This story was such a sweet, swoony escape! The music backdrop made it feel fresh and unique, and I loved how the romance unfolded naturally between the characters. The chemistry felt real, and there was just the right balance of lighthearted moments and deeper emotion.
Jenny Proctor writes clean romances that still bring all the feels, and this one definitely hit the mark. I found myself smiling through most of it and rooting for the couple from the very beginning. If you enjoy heartfelt love stories with a musical twist, this one is perfect for you.

One More Made Up Love Song is Jenny Proctor‘s newest closed-door romantic comedy. It is the second book in her Midnight Rush series and the sequel to Once Upon a Boyband. It can absolutely be read as a standalone, although Freddie was introduced in Once Upon a Boyband and it offers the back story on Midnight Rush.
26-year-old Ivy Conway has a dream job: she has been the personal assistant to rock star Freddie Ridgefield for more than four years. She lives in his house, travels with him on his tour bus, and takes care of his personal business, making his life operate smoothly. While she’s paid very well, she has no personal life and has battled against her secret romantic feelings for Freddie. When Freddie spontaneously kisses her to avoid bad press, fireworks go off between them.
While Freddie never fit in with his family (math professors), he enjoys spending time with Ivy’s family on their farm. Ivy is still mourning the loss of her older sister, Daphne, who was killed in a drunk-driving accident. Her younger sister, Carina, got into some trouble and needs rescuing by Freddie and Ivy. The romance between Freddie and Ivy is so sweet, and readers can feel how much they genuinely care about each other.
One More Made Up Love Song may be Jenny Proctor’s best book yet! Readers will identify with Ivy’s unrequited feelings for Freddie and her struggle with how to move forward. Ivy isn’t interested in fame and is content to stay in the background of Freddie’s life. The emotions portrayed in this story are so authentic, and I just wish these characters were real. I really hope that she writes stories about the other band mates. I can't find the words to describe how wonderful this books is.
I received an Advance Review Copy (ARC) from NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was a great next step in the universe of Midnight Rush. The relationship between Freddie and Ivy felt natural and comfortable - from their quick witted banter to the their physical closeness. I look forward to learning more about Jace and Leo!

This was such a cute read. I have loved a lot of Jenny Proctor’s newer writing and this was no different. I loved watching Freddie and Ivy’s romance play out. And the fake dating aspect was so cute.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the characters were kind and very relatable. Often times a celebrity comes off as stuck on themselves but definitely not Freddie and Ivy.
Freddie is a singer on the rise and Ivy is his assistant. Ivy has had feelings for Freddie for a long time but after rescuing her sister with Freddie’s help things start to change. Will they admit their feelings or fake them for the sake of the press and good public relations?
Can’t wait to read her sister’s story!

Jenny Proctor has done it again! This was a delightful read from start to finish! The plot was well-paced and the characters were charming and witty. This is definitely one I'll read again! Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the advanced copy of the book.

"I'm not sure belonging is a place so much as it's a person. I'm pretty sure I can feel at home anywhere, as long as I'm with you."
Freddie and Ivy are perfection! Freddie has a heart as big as his fan club and is so thoughtful and endearing. Ivy is an absolute boss! She is smart, loyal, and selfless.
I love the way Freddie watches out for and takes care of Ivy (who always has his back and his best interests at heart) and everyone else in his circle.
Freddie comparing falling in love with Ivy to someone turning the lights on in his life is the sweetest.
"I don't think I can pinpoint a single moment. It feels more like I just...woke up. Like the feelings were already there, but the room was dark so I couldn't see them. Then the light turned on and...there you were."
Ivy's response to his revelation is perfectly sassy!
"So instead of suffering in silence for four years, I could have just turned on the light. So good to know."
This book had me laughing one moment and swooning the next. I can't wait to see which member of Midnight Rush is up next!
*Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I had such a great time with this book! Ivy and Freddie’s chemistry was effortless and so much fun to read.
Their love story is sweet from beginning to end, with just the right amount of tenderness. The moment Freddie realizes he’s in love with Ivy was especially adorable—and the author managed to write it in a way that felt genuine instead of cheesy. No forced drama, no eye-rolling moments, just a romance that warms your heart.
✨ Expect:
Clean romance
Playful banter
A cozy, slow-burn love story

A cute read when you want to avoid the drama and just enjoy the love.
This book was so adorable! We follow rockstar Freddie and his assistant Ivy. While she fell first and has been knowingly in love with him for years, he was slowly and silently falling for her too. When they are forced into a fake dating situation, they both fall harder.
When you read this book you will get:
1. Characters that are so lovable you will want to reach through the book and hug them.
2. A plot that will have you cheering for these two and laughing at the antics they find themselves in.
3. Not stressing out. Honestly, this is a chill book for when you want to take a break from the drama of other novels.
4. A love story you won’t want to end.
I was so happy to see the members from Midnight Rush. Love these guys! Can’t wait to see what happens next with these men.

