Massive space battles, deep intrigue, and an extremely fast paced entertaining story.
Note – this review contains some references at the end that some may consider mild spoilers.
Marc Alan Edelheit (MAE) has become an excellent military science-fiction author. This is his fifth book in this genre and the first 4 were no flukes – each one is absolutely excellent. This book is some of the best military science-fiction I have read, and I have read A LOT OF IT.
This book follows Off Midway Station and seamlessly continues where the earlier story left off. But the story is a standalone book that does not require you to read Off Midway Station first. That said, reading Off Midway Station first will give you a solid basis to build on and enhances the reading of this book…
<< Mild spoiler alert >>
There is a fifth column element that is both believable and innovative. The book builds in intensity as it rockets towards the massive space battle at the end of the book. The description of the battle is incredible and once I started Chapter 20, I wasn’t able to put the book down, I had to finish it :->
The problem is I have to wait until 2026 for the next book, Off Indigo Station – write faster Marc :-<

Superb! Simply superb. I have been reading Marc since the very beginning. I loved Stiger and all the linked and associated fantasy. As I said before, sci-fi was always my first choice, though, going back to the 50's. That's 1950's. When Marc first started with sci-fi I was just a little nervous, but he's hit the spot again. Characters are well developed, the plot is moving along well and he sets the stage well for future stories. The only complaint I have is that there is less fantasy.

Captain (now Commodore) Garrett has made their escape from Midway Station, and with an assortment of ships assigned to his task force, has to lick their wounds before getting back into the fight. Surprise had taken a few lumps herself, so there're repairs and inspections to be made. On top of that, their enemy has some "surprises" of their own.
Some hard decisions have to be made; on the bridge, in the wardroom, in the passageways, and in the cold vacuum of space...
Lots of good space-opera combat to be had off Javelin Station.

In an immediate follow on to Off Midway Station, this story follows the captain and crew to the next destination and leaves absolutely none of the excitement behind. Captain Jim Garrett leads his crew of hastily assembled volunteers and passengers to the next battle in the rapidly expanding war. It has great pacing and the MC shows considerable growth in his new role of Commodore of the small battle group that transported with his ship. The battle scenes are done with the normal flair for Marc and will keep you reading until you finish. It also leaves you waiting for the next stop in the remarkable journey of the ship. I suggest you start this on a weekend so you can finish it without too much interruption in your life and work.

Off Javelin Station takes place immediately after the events of OFF MIDWAY STATION. Once you start it you will not want to put it down.
After successfully leaving Midway Station, newly promoted Commodore Garrett has to assemble all his ships and captains to inform them of what is happening and what they have to do. In addition to preparing his force for the upcoming tasks, he has to put down an attempted mutiny from a jealous commanding officer. He also has to work with his newly installed Science Division which seems to be run by the Intelligence Division. ID <as ever> has it's own agenda.
Dealing with these plus trying to interrogate the captives from the attacking force to find out more about their "masters" AND having to prepare for more combat with unknown enemy forces is enough to drive any commander a bit crazy.
Well written and very detailed, Marc provides the reader with another fantastic book in the realm of space combat. His characters are real and it makes you feel that you are right there with them. The "devil is in the details" and Marc provides them and more. It is very believable and the ultimate combat is tense and huge.
On to the next chapter after this one. I do hope there are much more to come.
