This was a strong true crime book, it uses the true crime element That I was hoping for and enjoyed in the genre. It was so well done and was able to create the environment that I was looking for and worked in being respectful for the case. Scott Eden wrote this so well and was glad I got to read this.

Not me getting excited at finding a singular book in the publishing industry about marijuana for it to be an anti weed book. I swear.
Medicinal marijuana is incredibly effective medicinally and often times a last resort for patients with high pain that are scared of being on strong pain meds for the rest of their life and using H patches which leads directly to pill addiction. But go on and use common arguments, jumbled facts, random plot, and shove them into a book.
This book has completely random factoids about weed that most of the population is aware of mixed with a narrative but the writing style was so dry I was just annoyed trying to read this. I should have known by the way the bag looked weird and the fact this was a true crime book versus cozy mystery romance etc. I requested this when I was quite tired. Hoping net galley makes the genres easier to see and not tiny in the future. I should have also read the blurb twice. It was long so I thought it was about a crime and not about anti weed…l
This is on me for requesting this one so for that I’m not giving it one star. I am against everything it stands for, hate its message, and don’t like the book overall so this is not a pleasant reading experience.
If you’re a true crime fan who hates weed, this is for you. Medicinal patients that don’t feel like screaming and punching a wall this morning, I suggest avoiding this book.