One More Made up Love Song by Jenny Proctor
Ivy has been Freddie Ridgefield's assistant for years. She was never a fan of his boy band, Midnight Rush, but after she's gotten to know him, she has a major crush. He doesn't see her that way, but he starts to after they have to pretend to be in a relationship for his public image.
I really love this series about a boy band years after their fame. Freddie is the only one still performing and has a successful solo career.
My favorite part of this book is the supportive relationships between the four band members in different stages of life. I'm so ready to keep learning more about them.
I am also obsessed with Ivy's parents and their farm with rescue animals and trees. I could have read ten more chapters about them.
About this book:
Rockstar x his assistant
Harry Styles-coded MMC
Tattooed MMC
She falls first
Dual POV
No spice or language
Trigger: death of a sibling
I cannot wait to read more in this series!

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this arc!
Wow what a great book! I really enjoyed the premise of this book. The characters are great. I even enjoyed the secondary characters. The writing style was great and this really was an easy read. It had meek hooked from page one. I don't always have a hard time putting books down but this one had me..lol. I highly recommend this book if you are in a reading slump. This was a first for me by this author but will not be my last. I loved this romcom!!!

I absolutely ADORED this novel. It was soooo good. Ivy and Freddie’s relationship was spot on. The build up of realizing feelings and love that is built on friendship is my favorite kind of trope. Cannot wait to read the next one! Jenny Proctor is one of my faves!
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

One More Made Up Love Song is out now, and let me tell you-Jenny Proctor has done it again! Freddie and Ivy grabbed my attention when they were first introduced in Once Upon a Boy Band, and getting to see them in their own book working towards their own HEA was such a delight!
Freddie, dear, sweet, lonely, and let’s not forget, oblivious, Freddie. Misunderstood and essentially cast out from his biological family, Freddie holds those in his inner circle quite dear. The only one of his former bandmates to have continued on in the music profession, he’s started to realize just how isolating and limiting his life is. But when he see’s how his life and connections have impacted Ivy, the person who always makes his life easier, he can’t help feeling responsible and guilty when one little kiss to protect him and his reputation turns her life upside down and puts them into a game of fake dating.
Fake dating. Just what Ivy does not want. She’s been risk averse ever since she lost her older sister in a drunk driving accident, but to make matters worse, she has been secretly in love with Freddie for years. So now she finds herself in the painful game of pretend, knowing each kiss or touch in front of an audience is just to sell the narrative, none of it is real or actually for her. So she tells herself it’s time to quit and move on, just as soon as Freddie’s album comes out.
Watching as these two navigate a fake relationship, fall into real and/or deeper feelings and take the leap to throw it all on the line to find true love was absolutely heart melting. Watching both Freddie and Ivy find inner healing from their past heartbreaks and trauma made the journey even more magical.
(Seeing the glimpse of a possible upcoming romance between Carina and the newly single dad? Now that’s just fun.)

I was given a complimentary copy of this book. Thoughts and opinions are my own.

One More Made Up Love Song is a sweet and clean romance about Ivy Conway, a personal assistant to rockstar Freddie Ridgefield. Ivy knows she’s lucky to have a dream job with great perks, but she made herself a promise, and that is to never fall for her boss. That resolve is tested when Freddie impulsively kisses her to avoid bad press, and their “fake” relationship suddenly feels a little too real. As Ivy becomes part of Freddie’s public life and the glare of fame reaches her family, she starts to wonder whether a future with him is possible or whether her heart will be broken.
I really enjoyed this book! Ivy and Freddie are both such kind, thoughtful characters, and I loved how considerate they were of each other, even when misunderstandings got in the way. Their relationship felt genuine and tender, and the fact that it’s a clean romance made it even sweeter. The mix of celebrity life and heartfelt romance was fun and engaging, and I appreciated how much depth both characters had beyond their public personas. This was such a heartwarming read, and I look forward to reading more by this author.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I always enjoy Jenny Proctor's books. She is excellent at compensating (not sure if that's the right word?) for the lack of spice/intimate scenes with witty banter, characters with depth, and closed door connection. This one was so cute and a quick read for me because I was enjoying it so much! The sad aspect of the story was handled with grace and managed to add a realness to the story without detracting from the fun read. I enjoyed that element because I really enjoy when characters "struggle." I think this will be popular with the clean read AND mainstream crowds.

