This was a lovely little creepy read. I thought the characters felt believable and grounded even amidst all of the horror happening. I did speed read this one, but that didn't detract from how well done the horror was. In fact, Edwards' writing made it easy to speed read because I was HOOKED.

I was engaged from the cover and description and was so glad I was able to read this, it worked well in the horror genre and thought the overall story was wonderfully written. The characters had that element that I wanted and enjoyed about how they were used in this. Thomas Edwards has a strong writing style and was a strong opening chapter to the From the Files of John Blackwood series, it left me wanting to read more in this world as this was so well done.

A well written story that kept me hooked from the very beginning.
The characters draw you in and keeps you flipping the pages.
They are realistic and very well developed.
I really enjoyed the writing style. I found myself hooked, turning the pages.
