I loved this from the moment it started. The characters are so realistic, I felt like any of them could be me (or someone I know)
The plot was SO twisted, up until the VERY LAST PAGE! literally...I forgot the name and then started reading like OMFG!
The amount of "YES GIRL' that I told myself while reading was hilarious.

I love a good thriller!
This was tense, suspenseful, twisty and such a page turner.
If you like thrillers definitely give this one a try! You won’t be disappointed!!

There's no denying that *Beneath Your Lies* holds a certain darkly compelling energy, it's a thriller/romance hybrid that grabs attention from the first moment. The premise is provocative, Veronica Sullivan, reeling from her husband's infidelity, is told by him that she may carry on an affair, "under his supervision" of course. In steps Ronan, a hitman whose past bears deep scars. Their immediate, overpowering connection, love at first sight, almost literally, sets off a chain of suspense, secrets, and moral ambiguity.
The setup of infidelity, an unexpected “permission” from a DA husband, and a darkly magnetic hitman, pulls you deep into Veronica’s fractured world. As murders and disappearances ripple through the city, your pulse keeps pace. There’s a compelling sense that deeper, darker secrets are waiting to unravel.
However, the narrative jumps between perspectives in a way that can feel disorienting. While multiple POVs can enrich a story, here they may impede a seamless emotional connection to Veronica or Ronan. The mix of domestic drama, thriller elements, and moral quagmires can bend into convoluted narrative paths. In places, the story’s direction falters, not because the twists are inherently bad, but because they pile on rapidly. The genre balance is bold, but it treads a fine line. At times, the emotional beats get lost in the thriller mechanics; at others, the romance threads dilute the tension.
Overall, Beneath Your Lies is riveting. A story rooted in a concept that’s both morally twisted and emotionally charged. Its strengths lie in bold premise, raw chemistry, and an atmospheric tension that simmers beneath each page.
If you’re in the mood for a dark, passionate thriller with a morally complex heroine entangled in dangerous love, this book delivers. Just be prepared for a somewhat choppy ride that can be part of the thrill, but can also feel a bit wonky at times.

Whewwww this book splash some water on me lol !!! It was so good inviting page tuning wow !! I loved the storyline at first I was wondering where is this going but it took a different turn I didn’t like Veronica’s husband at all but I’m glad Veronica got on game and did what she had to do good good read thank you

A fantastic dark romance that I could not put down.
It gives female rage, forbidden love, suspenseful romance and revenge & healing.
Veronica has discovered that her District Attorney husband Richard has been unfaithful and she confronts him leading him to insist she moves into a hotel room and has her own affair to settle the score. But only with a man of his choosing and under his constant influence.
But Veronica has plans of her own. That is until she meets hitman Ronan. Dark and mysterious with his own demons. The chemistry between the two of them is undeniable and they find they can’t stay away from each other despite how dangerous it is for them both.
This story struck the perfect balance between story and spice. The spicy scenes are brilliantly written and leave you tingling. But they support the fantastic storyline that cleverly bridges genres of thriller, crime and romance.
The characters are complex and deep, and the cast of side characters are no different. I particularly loved Ronan’s best friend and hacker Sylvie. I was gripped by how Veronica and Ronan’s lives, secrets and destinies are linked and come to a head at the end.
Richard as the villain was the perfect blend of power and control. His influence of powerful people in the city was truly terrifying, you can’t help but love to hate him.
You learn more about the characters as the story progresses but some of the twists still had me gasping. And without giving away any spoilers the final chapter was a shocker that makes me think there will be a sequel. Fingers crossed.
A fantastically fun read that I absolutely devoured. Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy

4.5 ⭐ – Love love love!
Fast-paced, twisty, and told through three POVs - one of which brilliantly clicks into place at the end. Veronica and Ronan’s chemistry was a highlight, though one spicy scene felt a bit unrealistic given the events beforehand (the only reason I didn't give a full 5⭐).
Still, I absolutely loved reading this and I'm so happy that my very first ARC experience was such an amazing one. Thank you to Nicole Owens and NetGalley for the opportunity! I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for a second book… please say it’s coming!

Wow what a twist!
Started and finished this book today, couldn't put it down.
Got so into the characters and their stories, and the ending was a good suprise!
The spice was a great addition and didn't take away from the storyline.

I love the suspense and love the curve ball at the end. I did not expect it. I read this as an ARC and I am so glad I did. I will definitely be reading more from this author! My review contains spoilers on Goodreads.