This time, it’s Freddie’s turn in the spotlight. We got to know both him and Ivy a bit as secondary characters in the previous book. Freddie absolutely depends on Ivy for just about everything. She lives at his house and keeps his house organized. She’s been working for him for five years, and was hired with the understanding that she would not fall in love with him. Given that she wasn’t even a Midnight Rush fan when the band was together, or a Freddie Ridgefield fan when she was hired, she didn’t think that would be a problem. But, after a few years of close proximity, she definitely caught feelings. So when the book begins, she’s thinking it might be time to move on and move up into a position with a recording label.
At the same time, Freddie suddenly starts noticing Ivy more, just not her looks, but how interwoven she is into his life. And he likes it. He’s a little bit crushed when she talks about changing jobs, leading him to realize just how attached to her he is.
When a situation with rescuing Ivy’s sister Carina from a manipulative social media influencer calls for Ivy and Freddie to kiss, paparazzi catch them and the picture is instantly viral. So fake-dating it is. But it’s not as fake as either of them is pretending it is.
Again, this is sweet and tender. It doesn’t even have a “you’d be better off without me” third act breakup. Once these two decide they’re a couple, they’re committed to each other.
It’s a nice change.
Possible objectionable material:
Adults drink alcohol. Freddie has lots of tattoos and a past as a bit of a playboy. Mention of tampons.
Who might like this book:
Again, anyone who likes music, rock stars, and romance.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

One More Made Up Love Song is book 2 in the Midnight Rush Romance series by Jenny Proctor. This one features rockstar Freddie Ridgefield and his assistant, Ivy Conway. Ivy has been Freddie’s assistant for the past 5 years and has been in love with him almost as long. She doesn’t see Freddie ever returning her feelings so she starts trying to find ways to distance herself in hopes of falling out of love. Freddie has no idea Ivy feels this way and doesn’t understand why she wants things to change. But he knows he doesn’t like it and he definitely doesn’t want to lose her. One impulsive kiss changes everything and now they are fake dating, the world thinking they are in love. But is it still fake if both are having very real feelings?
I loved Freddie and Ivy’s story! Freddie had such an endearing quality to him. He grew up in the spotlight. His entire adult life had been shaped by his fame but he didn’t let it go to his head. He was kind, gentle, thoughtful, generous, and down to earth. He didn’t date and only does events with women he isn’t truly interested in. I really appreciate the fact that Freddie wasn’t a playboy and that Ivy didn’t have to watch him jump from relationship to relationship. It was obvious to everyone around them that Ivy was Freddie’s #1. No one was surprised when they started “dating”. He was so sweet to her, looked out for her, and was very protective of her. It was clear he cared for her and that she was important to him. I love the way these feeling intensified.
Ivy and Freddie had incredible chemistry. They were just so perfect for each other. I loved the stories Ivy shared about when she fell in love with Freddie. I love that she didn’t fan girl and fall in love with rockstar Freddie. She got to know the man behind the fame and that’s the Freddie she fell in love with. I liked how Freddie explained when he knew he felt more for Ivy. And gah, the farm. The car ride there was so fun but the way they opened to each other while they were there was perfection. It was sweet how much Freddie loved the farm and how much joy he got out of simple things. The two times he sang his new song was the stuff for romance novels. The epilogue and bonus epilogue were chef’s kiss!! I also loved what Wayne and the Conways brought to the story.
One More Made Up Love Song is a sweet, light hearted, closed door romance. No drama and no third act break up. I cannot recommend this book enough. It’s everything you love about a Jenny Proctor romance. It was fun seeing Adam and Laney again. I can’t wait for Jace and Leo’s stories!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I am going to keep this short and sweet because if I truly get started on how beautiful this book was I will never stop. This was a friends to lovers/fake dating/“workplace” romance with the perfect amount of pining. I love a “She falls first but he falls harder” moment and having a character like Freddie and the whole fame of it all made it even better. I grew up on boy band fanfics and this took EVERYTHING I love and miss from that era and put it into a beautiful story. There was so much chemistry between our two main characters and it was genuinely as funny as it was romantic. I have not read the first book in this interconnected world but after this I am definitely going back to that one and I cannot wait for the other books. The epilogue and the bonus epilogue were also amazing, I devoured this book while kicking my feet and smiling the entire time. Thank you so much to Jenny Proctor and NetGalley for this ARC!

Form the Adult Diaper section to Happily Ever after!!!!!!!! I'm not sure I could have loved this book anymore than I did!!!! I started crying when they were at Ivy's parents farm and I'm still weepy eyed!!! I love how Freddie was all in once he woke up and that there was no third act breakup and we got to see their happily ever after!!!!! This was just such a happy lovey book and I think it's going to become one of my comfort books to read!

This sweet romcom did not disappoint! I loved the first book in the Midnight Rush Romance series and couldn’t wait for this one to be released! Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!
Freddie and Ivy’s journey is absolute perfection! Freddie is sweet, thoughtful, and extremely charming. Ivy is a type A queen, who basically runs his life. He wouldn’t know what to do without her. Swoon! This book is full of so many heart warming moments that left me giddy and wanting more. This series was definitely written for us boyband loving 90s girls. I can’t wait to see what Jenny has in store for the rest of the members of Midnight Rush!
