The second book in the Frank Adams Detective series, but easy to enjoy as a standalone. A crash and fire on a North Carolina farm draws retired NTSB investigator Frank Adams back to his hometown, where rumours of sabotage swirl. The rural setting is vivid, the pace steady, and the mix of mystery with themes of morality, truth, and corporate power kept me hooked. Frank is a likeable, determined lead with strong support from a well-drawn cast.

I loved the characters in this story and they were very well written. This is a suspenseful read with a lot of twists & will keep you enthralled. The person you’d suspect if far off. I enjoyed the storyline which in itself was frightening. Corrupt sheriff in a small town with many secrets, had me engaged from the first chapter. Great read for anyone that loves a great thriller.
