Milo’s Story is a heartfelt and eye-opening account of the challenges and triumphs of fostering. Louise Allen brings compassion and honesty to Milo’s journey, uncovering the pain behind his behaviour and the hope for healing. I thoroughly enjoyed it and gave it five stars.

I do like Louise Allen's books and there's a lot to enjoy about Milo's Story but I did have a couple of issues with it. Milo is a young boy who ends up in foster care and is seen as disruptive and difficult because nobody is getting to the root of the problem. Initially he was placed with a couple new to fostering who seemed to think it would be easy money. I found some of the language used around this family a bit uncomfortable and they come across as pantomime villains determined to fill their house with looked after children for a big paycheck. Sometimes Louise comes off as a bit sanctimonious and like only she knows how to deal with a situation which can be a bit grating at times.
