I received an ARC from NetGalley and I'm willingly leaving a review.
I'm not sure if it's because I got an ARC or if the book is made like that but I thought it was a little confusing because titles had 2 names (same with yields) and then the author proceeded to give you two recipes one after the other (eg. Cream Soda Syrup Ginger Syrup OR Yield: 2 servings Yield: About 2 cups Yield About 1 cup). Except for the straining, the recipes look easy to do. I'm going to try 4-5 and see how that goes. It's a shame my Kindle doesn't show colors because the book has many pictures.

This is a recipe book for flavoured syrups designed to mix with carbonated water to make fizzy drinks. The recipes are unusual and sound delicious, and the accompanying pictures are appealing. That said like most of the recipe books in my collection, I expect I will never make a single one of these, but it would be a nice book to add to my shelf.

I am genuinely excited to try some of these recipes for sodas. Essentially, it's a cookbook for making concentrated flavor syrups that you can add to seltzer to make a good old-fashioned soda. These syrups can also be stirred into milk, used in deserts, and as the basis for cocktails. For those of us who love knowing where our food comes from and what's in it, or for those who have a great home harvest of herbs, fruits and vegetables and want to try their hand at making something other than dinner with the bounty, this cookbook will be great. This is a good addition to a larger library cookbook section, especially if you serve a population of gardeners, amateur bartenders, or food conscious patrons.

Fizz is such a fun and refreshing book! The recipes are super approachable and creative—perfect for making sodas that feel a little extra special at home. I loved the mix of classic flavors and unique twists, and the instructions are easy to follow even if you’re new to it. I especially appreciated the tips on customizing sweetness levels and using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Definitely a book I’ll keep reaching for when I want something homemade and fun to drink!

A great collection of recipes for those looking to widen their Repertoire of soft drinks or make more use of the SodaStream they have at home.

As someone who enjoys spritz and cocktails, but doesn‘t want to drink alcohol too often, this book was perfect for me.

There‘s a wide variety of recipes subdivided into six different categories. From seasonal to fruity to syrups with herbs there‘s something for everyone. I even spotted some hot recipes! The instructions are short and clear and most ingredients are easily procured. The only thing I wished for that was missing were low or no-sugar syrups.

I found the overall layout and the pictures of the different sodas appealing. The conversion table at the end of the book is useful to me.

This is a book I could buy for myself for day-to-day use as well as for friends as a small gift. And now I‘ll go and try my first syrup recipe!

Thank you, netgalley and The Collectiv Book Studio, for providing me with an ARC of this book. My opinions are my own.

I’ve been looking for an easy to understand, easy to make, cocktail style book that LOOKS professional. Boom, this is the perfect book! I appreciate how easy it was to understand without being TOO simplistic. The recipes are unique and leave a lot of room for creativity. This would be a great staple to have as a bar owner, or casual host.

I liked looking through this book, the recipes sound delicious and the accompanying photographs do make the drinks look tempting.

But - it wasn't what I was expecting, as I didn't realise that it's mostly a book of flavoured syrup recipes, that you then add to make the drinks. It's all just a bit too time consuming for me, so I don't think I would ever try to make any of the drinks.

This is a great book that has really inspired me. Like so many people in the modern world I am looking to unprocessed my diet and this book really aligns with this vision, as it has some delicious recipes that feature really fruit and no nasty sweeteners or additives. As the title suggests this book is all about making fizzier substances, but even without adding fizz the book is a winner.

I have made a couple of the recipes so far and the results have been good - fizzy honeydew strawberry aqua Fresca, and fizzy cantaloupe aqua Fresca. these are among the lower calorie option available by my own calculations, though the focus is not on calories in this book.

With chapters such as 'homemade soda copycats', 'seasonal suds' and 'fizzy teas, floats and alcohol-enhanced dazzlers'. this book is sure to have something to please everyone.

My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.

As someone who loves their SodaStream but is always a bit wary of the syrups they sell, this book was such a welcome find. The moment I saw Fizz, I knew I had to check it out, and I'm so glad I did.

This book is full of beautifully creative recipes that make you feel like a soda mixologist in your kitchen. Apricot-Cinnamon, Rhubarb-Basil, Mango-Chile… these aren't your average bubbly drinks. There's truly something for every taste, whether you're into sweet, tart, herbal, or spicy. And the best part? You know exactly what's going into your glass, no chemicals, no weird aftertaste, just fresh ingredients and amazing flavours.

One thing I appreciated is how easy the book is to navigate. Whether you're in the mood for something refreshing or cozy, with or without alcohol, it's simple to find exactly what you're looking for. The layout works, and the stunning photos make it all the more inspiring.

I also want to highlight the tips and tricks scattered throughout the book; they're super helpful without feeling overwhelming. I even learned something new: cherries are naturally high in melatonin! Guess who's going cherry-crazy next season?

This is a five-star kitchen companion for me, hands down. It's earned a permanent spot on my kitchen shelf, and I'm already planning to gift a copy to each of my daughters. It's such a feel-good, flavorful way to enjoy soda again without the junk.

Thank you to NetGalley and The Collective Book Studio for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. So grateful I got to experience this fizzy little gem!

A wonderfully flavorful book on making and creating your own fizzy drink concoctions. From traditional flavors to the herbal and fruity to mixes that you would never have thought about trying, like melons, black pepper, or coffee sodas. A delightful recipe book to try out on friends, and a sure thing to chat about after consumption.

What an interesting collection of recipes. I will say I wish there had been more to this cookbook than simply drinks. But it's a cute concept!

This is an incredible recipe book!

These recipes are easy, straightforward, + a fun twist on classic soda flavors. I am a lover of soda and make my own syrups at home for coffee and such regularly, so I'm super excited to try these recipes and flavor combinations!

Thank you to the author and The Collective Book Studio for my advance copy!

Fizz is a delightful book, full of delicious recipes for all different types of soda beverages. The photos are beautiful, representing the drinks well. Both photos and recipes are written to create desire in the reader. I can’t wait to try each and every one of the many recipes in Fizz.

This is a delightful book filled with all kinds of creative recipes for homemade sodas BUT my only complaint is that I was honestly really disappointed to find that it doesn’t have recipes for making traditional homemade sodas. I have made homemade sodas like elderflower soda for years the old fashioned way with wild yeast that naturally occurs on wild ingredients like elderflowers or a pinch of champagne yeast to naturally ferment them on the counter for a couple of days and then bottle and refrigerate them once they’re naturally bubbly but before they turn alcoholic (caveat— like kombucha, they have a tiny bit of natural alcohol, but so does real orange juice or an overripe banana).

I am going to see if I can convert some of these recipes to the old fashioned kind because I don’t want to buy a Soda Stream or bottles of seltzer, but it will be a bit tricky because these recipes are for making syrups to mix into carbonated water and not for making a jug of naturally fermented soda on your counter.

All that said, I know I’m ridiculously crunchy and old fashioned and that this is exactly the kind of recipes that the general population will love. Well recommended.

I read an advance copy of this book via netgalley.

A refreshing (pun intended) look at how to take something unhealthy for us and make it healthy, with a twist of nostalgia. Simple and easy recipes for anyone who loves sodas and entertaining.
