This book is a gentle revelation for anyone looking to build strength, improve balance, and reconnect with their body—without needing to roll out a yoga mat. ML Maitreyi’s approach to chair yoga is thoughtful, inclusive, and deeply empowering.

What stands out is the clarity of instruction. The poses are described in a way that feels accessible, even for complete beginners or those with limited mobility. There’s no pressure to be perfect—just encouragement to move with intention and care. The emphasis on breath, posture, and mindful movement makes each session feel restorative rather than strenuous.

The book also weaves in subtle wisdom, reminding readers that strength isn’t just physical—it’s about resilience, presence, and self-compassion. Whether you're recovering from injury, navigating aging, or simply seeking a gentler way to stay active, this guide meets you where you are.

It’s beautifully paced, easy to follow, and quietly transformative. A lovely companion for anyone wanting to feel stronger, steadier, and more grounded—one chair pose at a time.

It’s so important to make Yoga accessible for everyone. As a yogini with bad knees, I am always looking for other options for my practice. I found the instruction well written, the pictures, helpful, and the sequences at the end of the book very useful. Will be adding what I’ve learned in this book into my Yoga practice. If you’re interested in Yoga and intimidated by the poses, this book is a great place to start. If you’ve practiced Yoga and have accessibility issues, this book is a great place to land.

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
