the present and during the second world war with the previous owners, in which Skye find out during her time in this cottage by means of letters.
An emotional and good read really recommended and I feel privilaged to have read this before the publication date- set for March 26 2026.
This will be a great Easter and sunbed read in 2026.

I loved everything about this book. Set on a Greek island, partly historical , being set during the Second World War, and great characters. The story was written at a fast pace and the content was thought provoking at times. Well recommended.

This beautiful read made my heart happy.
I was whisked away to beautiful Greece and I was absorbed by the characters and setting from the off.
This is a wonderfully told tale bth emotional and thrilling. it is a feel good tale and was, for me, a one sit read.

Brilliant! Great storyline, well developed characters and a bit of historical insight thrown in. What’s not to love! This story grabbed me right away and I loved getting to know the other lottery house winners. What a great and varied bunch of people. The sense of community grew and the split storyline enhanced it all. This was a wonderful read, and didn’t shy away from some hard relationship stuff. Four stars

Enjoyable read. Loved the storyline and skye running away.
Thought the end was quick. Enjoyed the coming together if the community

Skye has come to a tiny Greek island to get away from her problems, when she managed to win her own cottage in the 1 euro lottery it seemed like a sign. When she arrives it's obvious there's a lot of work to be done to get it up to scratch but she finds others in a similar position and their shared experience forges them into a community. She discovers a number of items hidden during the last war whilst renovating her cottage which make her want to find out more about the past occupants. Compelling story which transports you to the past in beautiful Greek surroundings.

Completely invested in Skye and Kat, both stories very gripping even though decades apart.
Skye wins a house in Greece in a euro lottery. Kat lived in the same house during the second World War.
Their stories were very different but the hint of menace in both is undeniable.
Highly recommend this book. First I've read by this author but won't be the last.
Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for this ARC in return for my honest review

Skye enters a lottery to win a Greek cottage for £1 which she wins. It is a fresh start for her and she embraced the renovation with a little help from a handsome local! This cottage also holds a mystery when a bundle of letters are found alongside a small skeleton in the garden. I feel good read where a certain man gets his comeuppance.

I really enjoyed this book, even though it took me a little while to get into the main character Skye, who definitely had a back story to discover.
Loved reading about this little Greek island and how it was impacted during WW2., at the same time as seeing how life on the island is today.
