This debut really pulled me in right off the bat. The writing is vivid and packed full of energy. The world feels unique without being overwhelming. The side characters really stand out which is important when you’re reading an epic fantasy. If the characters don’t have depth then it just doesn’t work, thankfully they do in the oasis stone!

The magic system is clever and blends into the world so well. It’s rare for a first in series to feel this confident, I’m looking forward to what’s to come from Jack Davison!

Jack Davidson does an amazing job in writing this start to the Saga of the Vents series, it had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed getting into this world. The overall feel worked in the genre and was hooked from the first page, and it didn't let go until the end, I'm excited to read where this series will go and from Jack Davidson.
