Unraveled is a Fae-inspired beauty and the beast retelling. It’s a concept that has been done before, but it still finds ways to stand as its own unique story. It’s nicely written, with an interesting and well-developed plot.
The graphics throughout the book were a nice touch and aided the story. I really wish more books did this!
Where the book fell a bit flat for me was the tone; it reads a bit YA, and I was hoping for the story to be a bit darker. Our FMC, Mia, felt a bit naive even though she’s the older sister. The amount of scenes she screamed in became a bit too much for me, and I found it hard to personally connect with her character. However, this did improve as the story progressed.
Overall, I thought this was a solid retelling and a good choice for those looking for a beauty and the best inspired story.
Thank you NetGalley and Abbey Fox for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you so much for this ARC!
The writing style was polished and immersive. I felt fully invested in the story. This almost felt like an ACOTAR tribute story with the MMC being a Rhysand-coded Tamlin instead. The narrative voice of the characters felt young and the book read a bit YA to me. I enjoyed this read. I think I would have liked it even more had I not read ACOTAR before.
This book has 5-star reviews on Goodreads. I didn't want to post it there to ruin the overall rating of this book since I feel like this is more of a "me" issue than the book's.
