This is a quick read that should just take a few hours. Lacey is on her way home from an evening college class and decides to take a short cut. This does not work out for her at first for she is a witness to a murder. One of the men goes after her and when he catches her he cuffs her to a cement truck and tells her he will be back. Not knowing if or when she is asleep when he does come back. Alex does what you’re not supposed to do when working undercover and that is take her to his apartment to keep her safe. You are not to have sex with her either but that happens more than once in this story and that helps push this story along and makes the read enjoyable. The two main characters are good and really that is all that matters and you do see growth in Lacy’s character in that she gets out of her comfort zone. Overall a good fast pace read.
