⭐️2.5 rounded up

I read this an arc through NetGalley.

This book shines when our FMC and MMC are together. Their banter is fantastic.

Nat (our FMC) developed the hottest dating app and while there are times when it is actually a bit scary to see how much Nat can access behind the scenes, she believes in her data and her app’s matches 100%. Rami (our MMC) thinks Nat’s app is the worst and is hurting society one swipe at a time.

This book just wants to scream I take place in 2025; with mentions of dragon riders and Fae romance novels the references here are ultra modern. As someone who is in her mid 30s I don’t think I have ever heard IRL used in real conversation as many times as this book used it.

That aside, Swiped does have a nice slow burn and is a great rivals to lovers story.

There are some funny moments but sooooo many political digs at republicans that it was tedious. It was just beating a dead horse when politics are mentioned more than positive talk of what the characters bring to a relationship.
The FMCs entire profile is fake and then she wonders why she can’t make a real connection.
The MMC honestly seems like he needs therapy instead of publicly attacking someone.
The whole book slowed down at about 40% when it should have picked up.
The mains are just kinda hard to feel anything for. There wasn’t really anything horribly wrong with them there just wasn’t anything right either.
I was waiting for chemistry, anything but it was flat.

I won’t post my review until after the book releases

i love the thought of reading and supporting debut authors. it must be one scary time. and one thrilling time, its takes more and more hard work for our hard working authors to get out there. so the fact i get to read them makes me feel all the more lucky.
this one had great magic to it. it was fun, sweet and cute. this was just the romance i wanted going into this book after reading the blurb and just what i needing in my life right now. something lovely but with that hint of angst because you are rooting for a pair and their banter is bantering.
here we have a woman who is out there to say romance can be done, sorted, found via an app. its of course that simple. or she needs it to be. not just her job or is on the line here. but also her heart because it turns out the heart and love might be a little too unpredictable and surprising for an app to discover or predict. can she let it.
because then we have Remi. and he might just upend all she needed to believe in. but might he be the date to all her data. might she need to risk her stats, her date, her programs just to be free to love.
i like how we are getting new type of tropes and personalities into the romance genre. id like to one day NOT have to mention that there are science bros or gals out there just living life. that they are quirky or different lol.
a charming and fun read. bravo and well done to this author im sending all the wishes for you author dreams.

This was quick read that at first I was really enjoying. As the story progressed it felt harder to connect to the MC, Nat. She had a hard time communicating for no reason at all. It sort of felt like the book made her so disagreeable to keep the conflict going. The middle of the story slowed down and made it feel like it took a while to get to the end. There story felt unrealistic considering that both MCs were coders that hardly coded and seemed to have a lot of time on their hands. Plus, they didn’t interact enough to believe the connection had deepened. It was a good idea that lacked tension and chemistry.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc

It's a cute romance that it's easy to read and can make you laugh! I liked the connection between the characters and it was heart warming to see their friendship.

A cute little romance with characters who warmed my heart. So adorable, but not quite a favorite. I liked it!