I went into this thinking it was a thriller but it’s more a dark romance with an actual plot, and for once the MMC isn’t the only one keeping dangerous secrets!
It’s a quick and intense read, both predictable and surprising in parts. I liked the dual POV and usually I’m not a big fan of flashback chapters but I thought these snippets into the past did well to tie the ending up in a satisfying way.
Lower rating as I’m not a fan of insta love 🤷🏻♀️

Veronica Sullivan's seemingly idyllic life gets turned on its head when she confronts her husband about his infidelity. Desperate to maintain his image as the State's District Attorney and salvage their marriage, he proposes a shocking solution-Veronica can indulge in her own affair, but only under his supervision! Wow wow wow!! Some truly shocking twists! Fantastic storyline with great suspense, murder, serial killers, mystery, fantastic characters, and a few jaw dropping moments! I highly recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

Wow I'm spechless!!
Beneath Your Lifes started off as a gripping psychological thriller. The various POVs gave the story so much dimension. I had to know what would happen next to Veronica, Ronan, and Taylor. The story alternated between present and past, giving small clues and hints at what was going on.
I really enjoyed the writing and being thrown into action straight away. I kept turning the pages. This was unputdownable!
This is a solid 5-star read.

A huge sparkling 5 stars from me this book had me up to early hours of the morning, as I was so transfixed to the story. It was so good I read it within 24 hours! The ending had me gasping in awe!
This book will grip you from the very first page and hold you tightly in its grasp right until the very last page and it will leave you wondering what book you could possibly read next because no book would be able to top this one!
I’d highly recommend everyone to add this book to your reading list, you won’t be disappointed! A truly gripping psychological thriller!

A story about a wife who learns that her DA husband is cheating on her with his secretary. He offers her to let her have her own affair with a person he chooses, but she thinks it’s outrageous. It’s a dark romance where the villian gets the girl and also please know that there are talk about parents’ death, abuse and explicit sex scenes.
The story flows well with many POVs thrown at your however it all ties up properly at the end.

I love horror, books I love feminine rage books, and this cover is super cool so I had to grab it.
This book gives me a dark romance butcher and blackbird vibe. It starts off super intense with a bit of dark humor, which is absolutely wonderful. It has a great hook.
We are introduced to two different point of views, which I was totally OK with, and I think definitely adds dimension to a story and allows you to see things from different point of view allows to add for plot twist more tension and more suspense and allows you to see characters from different perspectives.
Then I started to see a different perspective a third POV from six years prior. The first mention was fine, but then it seemed to continue throughout the book. I am not a huge fan of books that go back-and-forth in time to provide context as to what happened. I really prefer when the story is told in a slightly different format rather, the main event be told in the prologue or it be told as a story in dialogue. I do not like it when it’s inserted throughout the book to try to add more context and dimension because then I have to remember six years ago and then I’m brought back to current day and I know that this is a personal preference but it is something that I really do not like.
I think it’s really cool that this protagonist is a contract killer, but I was starting to become uninterested in a bit, lost fairly quickly after the hook due to the multiple point of views the different time frames and to be completely honest some of the metaphors in the writing seemed overly drawn out for a thriller that’s of of this type. Part of me was either wanting more Gothic description or for it to be less flowery with the language, and it began to become slightly confusing because I felt that the flowery language would start each chapter, and it pulled me in slightly, but some of the metaphors were a bit odd and then it would stop. I noticed a pattern of the first paragraph of each chapter being written in this nature, and then it would switch slightly. I didn’t totally mind this, just something I noticed.
My biggest frustration with this book is that I couldn’t send it to my E-reader because it was uploaded in a PDF format, but that is something for my E-reader and I to have a personal argument about. I really heavily prefer when the format that’s uploaded as an epub file so that everyone can access it on their e-readers as well.. those that are willing to read this on their desktop or their tablet or the app.
You will be able to see very cool chapter art:
—Ronan has a skull
-Victoria has a flower
-And the point of view from six years prior is a Needle
While these visuals are cool, they’re also slightly distracting and when I don’t feel like I’m getting proper character development it kind of feels like it’s just decoration to be completely honest, and it pulled me out of the reading experience a bit. In a physical book it would likely add to the experience.
This book did give me butcher in blackbird vibes, and I would read other books by this author, but this one in specific on my tablet it was not the best experience. The notes and texts were also a bit difficult to not be pulled away from the book with. I’m also a reader who doesn’t really enjoy texts in her books, so this is personal preference.
Chapters 38, 39 are 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ enjoy!! ✨🪩
I still enjoyed a majority of the writing style. There was just a few points where my brain was wanting to enjoy the metaphor and just did not. I don’t want to nitpick because I feel this book is a work of art and this is personal preference but this is why I put the book down for now at 67%. Again the first few chapters really pulled me in. The in person experience with this book is gonna be substantially better I think but trying to read this on a tablet with the art going back-and-forth from multiple POV’s is a lot.
Thank you so much for this ARC. I appreciate the opportunity to leave honest feedback voluntarily.

Absolutely loved this! Didn’t know what to expect going in but it was a lovely introduction to NetGalley and I thought it was brilliant
