I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I was hooked from the first chapter. It’s an interesting psychological thriller about revenge and mental illness with the story flipping between the two central characters. Overall the plot is engaging and any surprises, although not difficult to guess, are entertaining. This is an easy read, with chapters of a nice length leaving you eager to read the next one. The author touches on the issue of having a family member suffering from dementia and the problems that brings which adds another dimension to the story. Overall I would recommend this book to family and friends.

There’s something deeply unsettling about the way The Therapy Room unfolds—not just because of its twists, but because of how intimately it captures the quiet terror of losing control. Shelly’s experience as a new mother is raw and unflinching. Her intrusive thoughts, her desperation for help, and the slow erosion of trust all feel painfully real.

OMJ Ryan doesn’t rely on shock tactics; instead, he builds dread through emotional truth. The therapy group, meant to be a lifeline, becomes a trap—and as Shelly’s past begins to bleed into her present, the tension tightens like a noose. I found myself holding my breath more than once.

This is a thriller that understands the weight of secrets and the fragility of healing. It’s not just about what’s hidden—it’s about what happens when those hidden things are weaponized. A compelling, quietly devastating read.

With thanks to OMJ Ryan, the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

This was propulsive and diabolical in the best way possible. I loved this book. Added on a whim with the Title and synopsis and couldn't get through it quick enough. I loved this one.

I found this book interesting, and intriguing. Her thought's after having a baby
are dark, as her whole outlook. She"s looking for answers and thinking she found
them. I enjoyed reading this book as well as the many others this author has written.

OMJ Ryan always writes a strong story and was glad I got to read this, it was a strong psychological thriller novel, it had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed from this type of book. The characters were everything that I wanted in this and had that element that worked in this universe.

Olivia is kind of a loner. She hates her job and avoids spending time with her co-workers and housemates. One day she's at a café when she sees Shelly, the woman who got away with murdering her little brother years ago. She follows her to a medical facility, The Alpha Institute. Shelly goes to group therapy with Dr. Galanis because she has intrusive thoughts of harming her husband and child. Her group consists of herself, Polly, Pascal, Claire, Vikram, and new patient Jess. Olivia starts her own investigation about Shelly's current thereabouts in search for answers about her little brother's murder. Is she getting too close to the truth?

The story is told from the alternating POVs of Olivia and Shelly. Both have very similar jobs and are unhappy with life. I loved how the author played with the idea that maybe Olivia and Shelly are the same person. But then, maybe not! You'll have to read this book to find out!

This is a twisty story with very flawed characters. I loved that the villian was so out there (I love a good villian story) and that the victim was a strong female character. Despite of everything what happened, she pulled through and showed grit and determination. She didn't let whatever happened destroy her life.

There was some crude language in this book, which I didn't love, but the story was good so I simply ignored the language.

A 5-star page turner!

I am DNF-ing this book as I just cannot read anymore. It cannot hold my attention as I unfortunately am finding it really boring (and I have tried several times to read it but I just cannot get into it at all), I did not like the writing style as the words didn't flow and it felt a bit clunky. I just didn't like it overall.
