I always enjoy Daniel Hurst because his books are page turners. I don’t read them for immaculate writing or deep thinking. Every Hurst book I’ve read is a quick and easy thriller that I read in one sitting. They always include twists that get me and that’s that. This was no different from his others.
Thank you Bookouture, Daniel Hurst, and NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

Really good book, it had so much potential as it was very well written and had me hooked from the very first page but the reason I'm only giving it 4/5 stars is because I feel like it just suddenly ended. To me it felt like there could have been a bit more wrapping up of the final act of the story.
I will still definitely check out more of this authors work though because the story and writing style was great so hopefully the sudden end to this novel is just a one-off!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The Ex Who Came Back was another addictive domestic thriller from Daniel Hurst. The setup was instantly intriguing—what happens when an old flame returns, and with them, all the secrets and complications you thought were long buried? The tension built steadily, and I loved how the story kept me second-guessing the characters’ true motives.
It’s fast-paced, twisty, and one of those books you can fly through in a couple of sittings. While a few parts felt a bit predictable, the writing kept me hooked and I still found myself surprised by how everything played out. A solid, entertaining thriller that delivers plenty of drama and suspense.
If you enjoy quick, binge-worthy reads about messy relationships and shocking reveals, this one is worth picking up!

Another brilliant book from Daniel Hurst, this was tense and gripping and kept me turning the pages. Fantastic!

I read this book like the fast and the furious! Hurst never fails to get my blood boiling with at least one of his characters. I was on the edge of my seat with my jaw set, grinding my teeth, trying to think of how I could pull a John Wick on that slimeball ex who just had to come back. The nerve of that guy. I kept trying to think ahead to how Corrine would apprise herself of this situation, but I did not see that coming at all! Another Hurst-worthy twist for the record books! This story was compelling, unputdownable, and filled with nerve-wracking tension and nail-biting suspense. Mateo will make you want to spit fire, ladies, so be forewarned. I always know that I will be fully entertained when I read a book by this author, and I loved every minute of this crazy thrill ride! I would highly recommend!
Thank you to Bookouture for granting me a digital ARC via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review!

I usually love Daniel hurst books, they are a quick read with twists and unexpected surprises
This one was predictable, and fell flat to me
A good quick read but not my favorites

I think I held my breath almost constantly for the last ten chapters apart from an occasional frantic gulp of air. Day became night and still I read on. I give this book five stars. Does it really deserve five stars? Is it really that good? Yes, it definitely is!
This book was AMAZING! It was creepy, intense, and full of twists and turns that I did not predict. I was hooked from the very beginning! I absolutely LOVED this book!
As this story unfolds the suspense becomes nail-biting it was a great psychological thriller with a great ending!
