I absolutely loved this book
I loved the main characters Lucy and Everett and of course pudge
It was beautifully written and kept me engaged the entire story
It was beautiful, cute and funny all while dealing with some more sensitive topics like grief and changing family dynamics
The twist at the end I did not anticipate and it was brilliant
The spice was well placed and very well written
The characters were so likeable they drew me in from the very first chapters and I was rooting for them
I gave this book 5 stars ⭐️

The novel revolves around Everett and Lucy, whose lives have been intertwined through their mutual connection to Simon. Unexpected events bring them closer, resulting in a budding relationship. This is a light-hearted read with a satisfying romantic ending.

I just finished Under My Skin by Heather Gavin, and what a cute novel! I really enjoyed the brother’s best-friend trope—the romance, the spice, and the nostalgic “back-to-your-hometown” setting all made it such a fun read.
What I especially appreciated were the deeper themes woven in: divorce, grief, therapy, and the guilt of not always feeling like a good enough son or daughter. I also came away with a newfound respect for tattoo artists. I’ll admit I used to stereotype them as “bad boys” (my own prejudice), but this story reminded me they’re true artists—painting and etching permanent works of art on people’s bodies. Not an easy task at all.
The ending completely shocked me—but in the best possible way. I love when characters finally learn to prioritize themselves and embrace happiness.
It’s a short, quick, but thoroughly enjoyable read. Definitely recommend it!

Ugh, I loved every moment of these two. There was an interesting discussion about how we're so accustomed to the dynamics of our lives, especially with our parents, that we can't even imagine something happening to them. It's a book about how life has to go on, and that we won't always stand still. After all, change is imperative in our lives.
Loved it. Loved it. Loved it.
Thanks to NetGalley and the author for the eARC.
