If you're a mood reader who is looking for an emotional read, then pick up "The Nanny Outside the Gates." I cared about the characters and wanted to keep reading to see how the story developed. The author did a good job of making the multiple timelines interesting. Sometimes historical fiction books only have one timeline that interests me as a reader.

I was really invested in this story. I cried for the main characters, the horrific way they Weretreated. My heart broke for the children, for the way they felt scared and not loved. I was angry that they were taught the nazi doctrine. But most of all i was proud of the adult Main characters and their strength. A absolutely must read. Thank you to netgalley for letting me read this e arc in exchange for an honest opinion

Halina was raised in an orphanage and never knew her parents. She is working near Auschwitz caring for a child. When the child wanders, she is trying to find her, when a Nazi spies her and decides she is going to work for his family and watch his children. She must do this or end up in Auschwitz.
While working in his home with his aloof wife, Halina finds out more about his wife and children. She now has some inside information about the family. She also becomes award of a prisoner in the home and Gavriel is grateful for her help.
This novel is so emotional and I was completely invested in the main characters and a little child which will become critical to this story.
Thank you Bookouture for the advanced e-ARC and having me on tour for this book.
