Lights Out in Istanbul by Robert J. Keating is a quick read of the political thriller genre. It has a storyline of a foreign actor working to take the pipeline and power grid down around the world. It has an unlikely hero in the journalist Henry Vanzant who is on the bad actor’s radar due to a book he has written. A friend and her team free Henry and they work to save another friend who is also a prisoner. That is not a novel concept in a thriller but the book was easy to read. It is largely simple back and forth dialogue, I appreciated the technology bent and that kept it moving for me.

I really enjoyed getting to read this book, it was everything that I was looking for and enjoyed in this type of book. It worked as a entry in the Bag of Tricks series, it had that concept and enjoyed the overall feel of this world. The characters were so well written and was hooked from the first page with them. J. Robert Keating and Ralph O. Heatly does a fantastic job in writing this and hope there is more in this series.
